I'd go for him then, we are definately missing an old fashioned type prop to add a bit of anger in the middle of the park and he definately fits that bill.

Would be a big blow to lose DJ as that would starting next season with a band new half back pairing and that very rarely works.

A little too much smoke around this story for their not to be some fire in my opinion. Good luck to him, he has gone well for us overall in his time with us.

Yep, we all know how the climate changes 100 or so miles away.

Softened by the blow that he will be playing for a better team, bigger crowds, better stadium, winning more games, bigger pay cheque (probably), and paid on time.... overall... a better club if the truth be known.

The east of the country is a lot drier than the west; the Hull area colder in winter and slightly warmer in summer than the Salford area.

no wonder Hull is bottom of the GCSE table, due to the Pennines Salford will have a different climate to a City on the North Sea coast, I know we were a port but 34 miles inland.

i know hull isnt paradise i have 22 years of experience of that but been to a few worse places and salford is well up there with them lol

I seem to remember Hull being voted worst place to live in Britain in one of them "Lonely Planet" publications.

Well that was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Whilst I wish not to pass comment on Hull, I must say hold on a minute with regards to the Salford comments. This city is genuinely on the up with many beautiful areas of note.
Granted, it has some pretty rank areas but even these have improved in recent years.

Time to get rid of the stereotype me thinks.

I believe Hull tabled a bid for Holdsworth a couple of years ago which prompted Salford to offer him an improved 3 year deal , then Patten signed and the club signed some more ' higher profile players ' ( for Salford ).

however the last two seasons have been the most bizzare i've ever experienced , and after these Holdsworth wanting out wouldn't be a huge surprise to me anyway.

given the depth of the amateur game in the East Riding i've always wondered why the Hull teams always seem to be looking outwards or overseas for half back talent?

It's also perverse that it's Bradford in Admin. but it is Salford who seem to be doing it's best to balance the books who are under constant rumour of losing it's players.

If he does go then thats us pretty much supplying half of SL with half backs in the past few years . and I think that says as much about the lack of talent in the other teams as much as it highlights our inability to retain players.

if DJ decides to leave then so be it. Personally I hope he does stay , but either way we need to move on , with or without him. We have a under 20s team joint top at present , so lets get them in the 1st team. Before anyone starts on when and if we should bring them in , I say there is no time like the present. Also I am a big fan of Sean Gleeson , he has made his bed for next year so he shouldnt be in the squad now. The team needs to move on in my opinion and start bringing these young guys in.

this guy , in my opinion , should be starting every game for us. We need to start taking chances on the players who want to play for us before we lose them to other teams.
