John I was told on Sunday , we have signed RangI for next season, I can't see it happening myself ,but it was from a very good source who told me , I'm not sure about the Salary Cap.

Don't worry about the cap, your Chairman obviously isn't.

Ideal club for him - where immaturity,arrogance and nil regard for anyone else abound.

They have never bothered with the salary cap and Chase was unconcerned when Tangi Ropati was out of the sport and on a visa preventing him gaining any money outside of playing the sport.

The lack of interest for the paying supporter is superbly demonstrated by the Hocks and Chase of this world.

Noble signed some real professionals - as evidenced by alleged behaviour from former Salford players,now at Wakefield,would also help demonstrate.

Little wonder supporters lose interest and those outside the sport don't bother.

Now I'm not one for jumping to conclusions and I'm not saying the individual isn't genuinely ill in some way or form, if it is genuine then I have every sympathy and wish them a speedy recovery.
If such individual is then the club has a duty of care to support the player and assist in any way they can...which I believe our chairman has stated on record the club have (if that counts for much) and Gareth Carvel is our player welfare support officer.
But the synic in my thinks is this leading down another route for justification to terminate a contract in the form of a resignation, along the lines of the club isn't providing that duty of care?
I may be out of order and way off the mark but with all the recent goings on its left a bad taste in my mouth.

With regards for players signing for another club next year both Chase and HH have a year left to run on their current contracts so if they have I'm presuming a fee has been agreed between the two clubs???

What a crowd we picked, who advised putting all these in the same team, putting these in the big brother house would be a master stroke for channel 5.
Funny how you never hear the steady players complaining the likes of Lee, the Griffins, Moz, etc they just get on with it.

Hope Sheens has a good recruitment drive once SL survival is secured and brings in solid steady football players to bring some consistency and stability to the club.

I hope to high heaven you're not right about Chase maybe feigning his issues, I first hand experience of mental health issues with a family member and it would be a new all time low for RL if this was the case. I somehow doubt it but your point makes some sense.

I agree, it's been a pleasure to say I've seen some of his finest moments of magic whilst in the Salford shirt, but it's time to get rid.
Him and Hauraki are probably the last 2 loose cannons to go, then bringing in the academy players plus the few signings should at least steady the ship.
Not expecting miracles next season just sound stability and progress.

Hauraki said today he will still be at Salford next year. Be about 8 weeks til he's over his injury though

Yeh I wasn't meaning he was going, more inferring they are the last two "loose cannons" left in the squad.
Although I do like Huaraki and what he brings to the side but again he's very unpredictable and can miss a large proportion of games through suspensions.

I think he’s been worth it. Disappointed that we haven’t seen more of him, and how it’s ended, but he goes in the Shaw, Baker class of phenomenal memories that will last a lifetime.

Did chase count on overseas quota?

He was a non-fed trained player, and because he comes from a Kolpak country didn't count on the overseas quota.

So he would free-up a non-fed trained spot.

Whilst he has been entertaining the number of missed games and his attitude mean I'm unconcerned about him leaving. I'm sure we can find a player with a better attitude and that may impact on how the squad perform. I do worry about chase long term though, he seems a little fragile mentally.

Some people are self-destructive. Looking at the hard times he endured growing-up, finding RL fame quite young, moving across the globe and all the things we don't know about seem to contribute to his baggage. A lot of very talented people in any number of areas, be it regular jobs, sports people, or academics can be very difficult people. It seems to go with the label that these people get of being 'special' or unique in their fields. I think it requires a special breed of manager or boss to juggle these type of people into viable roles in their organisations.

I don't wish anything bad on the fella, and hope he finds some security for himself and family, and I'll be thankful that I saw him play for us but wont be shedding any tears when he officially goes.

Personally not really bothered about any of them they can almost all go as far as I'm concerned, whilst chase was sometimes brilliant he was also a liability and part of this superstar team that landed us second bottom of the league, unable to even get four home games and getting destroyed by the might of Bradford with Sheffield and Halifax also managing cricket type scores against there superior opposition.

On the plus side for Chase going by past Salford players and coaches they usually "Get Well" after they have been paid off and relieved of there Salford duties.

Watching a few games on YouTube from this season it's a shame he wants to leave especially when you see him patting the badge on his chest when he scored. We clearly did miss him during his harsh 7 match ban which caused us to miss out on the play offs. To be going Leigh though is a big step down for him.
