| They say that playing on Fridays is non negotiable because of Corporates.
I understand that.
But at what cost??
The ground is tremendous,we're seeing some good stuff on the pitch but the overall experience is bad, because of the stadium logistics.
Would be far better on Sundays.

| Quote ="Marshy1"The attendance at the leeds game is given as 6,891 not a bad crowd nut how many of you think in real terms it is disappointing.
Firstly the game was against the club world champions, secondly apart from last week your team had been well received following three back to back wins and most importantly there was the two for one offer in the local rag.All three would have sugested a better crowd and surely now your management has to revert to Sunday rugby.
It would be interesting to know the Salford-leeds split.'"
Up 71% from corresponding game last year which was on a Friday in July.
I thought that there were more in attendance than was quoted based off my previous games with recorded attendances of just over 5000.

| This was the view from my spot behind the sticks during the game. How many can you get in the away stand by the way and how many would you say were in? 1,000 or so?
edit: 2 others too

| Got to the willows at 7.00pm shuttle bus was full, waited till 7.45Pm for the next one to turn up, meanwhile quite a few people gave up and went home,
we missed 10 minutes of the game. There is a serous problem at the motorway round about. The sooner Peel start Port Salford and put the new slip roads to the motorway in and ease the congestion. I also feel Salford need to try a Sunday fixture

| I am extremely grateful for the shuttle bus from the Willows however knowing that there was going to be a big crowd for last nights match & from previous experience of the travelling situation I got to the Willows at 6.15pm & the bus left at 6.30. As usual all went well until we reached Patricroft Bridge & then it was just crawling from there finally reaching the ground at 7.30pm. Obviously cars & public transport were equally delayed as getting through the roundabout at the motorway junction is absolutely horrific.
The only solution to this is if temporary traffic lights were erected on the roundabout to ease the situation if that is possible.
The result of the match didn't help the Reds fans getting away from the ground either although most had done the Wigan Walk at least 20mins before the end & who could blame them.
I must say that there is no problem leaving the ground on the shuttle bus as they are given prioroty over the cars from the car park.

I was working on the turnstiles last night, your season tickets would not scan on the scanners, but it is the counter on the turnstile as you walk through that is counted, not what the scanner counts, so you were in the attendance.

Solly the one and only single thing that will bring the fans in is success, I believe a highly competitive Salford team will bring them in.
Whether that ever happens is another matter.

We win three games on the run,and we are one of the best teams in the league.Leeds shop at Harrods,we shop on the
market, lets get back down to earth,it we Finnish out side the bottom four,we have done OK,with the squad we have got
I was at meeting, along with others, that the club were more concerned, about away fans, and then flooding in.They did not seem to be concerned about attracting new home support,it was always about away fans.If we ever get a team like
Leeds,we will get 8,000 plus in my opinion. The powers that be at Salford, have always said If people come and pay
we will spend the salary cap,and you know as well as me,people will only come If there's something worth watching,
and there is nothing,we have gone on over marketing,or lack of It,but on the pitch, there is nothing to market

The post was about Attendances,I gave an answer,my opinion.If you don't agree,I am sorry.I couldn't care less.
I did not say the players, that will be coming, are not good players, they are, although they did not get a call from Leeds.
If they had,I don't think they would be at the Chandos Club,do you. What ever level you play at,and what sport,
every body's not at the same level.there is no shame in that, that's the way the mop, flops.have a good weekend.

| I had the pleasure of experiencing the East Stand on Friday as when I went for my tickets I was told the West Stand was sold out. You can imagine my amazment. I liked the West stand and the people who we sat near but really enjoyed the East as even at the back you feel like you are close to the action but high enough to see the whole field. Being a Leyther and a casual watcher of the Reds why could I not choose where I wanted to sit. Why tell lies about it.

We won three games on the run and some people say that we are the best team in the league, others keep their feet on the ground.
If Leeds shop at Harrods its because they can afford to, we cannot but I do think that we have some decent players for the money paid out.
I am sure that I was at the same meeting where the question was asked, where do you expect to get the extra fans from? and one area was to try and increase the number of away fans that attend matches and another was to try and attract more fans from the surrounding areas never concentrating on one or the other.
The 8000 attendance would never happen on a regular basis overnight it will take time and the start that what we have had was not the best taking into account the friendlies etc but if we had a team as strong as Leeds,Wigan etc with the success that they have had the 8000 average would be achievable.
I believe that if this season we average 6000 then our salary cap will be higher than this years for next season, with further increases each other season if the crowds continue to increase each year.
I think that in RL we have a very good product and in Salford City Reds we have a very good product that needs to be improved upon and marketed much better not only when we get back on a roll but all the time.

| I personally thought the crowd on Friday was pretty decent, the only issue for me remains the getting to the game as yet again we abandoned the bus at Patricroft bridge and schlepped the rest of the way.
Said it in another thread but every time you visit the ground seems more like home and you begin to appreciate more and more the outstanding facilities we have no compared to the Willows.

So your saying that at the willows last season the crowd was slightly over 4000. Allowing for the fact the number of Leeds fans would possibly similar then that suggests the additions are all new fans.
Everything is looking rosey then.

| I reckon there could have been more Leeds on Friday compared to last year due to the fact a lot of us came to see the new stadium in the flesh. That was my major reason for coming across and the same reason I am going to Langtree Park next week.

What I said is that it there wouldn't be an issue on the motorway as such, the issue lies in the need for lights on the motorway junction. Install them and think it would diminish greatly. What's causing the problem is that because at that time of night very little comes down the A57 from Irlam to join the M60 anti clock wise meaning the traffic coming down from Yorkshire pretty much always has right of way at the actual roundabout, meaning that those coming from Eccles are waiting for a decent Christian driver to let them out. Traffic management is all that's needed.
Do also think that a shuttle from Eccles would help with traffic flow as you see plenty of cars coming down the A57 from that direction and surely a good number of them would jump on a shuttle if they could, wouldn't be hard for the Willows shuttle to pick up on the way through Eccles - though the legalities of stoppin at a bus stop might make this impossible.
