| Quote ="billybradshawsmum"As RP posted, you are funny most of the time, its others who start singing abusive songs as some did at Leeds last week, which resulted in a couple of Leeds fans being evicted from the ground as they took offence to what was being sung/said & at the end of the game waited for the fans who had been singing abuse at them & followed them to the Salford fans coach where they proceeded to cause trouble to the point I had to phone the police as worried they were going to smash a coach window with a walking crutch they were swinging about & trying to get on the coach & pressed the emegency door open switch. Luckily there was some sensible Salford fans on the bus who spoke to the Leeds fans & calmed them down.
The incident could have turned very nasty all because of some tools being abusive. I would take offence at some of the comments Salford fans were singing if opposing fans were saying it to me or whoever.
If they want to sing, why not just sing Salford songs & support their own team instead of being complete k##bs & making themselves look idiots.
It just takes people to put their brain into gear before opening their mouths & having a brain fart, please think about it, you put your own fans in a dangerous situation.'"
It's not just us then. I'm afraid we bring some similar dimwits on our travels. If you're unfortunate enough to be within earshot do us a favour and don't judge all Rovers fans based on their antics.

| Quote ="Red Preacher"Thanks. It really is massively frustrating to see how it's going/gone. I mean, I've witnessed "fans" being arrested, general loutishness that should have resulted in further arrests, groups of lads chanting (slurring) songs at opposition supporters despite the fact that it wasn't funny due to a) poor timing, b)lack of originality, c) nobody but there own team's supporters could hear them (barely), and d) made the rest of us look plain thick! And all the above, minus the arrest was just last Friday. It's actually become embarrassing to be a Salford fan!
Rather annoyingly, many of the perpetrators do actually share the same passion for the club. Not that they give a very good impression of it.
You know, it's only 3 or so years since we were literally bouncing on the terraces, full of exhuberance, excitement and occasionally smoke flares. (That although not dangerous in the slightest, resulted in one grade A supporter being banned)
It was quality almost every week!
Anyway, I'm starting to do my own head in now so I'm gonna stop. Cheers for the compliment though. Hopefully we can feed off the passion the Hull KR fans clearly have these days.
Nice to hear many other Reds share the same views. GT, PR etc.'"
Do you think theres any way to get back to the days of exuberance and excitement on the terraces and a quality experience once again? Surely there must be many others feeling the same way? Well i dont know how many will be making the journey (at least 35,000 ) but hopefully we will make some noise!

| Quote ="The Original Red Devils"Its like being back in school ffs. Were all Salford fans and all want the same thing Salford to win, i agree some of the chants aren't the greatest but as already pointed out if someone starts a Salford song of there's various people that wont join in if they don't like the person they then try and start a totally different song of with there mates, its fuc*king pathetic. Im not on any side of the fence i don't class myself as part of the fine fellow element (some may disagree
) but i will happily join in a song about Salford if they start it of. People need to grow a pair of Balls and stop nit picking at each other anyone would think we are at war with each other!'"
Everybody in your stand turns up because they want salford to win. Getting behind your team through the game is done to help achieve that win, why would you hear a chant start and only participate if you like the person who started it? Just go along with it and create an atmosphere it doesnt matter whether your young or, old drunk or sober, if its a proper chant (not inappropritae or stupid) sing along! I realise im preaching to the wrong people here probably but had to get that off my chest

| Can we swap our smithy for their smithy this boys talking sence?
As for atmosphere I think its ticked along quite nicely in the shed last few weeks, nothing massive but much better than last season and maybe the season before.
"Our" numbers are down because people have decided to watch the game elsewhere because of the lack of atmosphere in the shed @ the time and got bored with me and Gt's love hate relationship or don't come at all now but we can only do what we can do with what we have.
You have to give the kids on the left some credit at least @ home their numbers are rather large and have mixed it up a bit rather than just abuse and currently dictate what is sung and when.
Remember last season @ the willows let's send it off with a bang rather than a wimper like the last few weeks.
Aways are a whole new ball game, due to circumstances I've not been able to attend any this season but my experience of them is the exuberance of youth will make you do some crazy things, we have all done it, its just their time, they will enjoy it settle down eventuality ready for the next exuberance youth to come through

| I think there's some people on here who are far to obsessed with 'atmosphere', 'singing politics' etc etc.
I don't really sing/chant at matches. It's nothing to do with what's being sung, who's started it or who invented it. It's beacuse i'm there to watch the rugby. The rugby is my main priority!! I'm at a rugby match not a chior competition!!

Don't u find that singing and chanting raises the players spirit cos I certainly do, if they know the fans are behind them it lifts them, it's not proper rugby without a good sing song

| From an outsider looking in, I've always had the impression Salford fans were enthusiastic, barmy, mental, passionate, committed (least at home games) and what not regardless of what was being served out on the field. Our 2007 game with you lot on the Friday night (the relegation decider) was a brilliant atmosphere.
Looking forward to the game, if not the admission fee (20 quid?!), albeit this is a common theme in SL, and at HKR also, needs looking at.
It's a shame both teams aren't at full strength mind.

| Patten keen to see Mason stopped
Salford full-back Luke Patten is hoping to bring his old Canterbury Bulldogs team-mate Willie Mason back down to earth when Hull KR take on the Reds.
Mason made a fairytale debut in England last Sunday, playing a starring role in Rovers' 40-22 win over Crusaders, but Patten believes the big man could be in for a shock at the Willows.
"He started off well," said Patten. "Obviously he's a big guy and he does take some stopping and, as we saw last week, he creates opportunities with his offloads.
"It's something we spoke about in training. But Friday night at Salford might be a bit different to Sunday afternoon at Hull KR. It could be a bit chilly and an intimidating environment hopefully."
Lets hope he is right.

| I noticed a few more players have pulled out tonight, Feka, Gibson, who will it be next week? The saying 'when your down your down' couldn't be more true!
Hope I'm wrong but I think we have less chance of winning tonight than someone from the TA with a blunt pen knife against a professional soldier with a fully armed AK47 assualt rifle.

We will certainly need to lift our game if we are to beat you tonight, we have the players it just dependant on if they want to play, we see lacking in forwards so its a expansive game we need to play to give you problems.
Off the field I look forward to our vocal jousting as usual I hope youe boys turn up n make plenty of noise the shed will give as good as it gets so prepare your A game if I was you

| 'The Hope' has a beer garden and own parking, that it prob about 5 min walk to the ground, 10 minutes maximum, you could stand outside The Weaste which is literally a minute walk to the ground.

| The Willows bar is open if you like to get settled in the ground. Entry is by going through the turnstiles & going up the stairs at the centre of the club end in the ground. It is open through the game & after.

One of the best atmosphere games I've been to, remember you lot brought quite a few down. I remember your fans completely taking over the Weaste pub, first time I'd seen it like this with away fans for a while, just a shame a few idiots decided to cause some trouble. I know before the game KR fans we're friendly and so on then some United fans(not Salford, just United fans looking for trouble) came round the corner to the Weaste and tried kicking off, stupid behaviour and I'm glad they don't attend weekly.

Ah good stuff, yes I was in the Weaste pub pre-match in that game, not been in that pub since 07', so cheers for the heads up.
The whole affair was tense, it was actually tangible, pre-match and during! Typical wendyball fans then, shouldn't they be singing songs about Tevez in Bishop's Blaize ?

Unlike other grounds we do have our ticket office next to the club, it has a large sign saying ticket office and is about 62 yards down from the Tavern entrance as you walk from Weaste lane towards the Varity centre then at the far end is the ticket office.
