If Simms has come out to the press and singled out Sinfield as a player we are not signing, you have got to say hats off to Smithy. To get the Director of Football to personally deny a rumour to the press that Smithy blatently made up is quite an achievement!!

I think over the last few weeks the influence of this forum has been shown ( the Web shop ) after the discussion on here on now the press denial's Re Briers , Morley and Kevin Sinfield are as a direct result of discussions on here.



Most people who read or post on here take the speculation with a pinch of salt , even if it pertains to be ' in the know ' .
Some of us know stuff and don't pass it on , others will blurt it out and take the plaudits if true or the backlash if not ,
I seem to recall Simms proclaiming we had offers in for Craig Gower & Anthony Minichello. and that was far more embarassing than picking up on idle gossip off a fans forum and believing it.

anyway what's this I hear about Billy Slater coming in as cover for Luke Patten ....

Wasn't the Gower rumour confirmed by the man himself. He stated, the offer from Salford wasn't all that great and chose to turn it down.

Back on topic. After all Smithy's promises, I did keep the faith. That was until the Sinfield was named as the very person we were supposedly signing. Then it was obvious that, we weren't getting a big name after all. Oh well. Thanks for the entertainment Smithy!!!! You are legend.

I love the fact that people seem to be getting upset about all this. As JJ says, it's lightened-up what will be a long off-season for us fans, and it's pretty amazing that this thread alone has influenced the general media.

In addition to the media, this thread has also had local and national education chiefs as a result of smithys use of "English" looking at what went wrong and how some youngsters back in the day were omitted from any mainstrean learning.........

Anyhow's this isn't rumour or "gossip" or a post to "string you all along" he's signed and thats it.

PS to all of you who complained or moaned about Smithy's post's and how he's been having a right laugh at us all. If you weren't a believer or thought he was talking rubbish you shouldn't have given him the satisfaction of the childish attention he craved so much by replying to his post's. That way I feel his billy b*ll*cks would have tired some time ago. (don't forget some people get bored have a very small social circle, or simply lock themselves away and don't leave the house like outcast's so he cant be blamed entirely)

And thinking about it maybe that's were the "traitor" comments have come from. Perhaps some one heard a Gardner Brother was coming back and perhaps thought it was Matt, when in actual fact its the better of the two (no offence) Ade

Smithy isn't the only person to suggest Sinfield will move on from Leeds. I read on another forum that Sinfield is rumoured to be heading to France.

Maybe Smithy's source was right and we have been involved in a move for Sinfield?

Wasn't the guy who started the rumour the same one who came on here saying that the club saying that the ground was being built was actually a fraud to be awarded a further licence...
