Tough start coupled with poor Sky games, as someone has just pointed out to me a Tuesday night in Huddersfield when just 4 days later we're playing down in the Capital. Once again we play in Perpignan before the direct flights start, Hull FC & Hull KR away in consecutive weeks and Catalans to say goodbye to our 110 year home!

| Fixtures ,
It's time to ' walk the walk ' I guess.
the pre-season should be no problem for the coaching staff to motivate the squad !
kick -off in Cardiff , followed by Saints Wigan & Leeds . Fantastic !
It's Franchise year and we have a point to proove so lets proove it.
I'd rather play them early on before they've hit their straps
As for last home game ,
It should be rammed full no matter who , it can be Henshaws for all I care!

I agree.
Maybe they've given us Les Cats on purpose, knowing they won't bring many, to leave plenty of space for all the Reds fans (taxi drive et al) who have supported Salford down the years and would inevitably want to attend the last match at The Willows?

| For the team I agree with KOTS as it looks like we've been stitched up, makes me wonder if the RFL want to see us maybe struggle early season in the hopes the wheels come off and therefore it gives them ammunition if we are one of the unlucky ones come franchise time.
On a personal note Leeds, Wakey and Cas away early in the season is brilliant as with moving to Sunderland they are the 3 nearest games for me.
Not seen us on that many times on SKY so early in the season too, maybe they think were goign to be good value for money next season.
For me though the biggest joke is last league the Cats, sorry it should have been Wigan or Warrington to gaurantee a bumper crowd, would have been a chance that it would have been a sell out but doubt it against Les Cats.

| Ye we maybe have been shafted early on but would rather play them then together rather than at the end if we are pushing for a playoff place. Very dissapointed with Catalan last game ye we may get the two points which long run would be better but I think a full willows with a fair few away support against a Wigan or Warrington with the shed cheering on for one last time we could give anybody a run for the two points and possibly a game that everyone will remember for a long time rather than a full shed and nobody in the away end that you will forget about a few years after

| Agreed the last home game should be a big crowd no matter who have we got. I expect clubs such as Saints,Warrington, Wigan and Leeds to bring big followings this year as it will be their last visit to a traditional rugby league venue. Say what they like about isolated incidents in the vicinity of the ground but most visitors enjoy the atmosphere of what is one of the last of the old style venues. That leaves us to fill the ground and we if cannot get 7,000 as an absolute minimum then we may as well give up.

KOTS The RFL/Superleague hierarchies appear to be an absolute shambles when it comes to the fixtures and the planning.
The two successive away matches at HFC and HKR are an indication that once again they appear to be using an old Sinclair computer with some ASBO people doing the programming.
The Catalan home matches should be shared out over the three year franchise to give as many clubs fans the chance to fly direct to Perpignan as possible.
The last match at the Willows being Catalans I don't have a problem with as its up to the club/supporters etc to sell this game to everybody

| Shall we all just stop moaning about the fixtures and concentrate on getting behind the lads and having a real good go this year? I get what people are saying about having both Hull clubs back to back, but so have crusaders. The Catalan fixture is usually around that time of year for us so I expected no different. We're going to have to play all clubs twice this season (with the exception of Crusaders of course) I know the players might disagree with some of the travel arrangements , but like us they're just going to have to accept it. So I couldn't give a monkeys when we play or who we play to be honest because I'll still be there. Although I will admitt the Huddersfield game on easter Tuesday is a bit of a bummer!!

| More bad news, Iain has just informed that the Royal Wedding is taking place on the 29th April which the day before we play Quins at the Stoop, so I'd expect some disruption and higher than usual Hotel Prices in the Capital!!

| Jesus, talk about glass half empty....
I agree with hull kr/fc games away, dull games last season and a fair trek in such a short time but as per us playing the cream of last year so early on, i personally would want to play them early on before they get into there stride and pre them getting any roll on for the play offs etc.
I think all who are moaning re: top team fixture's need to remember we have possibly one of our best looking squads for a good few years and like i said, I would rather get them out the way early on before they get into there stride particularly Saints.
As stated earlier we need to support our lads and get behind them as much as possible. And I personally expect to be pleasantly surprised come our standings after the first 10 I think if they gel early enough we will be a major powerhouse up the middle and a confident bunch come play off ambitions.

| Well I'm wearing the same rose tinted glasses as Ave it!
We and the team have got to believe Salford can take any other Super League team around. If there was one thing that irritated me about the 'Harrison Years' was the idea of targetting games. Once we started losing games we were 'targetting' it must have played hell with the teams mental approach to games.
There's been a lot made of silk handbags and sow's ears, well, this is McRae's team now. Through and Through!!!!!! If he believes in the team then, hopefully he can make them believe in themselves. With the players we've got in our ranks next season, and a little bit of self belief, we'll give just about anyone a game next year.
So, who cares what the fixture, there's probably only Wigan we should be scared off, and on the right day we could always pull off a shock!!!!!

As you have posted, its McReas team now, but I think he has got some good assistants backing him up in Veivers, Malc Mike etc
Spoke to Malc yesterday, his enthusiasum is bubbling over, especially after his trip to Aus, the ideas he has taken on board along with Mike Eccles(new conditioner) whilst over there. If his eagerness is anything to go off, his energy he put in whilst playing will hopefully transpire onto the park & the team.
When he attended the F/Reds meeting a few weeks ago he is raring to get on with the job, after speaking to him yesterday, he is even more so now.
Everyone needs to get behind the team next season, no whingeing or moaning, just positive support ALL SEASON.

A very valid point about the coaching setup. To be fair, it can't have been easy for McRae with such a weak backroom staff.
Extremely psyched hearing about how enthusiastic Malc is, though. Trying not to get carried away, but I for one can't wait for 27th Dec and the rest of the new season.
