We were absymal in the first half last night. In the second half, we looked like a decent side.

I'm off to Ashton soon to watch Irlam FC take on Ashton Town AFC. Irlam have won 2 from 2 so far whilst Ashton have lost both their opening fixtures.

Also, Irlam drew Blue Square North Hyde United in the Premier Cup at Silver Street. Game will be on Monday 19th October.

Salford went down 2 - 1 to Lancaster
Much improved from saturday, missed at least 3 goal scoring opportunities.

Town lost 4-0 to Halifax at The Shay infront of a 1200 attendance last night!

Totally gutted with the result. We had enough chances to have buried them and then end up losing to the only two decent efforts they had on goal.

Did you go by any chance? Just wondering what the ground look likes now after all the building work that's been going on there for the last few years.
I'm looking forward to going there this season having last been there with the City Reds in last seasons National League campaign.

Irlam were the better team early on and had much more possession. Two injuries in the first 10 minutes didn't help but the lads pulled off a good win. Chadderton at home on Saturday is the next game.

Lancaster were poor. Can't believe Salford managed to lose that game.

FC drew 1-1 with Retford United yesterday at Lincoln United's ground. Fair result, really. And we got to see a cricket match next door as well, all good.

Salford's disappointing start to the season continued yesterday with a third straight league defeat as Curzon Ashton ran out as easy 3-0 winners at Moor Lane. This latest result leaves the Ammies at the foot of the table, albeit on goal difference with three other teams who have also failed to register a single point at this early stage.

Another difficult game coming up when we travel to Skelmersdale United on Tuesday 25th August @ 7:45 pm kick-off.

Irlam FC 0 - 3 Chadderton FC

First loss of the season for Irlam. Out-played and out-muscled by a physically strong Chadderton side. Irlam had five regular starters missing. Eccleshall at Silver Street next up on Saturday followed by an away trip to Norton United on Tuesday night.

Genesis won 2-1 against Garforth on Saturday - apparently we were awesome in the first half, Chris Baguley scoring a beaut for his third goal in three games for the club, but unfortunately I only got to see the second half, and we were utter bobbins! Lucky to get all three points in the end.

Lancaster away on Tuesday beckons.

Couldn't make it to Lincon as i decided to go to Celtic Away as i have never been there.

Just back from Skelmersdale United having watched Salford City go down by 3-1. A better performance than last Saturday but in truth never good enough to win the game. We are definitely lacking up front.

This Saturday it's Skelmersdale at home in the FA Cup Preliminary Round and unless there's a replay it's back to league action against Rossendale United at Moor Lane next Bank Holiday Monday ko 3:00pm.

First win of the season for Salford City today with an excellent 3-2 home over Skelmersdale United in the FA Cup Preliminary Round. An excellent performance today with goals from debutant Patrice Mondon-Konan, Rhodri Giggs and Ian Fitzpatrick (pen) gives the Ammies a home tie against Marine of the Unibond Premier Division in the 1st Qualifying Round on Saturday 12th September.

Irlam picked up their 4th win in 5 games this season against Eccleshall at Silver Street. Final score was 3-0. Next up is Norton United away on Tuesday night.

Irlam are now top of the league due to AFC Liverpool losing at home to Leek CSOB.

Salford's scheduled home league game against Rossendale United at Moor Lane on Bank Holiday Monday has been postponed due to their opponents being involved in a FA Cup replay the following day.
Next up Chorley away this coming Saturday ko 3:00pm.

Bit early, I know, but are you going to the Grand Final, TD, bearing in mind that we're away at your lot that day?
