Don't take Wakefield lightly, seasoned battlers and love to play backs to the wall/ adversity type footy, but the main thing is they got a talent in Godinet, maverick player and very elusive, a lot of folks down under shocked NRL let this kid go, if he hits the ground running then you could be for a tough day on Sunday

Godinet is a very good player, by far their biggest threat and whilst we shouldn't take Wakefield lightly any aspirations to finish in the top 8/6/4 then we need to be putting teams like this away at home.

Some of the 30+ point margin of victory predictions on here might be a tad overoptimistic, but I don't think many on here are taking Wakefield lightly. I could just have easily started my prediction [iNarrow away victory; "John From Salford" first on the phone in to tell everyone he went to the game but "Left at half-time, Jack. Disgraceful, Jack. Biggest game for the club for many years if ever. Lose and everyone will be saying nothing has changed. Defeat is unthinkable but I think we will edge it. Wakefield have some useful players and will be well up for it being the first game of the season when everyones spirits are high and the chance to knock over "moneybags" Salford and all that.

I predict a close game with Salford scoring late to flatter the scoreline, 34 - 16 or thereabouts!

Of course I'm secretly hoping we trounce them....Then Wakey to bounce back and win their next 3 on the trot for good measure, because I do like the club.

4,500 tickets sold according to Koukash on twitter. Not sure if that includes Wakey's allocation. Hope we can get that up towards 6k on the day.

Does this gigure include season ticket sales, if so I'd be pretty disappointed although having said that, I think they'll be a massive amount of walk-up on the day (causing chaos I'd suspect) so hopefully we can at least reach around 6.5k.

Doubt there's ever been a day where more people will just turn up on spec. Made sure the new ones I've got going have already got hold of tickets as can't see it being anything but a cluster on the day. Wonder if there is anything like progress on cash turn styles?.

Think between 6 & 7k will be a good start and a few early season wins that you'd hope would become the norm.

Yes - Koukash has said Wakey have shifted 400. Not sure if that is included in the 4,500. If we've sold 5k with still 3 days out, plus walk up and Wakey will bring double what they've already shifted, I think that is a good effort. Predictions of 8k were overly optimistic I feel. Considering the same fixture last year had about 11 people there we're going in the right direction.

I disagree, I think it's an excellent effort considering were still 4 days away. With walk ups on the day added and a decent Wakefield following we could hopefully be on for a 7k crowd.

as an outsider, 4,500 ticket sales is very promising considering the opposition, no offence to wakefield, but they wont be challenging for the 8, its double the attendence from last season already so that is a huge plus

Just a quick update….Im a ST holder but went to the Stadium tonight and bought 2 extra tickets for bring a friend…you get a discount BTW if you are a ST holder… the tickets for the West Stand should have been £46.00 and I paid £40.00 for the 2…I asked the lady how tickets had been selling ?and she couldn't put an exact figure on it but said it had been manic the last couple of days…some had gone to Colleges,schools etc for sale so she couldn't put a figure on those? an allocation of 750 had gone to Wakefield and wouldn't know until Sunday how many returns? but she said it looked promising with a couple of days to go
