Staggering and smarmy comment. Our Salary Cap a small percentage of the Rhinos and a 9 point `whacking` by a team full of Internationals is not very impressive is it? Oh by the way Lawrie Maguire is nothing like the player he was - lost that yard of pace.

i thought we played really well today! Thought the turning point was when sneyd failed to find touch with about 15 mins to go. Other than that though i thought he had a good game! The extra class that they've got shined threw when it mattered.

I really don't see what that has to do with anything. I saw two tries that I feel should not have been awarded, I didn't say every call he made was wrong.

I suppose it shouldn't surprise me that a Leeds fan is simply failing to acknowledge the fact that a referee has made a terrible decision. I suppose it's in your nature to turn a blind eye when you've benefited from a couple of the most high profile refereeing gaffes/contentious decisions in the sport in recent years, when you look at Millenium Magic a few years back and Lee Smith's try in the Grand Final last season...

2nd) McGuire wasn't at his best today, as for his pace I think some of the injurys he has picked up have knocked a yard off his pace however you have to remember his mega pace was in the 2004 season

Contentious decisions have happened to Leeds twice in the past two weeks, Hull KR we had a try disallowed for "double movement" by the video ref, Stuart Cummings has afterwords said it was a try, and last week Huddersfield scored a try without a player touching the ball

Hull KR we got beat a miles better side whose kicking game was superb and we only just beat Huddersfield when we should have converted more of our chances and not had sloppy defence

Leeds are masters of the borderline pass... there were plenty that were shouted for forward by the crowd... which in another area of the pitch would have looked fine.... he did miss a couple of shockers today... but there weren't as many as were screamed for.

FFS!! we sounded like a mixture of bratfud and kr fans today with the amount of "forwarrddddd" shouts from the shed...we also through quite a few of our own that went un-noticed!

Usually I'll scream and shout about a decision during a game and after reflection realise I was probably wrong about it. I'm not talking about every single pass . I'm talking about one pass that sprung a player for a try that was so blatantly forward that I have no doubts that it was anything other than forward as I sit here typing.

I assume that you didn't complain about those tries that went against you against Hull KR and Huddersfield then and were perfectly happy with the decisions that were made?

No anti-Leeds bias here, I was just using those examples to make a point. Personally, I'd prefer to see Leeds to win the whole thing again this season ahead of the likes of Saints, Wigan and Warrington.

Failure to get points from good field position in the 1st half cost us the game , saying that I was pleased with the Salford performance despite the defeat.
As for the Ref he missed a lot for both teams.

I think LF has nailed it there, the top teams are the top teams for a reason, if they can do it quick enough to get away with it then i see no problem, i wish we were that professional we'd master it rather than loop one or look like a naughty school boy hoping the ref hadnt seen.

A referees decition cant win /lose you a game but it can effect the momentum you have in the game the team with the momentum usually comes out on top.

Pointless blaming the ref, as the players have no control over what he does.
Two things we can control:-
1) Scoring more points during consistant pressure in the 1st half when Leeds were having a poor spell.
2) Making touch with a penalty when we were 6 points behind with 10 mins to go.

Sort those two out and we would have been in with a chance and not concern ourselves with the refs decisions.

Great game, great efffort from the lads, even wanting the ref to stop the clock with 24 seconds to go - assume this is for points difference and is just the kind of thing the fans want to see.

regarding attendence yet again,if you were not a supporter,would you have known there was a game yesterday ,let alone who we were playing.

Not sure whether we will sign Henry for another season but his defence is very dodgy and he has been a bit disappointing on attack.

I personally found it bewildering that we didn't try for the odd drop goal when he had all that pressure just before half time. Very poor to come away after excerting said pressure with nothing to show for it but the endevour.
Think Neal looks a brilliant forward and showed heart and determination, Sneyd whilst not setting the game ablaze did enough to show that he has a future.
Think we all know that Broughton is just about the quickest in the league yet we didnt play to his strengths at all, everyone in the shed could see that Leeds didnt drop anyone out of the line for the frist two tackles, surely the coach up in the stands can see this and relay a message down to kick deep from behind the scrum for Broughton to chase.

We are rarely on telly average twice a season so we don't have the "advantage" of the Video Ref, but you say two decisions in two weeks we had two in one Half against Hull a couple of years back one of them changed the way the video ref was used they got to have sound, a luxury two in two weeks.
But our half time team talks don't seem to work.

Leeds were truly awful in the 1st half and Salford should have put them to the sword.
However, without the necessary guile or power, thats what happens.
10 mins into the 2nd half and I suspect that we could all see what was about to happen.
Leeds completion rate improved massively and the passes stuck (together with the benefit of the doubt from the officials).
A solid effort from the all Salford players, but around 4 or 5 quality signings are required, and the coaching staff definitely need to show us that they are doing more. Can anyone andvise me just what their strategy/gameplan/matchday input is ???
All in all a pretty poor game, woeful atmosphere, and a poor attendance.
