This Koukash story is still pure speculation , but at this point I couldn't care less if he'd never seen a game before. Up until 2007 Koukash wasn't involved in Flat Racing now he's in the top 10 winning owners.
He's married to a St Helen's girl so RL shouldn't be that alien to him.

He's a doctor of electrical engineering. He could double-up and replace the bulbs that were out last Sunday.

Fair play to the good Doctor for wanting to get involved in RL - he seems like a good sort and has been based in the area (Liverpool) for a number of years, that said I'd be slightly concerned that he'd have Jamie Spencer on the wing and Luke Patten riding one at Chester the same day



Hopefully this is the end of a sad period in the clubs history, the new ground should help with any takeover bid etc. too

Why are we discussing motives? Does it matter? If it gives the Club a great chance to turn itself around it's got to be a good thing.

TBH the amount of money required to run SCR will be peanuts to a guy like this.

Correct. Talk of being the "Manchester city" of rugby league is wide of the mark, the salary cap will see to that. All we need is an initial pool of cash and someone with the nous to run the club in a proper, business-like fashion. The rest will take care of itself.

While I am properly happy to see this interest one point I have only just spotted in various reports is that in the talks he (or his representatives) have had the club have now been involved.

You'd think that as the club is owned by specific people rather than a multitude they would be involved, the only possible reason I could see for this is if the RFL have basically told Wilky and his fellow directors if you want to save the club we'll handle it and just sign the papers when it's done.

I hope the new potential buyer comes through for you guys.

After reading that article, the most encouraging thing he said was “We would not be finishing in bottom three like last year.” Not so much the statement, more the "We".

The fact that he's got the former CEO of NZ RL already doing Simms job is encouraging and after looking at his Business, EuroMaTech, you'd have to say that behind the scenes is going to get a considerable overhaul. For the better. A guy that runs a world-class seminar training company teaching other business how to do it properly at the highest level sounds like a breath of fresh air when it comes to off-field management.

I feel like I'm going to wake up at some point and this will have all been a cruel joke...
