| Why is it that when we lose, the Coach is a plonker and when we win he isn't mentioned ??

| I thought that there was no doubt that the better team won today, thought the scoreline was a very fair reflection of the game, the better team won......just.
Always knew Richie Myler would get the MOTM award but for me there were 3 huge stars in the pack who need big mentions. Firstly my MOTM Craig Stapleton, was outstanding, arguably his best game as a Salford player which in itself is no mean acheivment. How many minutes was the big fella on the pitch today by the way? Outstanding effort. Secondly, the man who for my money has been our stand-out player of the season Luke Adamson, take a bow young Luke, you were almost as good as your performance last week & that's really saying something. Last, but by no means least, step forward Luke Swain, to be falling around the pitch like a toddler in a play-pen 1 minute then to wave away all medical attention & to race back into the defensive line, that's above & beyond the call of duty. Then he rounds it off with the charge down of Monaghan's kick towards the end, superb.
Don't think I've stopped smiling since last Sunday, long may it continue.

I said the same thing to my mate at the end of the game. McRae was given applause as he left the pitch. I bet some of the people clapping were calling for his head 2 weeks ago.

| Most of the first postings on this thread were from supporters of other clubs who weren't even there. So as someone who was...let me tell them that the better of two very poor teams won today.
The rugby on show was barely NL1 standard, and both teams played similar tactics.
I can see us, Celtic and Salford battling it out for the bottom 3 positions.

| warrington are crap but they are on a full if not more than the salary cap, they have too many pre-madonnas in their line up on big fees but puting in big performances. We did well but for some elimentary errors by the referee we might have scored more in the first half. But a win is a win so heres to Monday and a Leeds team smarting from what they will see as poor reffing decs at bradford but were actually excellent and to the letter of the law.

Were you one of the wire fans singing 'you're not singing anymore' at 18-16 with the kick still to come?

| Adamson was by far the best platyer on the pitch yesterday IMO. If he keeps on turning in performances like yesterday's he will be a Salford legend (as long as none of the big clubs nick him!) Big mentions for Wilshere, Swain & Stapo too. Myler had a decent game but it was certainly the 2 tries that won him the MOM. Although a great win the match wasn't the greatest spectacle but conditions obviously played their part. I think most fans can now see a chink of light at the end of the tunnel and know that although we will get a few tonkings there will also be some good days to look back on at the end of the season. If we can maintain some sort of defensive stability we will start to compete more.
Finally, a few words on Warrington. If I was a Wire fan (which thank god I'm not ) I would be asking some serious questions. How a team with so much alleged "talent" on the pitch can look so poor is beyond me. Monaghan, Anderson & Westwood looked distinctly average and I can only remember Screech touching the ball once when he took the short kick off which led to their last try. On yesterday's showing I would be amazed if they finsih anywhere near the top 6.

You are aware of how the Salary cap works, right?
Salford spend around 1.3m (if that) when the cap is 1.8m (ish) Warrington on the other hand use the full 1.8M, so even if you've let Gleeson and Reardon go you've still now got to pay Mathers who will be on the equivalent or more than Reardon, but lets for argument say their like for like, then are you telling me Gleeson was on 1/2M a year?

My God, I thought they were underachieving before I read that, but if they're spending £18m on that shower than serious questions have to be asked!
