| Any post-holiday blues have quickly disappeared after getting back and seeing the score from this afternoon. Wish I could have made it.
Watched some of the tries on Sky Sports before. Jodie Broughton, take a bow

| What a nerve-wracking game it turned out to be!! We should have been home and dry at 30-10, but this is Salford we're talking about!! We spent most of the game defending our own line and scored some magnificent long range tries. Quite rightly Jodie Broughton will get the praise for two superb solo efforts but on any other day we'd have been praising Jeremy Smith for his break for Fitzy's try or Dan Holdsworth for his part in the other two - his kick for Stuart Littler was class!!
This season we've scored some really good tries when we've moved the ball out wide and used the higher quality backs that we've got, which makes it all the more surprising that we've tried to overuse forwards against bigger packs by playing five drives and a kick. We're not big enough to go through opposition teams, but we've got real chances when we try to go round them.

Spot on - it was noticeable that about the only pass Jodie Broughton got at the JJB was from a Wigan player!
But what a change to have a half back like Dan Holdsworth who seems to be able to make time for himself - the kick over to Littler was superb, he looked up, saw the opportunity and went for it when I think we were all just expecting a pass along the line and to get snuffed out! Brilliant.

| littlers try was good, but if you read all the reports of the game it says it was gibson who scored it. obvious they all just copy each other.

| Extended highlights available on the [url=http://www.superleague.co.uk/video/player.php?id=732Super League website[/url now.
Kind of glad I wasn't there experience those last 10-15 minutes of the game, must have been quite worrying watching those tries go in in quick succession and can't have been good for the nerves.
How did Neal play? How was Cashmere's return from injury?
Watching the highlights, it was nice to see a killer pass from Alker at the play the ball for Gibson's try
Great dummy from Jezza Smith to set up Fitzy's try. It's a shame we've never seen that sort of thing consistently from him throughout his time here.

| from the MEN
His second was just as spectacular, this time his pace and balance produced a try and gave Salford a 30-10 lead before Bradford’s late four-try blast set up a tense finale.
can Neil Barker not bother even counting now, or is it he gets his numbers mixed up?

| So how are the rest of the media reporting on the match? Bradford having a bad day or are Salford getting some credit this time?

Yeah on the BBC website report he said that at the beginning and then at the end he said they started badly. I'll let him off as it was his first match in charge
Sky Sports News summary (the words at the bottom of the screen) had two "pages" without mentioning Salford

| Watching Boots'N'All the Tries last night when Broughton scored the length of the pitch try all they could mention was the poor Bradford defence, yes it wasn't the best but does everyone presume that Broughton is weak or is it just the case that Sky can't be bothered to learn more about him? They didn't mention his pace and guile in beating players. He's a powerful lad (and will get stronger) we've seen it a number of times this year when he's taken players with him over the line, one of which was on Sky against Hull FC so it's not like they've never seen him.

| TBH im quite glad that Jodie isn't get all the plaudits in the press. I know that sounds bad but we've learnt from bitter experiences that as soon as our good players get hyped up in the media the so called bigger clubs come sniffing round to poach them!
FWIW i think Broughton is one of the most exciting wingers i've seen at the Willows and hope to see him play in a reds shirt for years to come.

| Perhaps and this is a big perhaps, Sky know or think they know that loads of people in Salford get Sky for nothing by having a bent box, not that I have, but that could be the reason they don't put us on telly or try and not mention us in reports.

Broughtons now in the top 25 Metre's gained stats ( 2034 ) 24th place
the 2034 Metres are from 247 carries
Thats 8.25 Metres a run / 113 Metre per game average
+ he's now our top try scorer
Coming from a wing back who's had limited opportunities until this season and playing in a side that usually on the defence , pretty impressive .
Say he should be in the running ... for ' find of the season '.
Sky will be playing him down as he's in a Salford Shirt , sure they'd be raving about him if he was still in amber and blue

Alan says "why do we need a fullback when other positions are desperate to be filled"
'"
Correct. We're in greater need of two hookers, two decent props (to add to Cashmere and Jewitt), a loose forward, one second rower and a right centre before we look a the full back position. Although I must admit, despite showing plenty of enthusiasm, Kirk Fitzgerald, or whatever he's called this week, has looked far from Super League standard at times this year.
On a broader level, it appears that we're struggling to get players to sign for us next season. Plenty of negotiations but no end results!

| Fantastic result @ bradford great reward for all the hard work put in by the players.
The only concern for me was why\how did we managed to self emplode so badly after being 10-30 and by all accounts cruising to hanging on for grim death other teams dont do it why do we? superleague is the top level our sport and should be respected
A plus point is this win @ bradford exorises another ghost for us and will hopefully allow the players to continue to develop in a positive way, this group of players can be anything they want to be as long as they keep moving forward.
