| Marquee exemption being voted on this week, with MK suggesting an interesting twist:
Each team receives a "Golden Ticket". Each Golden Ticket can be used to bring a player in exempt from the salary cap. If a club can't afford to bring such a player in, they can instead sell their ticket to another team.
An interesting idea that I doubt will pass even if a marquee exemption does. I wonder what clubs would sell their Golden Tickets, if any - Or perhaps those that couldn't afford to use them would hold on to them anyway to spite other teams/not upset the balance too much, at a cost to their own finances?

| Would the Golden Ticket also give access to Willy Wonka's chocolate factory?

| No but in exchange for your golden ticket, Dr Koukash will happily build your very own chocolate factory and draft you a change of name deed so you can be Willy Wonka.

| There was Tuilagi who played for Saints a few years back (Freddy, or something like that). Are they related?

| You'd think that if true about Tuilagi he'd make a pretty good league , quick and strong as an ox. Would make the right kind of headlines for Salford and the game as a whole too.

That's means absolutely nothing, he could be saving face just incase a deal doesn't come off.

| People seem to confuse Koukash telling Barker he would be interested in signing 'so and so if it was feasible' with high level talks being underway and on a knife edge.

Does this mean you have some inside information, in an "Elliott Whitehead definitely signing tomorrow" stylee?

| Let's be honest most take what is published in the MEN with a pinch of salt, a statement of intent from the Doc to look at a high quality signing from RU is a good thing.
Over the years Salford has a history of making some very astute signing from the other code and following it's move to open professionalism certain positions in RU have become more and more akin to RL, in particular the backline. Remember to many people the best player they have seen in a red shirt is David Watkins who came from RU.
I personally think there many RU players who would make a massive contribution to RL if the Doc managed to get hold of them Tuilagi is certainly one of them.

Was thinking about Whitehead the other day, if we'd have got him when we bid last season wonder if we'd have got Hock, HH or Rapira? or if we'd have not gone for Rapira at all.

| I don't think the clubs that voted against the exemption can see the bigger picture; they're thinking too short-term. If the RFL wants to keep the best players in this code, the marquee exemption rule might be the only way to prevent them moving to yawnion.

| Hence why Wigan were allowed to keep Tomkinson for the past couple of years.
Extremely narrow minded and thats why Super Leagues never really going to be Super.

| 5 clubs voted for it according to MK. Guess that would be us, Warrington, Leeds and Huddersfield. Not sure on the last, maybe Hull FC?
