| Quote ="Ave It!"yes we went. he said if the funding doesnt appear on the venture with the college there is no plan B and the stadium will not be built and we will not get another SL franchise. The date for the announcement for the funding is July sometime couldnt remember what date he said.
People were asking questions mainly about traffic and disturbance.
ave its mum (i will get ave it post more when comes in from work)'"
The LSC's pot of funding has been reduce quite drastically and so they can only fund x-amount of projects as someone has mentioned.
They are looking for quick wins in projects that can be turned around quickly.
If, as previously said, the stadium is a 52 week build then I would consider this a relatively quick win and so should get the funding.
It all depends on our pitch to the LSC and what competition is like from other projects.
Only time will tell ...

| Anybody know what other proposals are being put to the LSC?
We could start a smear campaign against them and get them rejected!
They are most probably Southern, thats a start

We can buy it back for less due to the land/housing market implosion? Depends when it was sold though - over at housepricecrash.co.uk a lot of people Sold To Rent their homes around 2006/7 and are looking at tidy profit from effectively shorting the housing market (nobody could see it coming, right ). We could have achieved something similar..?

| I can fully understand now why the likes of Myler and Turner are looking to further there careers elsewhere how can they sign for the club knowing that a 50/50 decision that can alter your life drastically is about a month away.

87 colleges nationwide, in the first round 8 colleges were selected, one being mine Bolton College which is merging with the 6th form, new build due for opening Sept 2010.
I will find out who the others are.
for Breezer
A planned stadium and college development in Greater Manchester has been cast in to doubt as a result of the ongoing funding problems with the Learning and Skills Council's stricken Building Colleges for the Future scheme.
The proposed scheme would have housed the new Salford City College campus and the new stadium for Rugby League team Salford City Reds.
But the college – an amalgamation of three existing Salford further education colleges and a key partner in the project – may have to pull out if it does not receive funding from the LSC.
The Building Colleges for the Future Programme, which was originally worth £2.3 billion in 2008-11/09, was hit by a funding crisis after the Learning and Skills Council over-pledged its budget by £5.7 billion.
In last week’s Budget the chancellor announced £300 million of extra funding for the initiative.
The LSC is currently reassessing the national projects that they can deliver and the criteria on which the funding can be released.
Reds chief executive David Tarry said Peel Holdings, along with a landmark site that already has planning permission for stadium and retail use.
Salford-born communities secretary Hazel Blears names the Reds as her favourite sports team. In her school days she attended Eccles college, one of the further education bodies being merged into the new super college.

Pev as soon as i hear her name mentioned with anything i really do feel the worst. The influence she did have has been totally thrown out of the window since her cowardly resignation.

I think the funding is now about £2.8b the money made available was because of the mismanagement of the LSC who only had £2.5b to spend but agreed in principal to £5.7b and to think they were in charge of education for over 16s.
