| I wonder what effect boycotting any stadium revenues streams would have.
I am sure if they suddenly found they could no longer sell food to the salford fans it might send a message.
I won't be paying any carparking fees next year. I will park else where.
They have frozen us out treat the stadium company the same way.

| if you want to make a bigger impact, don't attend
Could someone please point me to any offiial statement that the stadium was built for the people of Salford as a council act of benevolence. I was always under the impression it was a commercial activity with the added attraction of housing Salford RLFC (in its guises). Therefore any way of maximising icncome will be taken.
We didn't own the Willows in its final chapter.
We don't own this ground.
We have no say in our fellow tenants.
Let's move on.

| Pointless boycotting anything to do with the stadium, as I understand the club still receive a share of the match day revenue.
Even if Koukash buys the stadium you would imagine the agreement made between the stadium management company will transfer across. Knowing how Marwan operates though, there's a good chance he'll point blank rip the contract up and buy Sale out of the agreement.

Why don't we just refer to the place as the AJ HELL stadium.

| Why exactly are people looking to boycott certain things at the stadium to make a point?
I can't see that Sale or the Stadium have done anything wrong, Sale saw a chance to make a profit by purchasing the naming rights (something I'm sure the Doc would have done if this would have been still available when he took over), Sale have then you'd assume obtained the most money for the naming rights they have to sell and then stadium management company have made (again you'd assume) much needed revenue.
I'm not in the slightest bit bothered by the name of the stadium as it's the team I follow, in an ideal world it would have had an iconic Salfordian themed name but it hasn't so move along please.
I'm also pretty certain with the Docs financial acumen that his people will be holding talks with AJ Bell in the hopes of securing some form of corporate tie in, the Doc has hardly put a step wrong since he took over I'm willing to bet rather than seeing negatives he tries to create positives.

They're just an extra thing whilst at the match surely wouldn't stop you or anyone else attending.

| See there we go an off the cuff remark about the closeness or welcome to hell and AJ Bell creates a possible tie in between the new branding for Salford and the new stadium name rights owner.
Hell at the Bell!
Sure someone on the Docs staff will be looking at possible tie ins such as this already. Nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.

I thought this was supposed to be a community ground for the City of Salford? Now we are the minor tenant with our identity slowing being removed. We have no shop and essentially a stadium getting more blue by the minute. Ask Irlam Hornets how they have been treated or what happened to the club shop.
I can tell you once we have no ground thats it no more salford. Regardless of a few good seasons under Koukash.
Sale have already played this strategy once at stockport county. Ask them how they are doing?
They hit clubs when they are weak. As for they have done nothing wrong argument, in the legal sense thats true. But thats not the same as acting honourably.
We need to support in force next year, but we need to resist losing control of our ground. Or all Mr Koukash's effort will be in vain.
Koukash is doing everything he can to help us but as I have said before we are far from safe as a club.
We don't know what Peel and Kennedy (Sale) are up to in the long run.
Neither of which has a proud history in they way they conduct them selves.

Seeing as you claim that you don't know what Peel and Kennedy are upto your statement is quite inflamatory.
As far as Peel are concerned weren't they trying to help your previous regime to a new ground, one they (you) couldn't afford to develop or even it would seem pay rent? Admittedly, this gesture was probably borne out of self interest, currying favour with the City Council, a bit of planning gain?
With regards to Kennedy I don't know the facts, but, aren't the ownership issues of Edgeley Park and your shared stadium completely different? Didn't Stockport County effectively become tenants in their own home (probably not nice)? Whereas you are both tenants and due to the parlous state of your club pre Koukash you have been forced onto the back foot.
Sale have excercised their legal rights nothing more and can they be blamed for that? You would have done the same if you had the wherewithall at the time of negotiating the deal?

| I think the naming rights were used as a bargaining tool to get Sale to sign the tenancy agreement they were obviously dragging their heels with. Why else would the stadium management company agree to sell the naming rights for a price lower than market value, allowing the Sharks to take some profit from something they could have taken more profit from themselves?

| It was ludicrous,on the face of it, that the Stadium company sold the rights to Sale who could then profit from the onward selling to Bell.
But, we need to think back to the circumstances at the time, not now with the benefit of hindsight.
They'd built a stadium and had a tenant that not only failed to pay its rent, apparently, but also looked as if they would go bust owing even more money to Peel and the Council, the stadium owners.
It's hardly surprising they laid on a sweetener to Sale .

What price were the rights sold for and how do you know that was lower than "market value"?
ATEOTD the value of anything is what you can get for it, clearly the joint venture company made a judgement call at a particular moment and sold the rights to Sale. Sale have now presumably received an amount of cash from AJ Bell in return for them being able to name the stadium for a number of years - we don't know what else is tied up in that deal so I think it's very difficult to attribute a "market value"

If the price wasn't lower than what Sale believed the 'market value' to be they wouldn't have invested in the naming rights. I guarantee you one thing Sale won't have sold them for less than what they paid the SMC for them.
