I understand that but it isn't compulsary by law to make public via the media that a transfer fee has been agreed before a club can talk to a player? The point I'm trying to make is why allow Bradford to make it public before talks had even taken place with the player or his agent. If it then doesn't happen supporters haven't had their hopes built up for nothing. All it would have taken was Salford requesting to Bradford that the offer was kept private until they had spoken with the player or the offer would be retracted.

Please allow me to apologize for what I said regarding Elliott Whitehead been "tapped-up". My behavior was extremely inappropriate, immature, and lacked the respect your club deserved.
It was embarrassing and I have now learned that nobody appreciated my poor behavior. In the future, I have every intention of curbing my thoughtless actions and learn to adjust my behavior befitting this forum.

I offer my opinion as a supporter of the club for over 45 years on how I think the club could have done something better and it's frowned upon. I could understand the reaction if my views were emotive, personal, disrespectful and insulting but they are not.

I just find it strange there is no counter argument to my views only insults.

I think the club acted correctly.

I was saying they should have requested Bradford keep it from the media until talks were concluded with the player or players agent. Surely you must be able to understand the reasoning and benefit of that? All this did was get supportors hopes up that we were making a good signing when the player had no interest in even talking to us.

I agree with this. I think the media side of things could have been handled better by both parties. In saying that however, we've somehow managed to keep our '6 new signings' under wraps...

Clearly we have two schools of thought here, one that says there's no such thing as bad publicity and one that says keep your cards close to your chest until you have a winning hand.

Clearly they jumped the gun, as a lot of fans have, and assumed that the clubs agreeing a fee meant player would automatically go along with it. Piece on sporting life now saying noble has given up hope of signing whitehead in time for this weeks game. Also mentions Catalans have tipped up their interest in him. Given that's where most bulls fans expected him to go but they weren't prepared to pay a fee in face of no opposition for mid season signing. Salfords offer have forced Catalans into offering a fee/swap deal. Probably wont be as good a deal for us financially as salfords offer but, assuming that was whiteheads intended destination all along, he presumably would be amenable to it.

Just read that Whitehead is a possible replacement for Jamil Fakir @ Les Catalan, I wouldn't say no to him for 1 or 2 seasons as he would definately add a bit of grunt to the pack. Not certain on his injury record but have always been impressed with his go forward. Think even at one point many moons ago he was linked with us before when he was younger.
