Number of ticket sold and its been heavily promoted as the JoiningJack charity game in which both teams are wearing special shirts. And obviously its Wigan v Saints they don't mess with these games this close to the fixture.

Its not PPV so if your already subscribed to Sky Sports they've already got your money so not watching it does nothing really.

| Quote ="Ave It!"As I've been saying to others Walshy we can't blame sky, Sale or the Stadium company. We have signed a contract with Sky as have every other super league club allowing them to move games to when they want. They have done this every season since super league started, they want the most important games on at this time of the year and who can blame them? Its Salford who should be held responsible for this if we had our own stadium as promised all them years ago we wouldn't be in this mess now and wouldn't have to share a ground. It all goes back to poor management by the powers that be who have put is in this situation.'"
The wider problems are all Salford's fault but people ranting on Facebook saying 'do you want us to have fans etc?' over the Leigh thing is stupid. Some of us, you included, knew Salford had put us in this mess long ago so there's no point blowing a gasket when an inevitable thing like this happens and pretend it's a big shock. People not going on Saturday isn't going to help Salford or bother Sky one iota.
What a contrast between the way Wakefield as a club has pulled together in recent timnes under a new impressive owner and the stagnant slow death we are enduring.
As for Sky, I for one blame them for wanting to, and being allowed to, televise games as and when they please and not only that shift people from their home ground onto neutral territory.

| It's the fault of Sky.
Not much we can do about it as a Club. The extra Sky money for the Club is always welcome so they do what they have to.

| I hate union, but even I can see its not their fault. Its daft for people to expect them to move, when they will have a big opening and attract a big crowd.
When your sharing a ground stuff like this is going to happen. Its just another nail our coffin.

| What would have happened if we hadn't thrown the towel in on reaching the playoffs 5 weeks ago? Could we have found ourselves playing a playoff decider on a neutral ground? We have to make sure that (unless the RFL take the common sense decision of playing all of the last weekend's fixtures at the same time) if we are at home on the lat weekend of a season then Sale should play away to ensure the ground is free for all possible final weekend slots.

| If this fixture attracts a reasonable crowd and is deemed a relative success, look out for it happening again should Sale progress to the later stages of the Henieken Cup or even their end of season play offs. The lower the attendance the better in my eyes.
No need for the mock outrage towards the club on the facebook page. Yes it is the clubs fault we are in a shared facility, however you can hardly blame the club for a tv company being able to change a game with 5 days notice to a date which has been known to be unavailable for the last 2 months. The main reason Sale is on the Saturday is because it clashed with our original Friday night fixture. Then ESPN decided to move it from 3pm to 4.30pm.

Could mean either 1 of 2 things:
1. Salford are putting up a bit of a fight over the fixture being moved and finally making a stand on behalf of the fans.
2 .Salford are waiting til 4.59pm to confirm it, just before the staff clock off, and therefore missing the deluge of complaints etc.
Which one is more likely?

Just throwing it out there.
Interesting to note on the stadium facebook page they said they have no problems with it being on Friday or Sunday, so if it stays on Saturday it is sky who have decided not to budge from a rigid 6pm-8pm Saturday timeslot (which is already in the tv guide) despite having pretty much any kick off time they want available on Friday or Sunday.

Karlos, the other game listed for Friday is Wigan v St Helens and Wigan cant lose the league leaders shield likewise Saints cant move any higher up the table so its easy, televise us on Friday at our stadium and leave the other match as it is with no cameras.

Could even show both games on Friday with one live via the red button option. The ironic thing is if Bradford lose at Catalan (4pm) sky are going to be showing a meaningless dead rubber game in a neutral venue, as Wakefield will already have secured a play off place before kick off, so it will have been moved for no reason.

| That BBC story has been on for hours - the club stated after it was put online that it is not confirmed. Somebody is saying on Facebook that we're not going to know until tomorrow.
Re the Wigan v Saints game beaing meaningless - yes, Saint's can't go higher, but if they lose and Catalan win/draw, they drop a place. Saints are playing for 3rd place.

Might be a nothing game but with nearly a full stadium and it being the JoiningJack game aswell as simply being Wigan and Saints its pretty much guaranteed to draw more viewers than Salford and Wakey would.

| All you club apologist's hang your head in shame. Todays decision to play elsewhere is a symptom of having your soul ripped out.
Blaming Sky, Sale etc is nothing but short sighted. Sky call the shots. If the chairman hadn't sold our soul there would be no argument.
JAW please leave this club ASAP you've already done enough damage, Our soul has been sold. We've been MADE a laughing stock, you're out of your depth running us into the ground. Please sell up, apologise, and walk away.

You've had a mare there pal, no soul has been sold! It either had to be moved to the Friday or venue changed due to sky's viewing slots, Sale couldn't change their game as one of their conditions to entry of the yawnion premiership is that they are top priority club at whatever ground they play at. (Before you say it, yes it is a farce but no, we couldn't do it in RL atm due to having Huddersfield, Wigan, Hull etc.
It is really disappointing and even a little degrading, but it's reality that these things can and will happen.

DI I assume that I come into the category of a club apologist which I am not, as I know that the club have made mistakes over the many years that I have been a fan and mistakes were being made well before John Wilkinson came on the scene.
The present problem over moving the match to Saturday is down firstly to Sky TV and secondly to the RFL/Superleague and the club appear to have been given no chance,as yet,to have any say in the matter and I have contacted Sky,the RFL and Superleague asking them for an explanation, I haven't contacted the club as it is nothing to do with them although the RFL site says that we will be playing somewhere in Greater Manchester, I assume that you have vented your feelings on them also?
If and when John Wilkinson leaves the club I will wish him well and thank him and Howard Clague, Ian Watson and their families for all that they have put into the club.
If you could explain just what you have against the chairman that makes you constantly rant on in the way that you do,then please enlighten us on what it is as I am sure that there is some treatment available.
Whatever the chairman has or hasn't done I feel that any prospective buyer/investor will listen more to him than they would to you.
