if Mr Myler (and any other player) wishes to leave, then I wish them well. They are like any other worker and can move firm as they wish.

Sadly, they are sportsmen and so affect the emotion of thousands of spectators every week. So we will miss them and feel betrayed - it's natural.

All I ask is to play as committed to your contract to last second of the last game. This is what is expected of any worker.

in the evening news tonight it says that offiah is having a meeting with simms and wilko tommorow to discuss myler's future and it also says that salford are going to make him the biggest paid player in salford's history.... it also states that robbie and stapo are certain to leave the willows at the end of the season!!!

As much as I want to hold on to our young players, it would be silly to break the structure for one player, especially one who still has much to prove.

We can only spend 50% of our income up to 1.6M do you really want to spend it all on 1 man?

I agree. It is extremely frustrating when your most talented players leave. However in this instance we took advantage of the situation at Widnes in capturing Myler offering him a better opportunity. There is no the real possibility of a bigger club offering him more money and an increased chance of winning things. Frustrating but its a fact of life. If he is to go to Warrington lets get as much money as possible. Theyve been throwing money away left right and centre in recent years.

I think it actually say's that Offiah say's weshould make him the highest paid player in the clubs history and much as it pains me to agree with him he is totally correct. Young and inexperienced as Myler is any fool can see the future GB number 7 is ours to keep and that he is the type of player a sucesfull teams builds around.

For class like Myler you have to do something special.
He is not the finished article yet, so what will he be like when he is.
The other young players will also get negative vibes from Myler leaving,plus it leaves a very bad impression on the club.
I want them all to sign and if this means established older players going then so be it.
Myler,Adamson,Ratchford,Turner plus others are the future of the club.
Get rid of the overpaid Ozzies to pay for them if necessary but whatever they have to do do it !!

I like the balance of our squad at present. If you got rid of two or three of our Aussie forwards and replaced them with youngsters or cheap, low quality experienced UK players then the team would suffer. Myler would not get the field position and opportunities to influence matches. I dont see how that approach would attract Myler to remain at the club when he has offers to play at clubs who have the talented squads for him to excel.

Reality suggests if Myler was to go, we use any potential transfer fee to invest in signing the best possible replacement we can.

I personallyt never like to see big differences in wages as team spirit often erodes and the odd hospital pass if given in retribution. JAW knows this and maybe its not best to break the bank for one player. I would like to see more invested in youth and less abroad. Way to go.

Come on, think about it, Myler is a possible, but he is also being bandied about in the same sentence as Williams and Gasnier. Can anybody seriously see them returning to RL whilst they are under contract and hefty ones at that in RU?

Its Ironic that Offiah who would not have made it in Super League as you can not carry a passenger as a Full Time Wigan did is now trying to mess up the Franchise system which was created to create a level playing field by his actions with Myler and blackmailing Salford.

As I've already said, Offiah is doing exactly the same as any other agent would be doing if they were in his position. Inevitably as a legendary ex-player often appearing across the various media we hear more about him whenever there is speculation about a new contract. Offiah has gone down in my estimation after all that's gone on though - the way he's conducted himself has been pretty unprofessional with some of his comments in the media - Myler's hype alone is enough for him to command either a massively improved contract from us or a big move to another club without him coming out and saying in the media that he wants a "king's ransom" and that he should be Salford's highest paid player in the history of the club.

I'm glad that the story actually gives us some indication about what is going on - with people saying that him going was a done deal and not much noise coming from the club regarding talks I was beginning to suspect some of the rumours might already be true. I still suspect we'll lose him to one of the vultures though.

Probably. He's been average this season imo.

Personally i think it will be a more of a statement of intent from the club on where we are going in the future, i hope we retain Mylers future at the right price, given the time and the money he could easily be the next "Alker" and build the team around him.

The "Alker, Littler, Fitzpatrick, Highto" Generation is coming to a natural end and should be broken up to allow the new generation to come through.
With the other young stars signed the likes of Turner, rachford and Adamson add some good quality senior professionals to carry them though their development this generation could be on for somthing big which has never been done before.

I feel this generation of young players are head and shoulders above anything we have produced since ive been watching salford and i hope they are allowed to reach their potential wearing the red shirt of salford.

i'm sure we'll be saving quiet a bit on the cap with stapo and paul leaving. White and Nash should be offered reduced contracts. Fitzy and littler should be released. What worries me though is the lack of young talent coming through! When is another ratchford, turner or adamson going to come through? i dont watch much reserve or acadamy games but i've been told there isn't much there!
