The point being that just because a woman did a good job last time, it doesn't mean another woman would automatically do a good job this time. Gender means nothing, nor does any distinguishing physical feature of a human being, hence Walshy's point about people with a tash.

Running a successful rugby club is stupendously easy. It's so simple any small-minded, illiterate baffoon with a computer keyboard could do it. As proven here, daily.

| You get a firm In,and for a large fee they tell you what you probably new or should of know in the first place. But by
doing it this way,It gives you the get out of jail card to say David it was nothing to do with me.I would be surprised
to see the chairman's daughter take the reins,I don't think he would not exspose her, in case of flack.Surely the
strategic revue has not told us get rid of the C.E.O and then everything will be fine, have they? Should all this have
been done before the move to Barton,is It to little to late?.Should the chairman tell us what the revue will do,or what is
its aim? or his it nothing to do with us?.

| Everything you need to know about Tarry and the way the club was being run is in the todays MEN with comments from John and from Dave Tarry. Tarry's comments about the club letting him go being the best thing that has happened to him have angered me greatly. He's never going to be able to steal a living like he has done at Salford in any other organisation. The man is a joke and I really wouldn't mind if he choked on his breakfast.

Erm, the chap has just been made redundant and was quoted as saying:
"Like a lot of businesses we had to reassess where we were going and it may well turn out to be the best thing that’s happened to me."
What is it that's insulted you so deeply? His optimism?

Everything about the man offends and insults me, I take it you've not had the pleasure of sitting in meetings with him waffling on and patronising you? Telling you how everything's alright and we are marketing and not losing touch with the fans etc......Yet the consultants employed by John came in and it only took them a month to see what a joke the man is. The best thing this club has done in the last 30 years getting rid of him. The fans have been saying it for a long long time (with the exception of the doo gooders on here).
There's members on this board that most people will know and also long standing fans not on this forum that most people will know. They're all massive fans of the club and know exactly what he's like, but are too nice to say anything about him bad about him in public. I'm not.

'The fans' have probably questioned the capability of everyone at the club over the last few years, it was hardly a prophecy. I mean, is it now safe to congratulate Steve Simms on doing a great job - given the consultants haven't sounded him out?

I'm always in a good mood, apart from when Salford usually play. As for Christmas it's always pretty gloomy because our presents haven't arrived (Usually a season ticket and shirt )
The fans have questioned the capability of most people at the club because they've not been performing up to scratch. One of the main reasons for this is having a poor boss. Its like in any business if you have a poor boss then your won't perform to the best of you abilities because your getting paid anyway. If the boss was more demanding, pushed his staff and led by example then maybe they'd perform a little better?
As for Simms, I don't the think management consultants were there to have a look at the playing side of things that Simms is involved in were they?

If you've worked there and that was your experience, fair enough. If not, neither of us are fit to judge. The cold hard fact of the matter is we have no idea how easy or difficult the job is/was. The consultant brought in to review the place clearly has an opinion but having worked through a similar review at my workplace a year ago I can categorically tell you they're not always right.
I guess time will tell if it's easily replaced.

I am off the same opinion as you regards Mr Tarry, but don't put all the ills of the club on to him,the best way to get
a crowd is get a team the chairman needs to realise that. You can have all the fanzones you want but if you have not
got the team there will be no one in it.

I don't buy that at all. The fact the RFL wanted a team in the Manchester area and the fact we had a new stadium on the way are the two main factors we got a licence IMO. The RFL have given us the chance to move stadium and see what happens, hoping we would be the team to tap into the Manchester market, but the transition has been poor in fact nothing short of shambolic. Peel, Salford City Council and the RFL have expressed their concerns and Tarry's gone. This stadium is our last chance and Tarry wasn't up to the job now he's gone hopefully we will make it a success and get another 3 years when the licence bids come back around.

Nope I've never worked there, but know people who have and still do. They say the same thing. A good boss ensures his staff are working to their capabilities and if they're not they should be sacked. Tarry obviously didn't do this.
Quote ="EX.SALF.UNI"Oh goody. So folk can still blindly discuss how terrible he is in the role they know little about?'"
That's the problem, no one knows what his job is. A role that no one knows anything about is bound to come under criticism from fans. What is a director of football? Could we function without one and save ourselves some money? The only thing I know about what Steve Simms does is sign players without giving them medicals, something Parish confirmed when he was here.

| Just out of interest what credentials has Tina Wilkinson Bell got to be appointed onto the board of directors? Is it because she is just the chairman's daughter or has she actually done something to gain recognition in order to get the position?

If Tina Wilkinson Bell was sharing an office with David Tarry before he left then surely she will still be using it at this moment in time?

| I personally think the article was about all you'd expect, like him or loathe Tarry was always well spoken and you'd not expect him to come out all guns blazing when he is obviously looking for work elsewhere.
Personally I didn't like the man ever since meeting him for one reason and then he proceded to go into chapter and verse about how well run the club is and how well they are doing.
I hope that Wilky continues to take the right steps and restructures the entire back room staff, the people who have advised that Tarry be "let go" can't surely have laid all the blame for the clubs troubles at his feet and I hope Wilky follows up with the rest of the suggestions they came up with.
I would personally hope they replace Tarry with a real Rottwieller type who goes about his job ruthlessly from the start rather than becoming involved in the cliques that exist behind the scenes at the club.
