Ryan Tandy has today signed an extension to his Canterbury contract for a further 2 years.So we can chalk him off the list.

I believe he is yes. Despite Mr Fitzy's undoubted enthusiasm, Patten is in a different league. (In more ways than one before the pedants chip in with a wisecrack.

Garry Jack was a massive high profile signing. He was solid but for me didn't live up to expectations in attack. I think this was due to him playing in a struggling team and being such a marked man. Everytime Jack fielded the ball the opposition seemed extra determined to nail him as soon as they possibly could. Hopefully Patten will benefit more from the creative handling skills of Daniel Holdsworth.

Just watching the re-run of the Bulldogs - Rabbitohs game and I've lost count of how many times they've mentioned Salford in relation to Patten. Loved how Andrew Johns contradicted Ray Warren and Peter Sterling in respect of the correct pronunciation of 'Salford'. He even went to the effort of calling Brian Carney in order to confirm his point.

One of my mates is living in Adelaide at the moment - I was talking to him this morning and he was telling me that he keeps hearing/reading about Salford in the news because of the signing as well

Anyway. PATTENWATCH...

His first 50 minutes versus Souths was shaky to say the least. He'll fit in at Salford too well with displays like that. Nevertheless he picked up. A lot! A sweet try assist followed by a try capping a much improved final 30 minutes. Indeed, his try was his one hundredth in the NRL and he marked this momentous occasion with a military salute to his foot soldiers.

Watching a re-run of the Dogs V Souths game, erm yeah. Lets just chalk that one down to the excitement of coming to the Reds!



On a serious note though, managed to watch a fair bit of the NRL this season and delighted with the signing of The General. Shows great ambition from our club which is refreshing to see, really looking forward to seeing him nxt season.

On a side note, how good will Jamal Idris be!! think he's only 19 and can play either out wide or second row! The guy is a beast think im right in saying that he scored on his debut for NSW aswell?? Sure somebody will be put right on that one tho!

Correct. A debut try for the Blues. However, he got smashed twice, not long after entering the field. A mixed debut for sure although considering his age and literally huge potential, Idris is bound to be a star of the future. After all, "he's the biggest human being I've ever seen."
