| Wasnt there a Trafford borough team years ago? seem to remember playing at the pictures on the opposite side of Washway road from TGI Fridays possibly 20 years ago now.
Either way it's a good thing, and lets hope the club continue this type of ground work in the local area.

Yes I believe we held our club record for points scored against a team for 12 or so years. I seem to remember us beating them at the Willows 76-0. Where's KOTS when you need him!

Yeah Trafford Borough started in 1989/90 (having been Blackpol Borough, Spingfield Borough & Chorley Borough) until going back to Blackpool in 1991/92. I think we only met them twice IIRC we played them in 1990/91 we beat them 38-12 @ home and 40-12 Away (Altrincham FC's Moss Lane Ground). They had the one and only Darren Brown playing for them at that time.
Our very own u45d was a fan I believe.

| Fantastic news fella, and I'm delighted to hear the club are supporting you and let's hope that relationship continues to grow. I know the club has made great strides into the City of Manchester and I know the club now has a Manchester development office (Seb Rowe I think).
Having a presence in Trafford could be a massive bonus to the Reds and RL in Greater Manchester as a whole. It's also great to hear that you're getting good numbers interested in what is a very un-rugby league related area.
All the best with it and keep us posted on developments.

| Well done to Cheshire Tiger
Watching Trafford Borough stood me in good stead for the trials and tribulations that followed with Salford.
I`m sure if they were around now they might of got away with being in a devoplment area.
Just to confuse matters there was an amateur Trafford Borough which played at Shawe View , now home to Trafford FC. this maybe the team MR was thinking about.

| Trafford has a long history of schools rugby league: remember both Stockport and Trafford schools being involved in the Oldham Schools cup. It is not that long ago Rugbu Union "oop here" was in danger of imploding and Rugby League was seen as the rich cousin.

i went to Lostock High in Stretford in the mid 90s and it was all League, shame the teacher was a pie-eater. I was in the team for a bit and we won the lot. even played at the willows (but i wasn't picked and didn't play or travel )

Ah Lostock, I vaguely remember playing against them for Hope High in about 93/94 but for some reason I had them down as being from Wigan!!! Then again it also took me about 5 years to work out Castleford weren't Castlefield icon_lol.gif

| Need to add ...
coached for 25+ years at a soccer-mad school ... no help until the last 5 years,
was formally told on (at least 20) times that I had to stop - if anyone knows me this was fuel (I was Union Gen Sec in my last 5 years),
never knew (outside DoE) more enjoyment, more reward, more support from pupils and parents, more sheer why-we-teach,
GO FOR IT
best years of my life.

| BTH are running a RL Festival in Trafford at some point.
The Stretford boys did really well! No wins in their four games but they grasped the basics really quickly and only lost to Wright Robinson 12 -8 in their last game!
Really promising. Best was they loved it and cant wait to play again and even asked if their were any good teams to watch? I told them Cas was a good hours drive away but Im going to sort them out watching at The Willows in the new year
