Fair enough. Tremendous attendance for a London game that.
Although no doubt there'll still be people claiming it was due to the away team bringing twice as many. So that's the 52 accounted for

| Despite there being virtually no away support, there were definitely more in the West and South stands. Although a little higher than I thought it'd be, 5250 is a good attendance. Hopefully for the Leeds match there'll be a big bumper crowd.

| How glad are we all that despite a lowish turn out we didn't have to mingle with the likes of that numpty Dantes Infernal with his self confessed desire not to line the pockets of Mr Salford.
It just enhances the experience.

| With all honesty I can't believe there were over 5k in there last night. I reckon the South Stand (where I stood) was around 80% full which equates to around 1600 IIRC? The west stand was fuller than I thought but maybe around 50-60% full? If that holds 5000 then I'd have thought we were looking at around the 4.5k mark. Even so I was thinking pre match only about 2.5k would turn up!
With a decent performance in France we can hopefully pull in 8k or so against Leeds.

The west stand had about 3500 in it never seen it so packed, south had about 1700+ seats around me which were normally empty we're all taken up, great crowd against the fulham broncquins!

Just to confirm I HAVE NEVER EVER BEEN BANNED FROM THIS SITE at anytime as mods will confirm. It was stopped due to double posting's, people with more than one alias. Now i wonder who that was Lyrad Red. Ha ha who's the sad one now. You're not from Salford, so go on back to lobby land with Starbug. Stalker
Back on thread great win, was hoping we'd nil London but Adamson's pathetic attempt to down Kafusi made sure that was never going to happen. Really am impressed with the playing, coaching staff. I wish the same could be said from the wats upstairs.

| Right - to the best of my knowledge, Dantes hasn't been banned in the past. This forum has always taken a very light touch approach compared to other forums who ban all sorts. [uHowever, if people keep derailing threads to put across a repetitive point, or keep bickering with each other, that position may be changed in order to try to safeguard decent discussion[/u - the quality of which had picked up this week.

| Cracking crowd against London. It is great to see Salford on the up and I would love to see a big Salford team getting good crowds. If you can get 5252 against London I think you will be pushing 10,000 against the likes of Wigan and Warrington (providing of course the team keeps playing well). Well done!

the stadium scoreboard listed 5,252, and the BBC/ and other sites quote 5,250
M.E.N's Journo ( can't bring myself to write his name ..) had it down as 4,162 however he's incapable of writing anything down correctly . also Andy Wilson 'tweated' 4,162 , he must have been cribbing the idiot's notes, Even the Godfather of RL reporting Dave Hadfield , noted " sadly watched by only a meagre crowd at their new stadium."
WTF?
the main west stand was pretty full and that has a capacity of 4,500 , the south terrace holds 2,500 and was nicely packed too ,
The stadium shut the North ( away Terrace ) and the smaller all seated East stand , to lower stewarding requirements ,
The North Stand , is primarily for away support and Wigan Cas & Hull have filled it quite nicely so far . it would great to see all stands open and if Salford continue playing such an expansive brand of rugby I think attendances will continue to escalate .
In the scheme of things a 5,250 attendance isn't alot to shout about , However it's the largest attendance we've had against London in SL .

| Furry muff guys, I'll take your words on the attendance, I'm one of the last to slag our crowds off BTW. FWIW, 5000+is a pretty decent effort. I just pray to god that some of our 'fair weather' support can drag their ar$es off the settee in future & come & be part of the Salford City Reds revolution!

| Of the two crowds 4,162 appears more realistic than 5,250. Last night was the largest turnout of Salford fans of the three games so far but going off the the previous matches we would have needed to generate 1,700 new supporters there last night and with the best will in the world that didn't happen.
I don't believe any of the crowds for each match so far, each game has seen two attendances and currently we have three crowds for last night. It appears someone is just pulling them out of the air.

Where's the 4162 coming from? Sky and bbc had 5250 for there attendances, and more to the point it was flashing on the score board after the game, and why can't an extra 1700 turn up? If 1700 people who went the games brought family or friends with them there's your extra 1700 it's not that hard to understand. Im sick of all this negativity on here it's like some Salford fans get a kick out of things going t1ts up at the club, you probably didnt think 10000 turned up for our last game at the willows. Typical bad attitude that's holding the club back!

Yes and can't those sponsors be fans of the club? My boss is one of the sponsors at Wigan, he's a huge wigan fan, if I sponsored the reds should I be taken off the attendance?

At the end of the day we need 8000 average to pull in the income to become one of the big boys according to JAW right? so even if that means sponsors and corporates make up a 1000 of that average the target income is still coming in that is needed to turn us into a top side. So what's the problem?

Read his post again he clearly said he didn't think 5000+ were at the match.

4,162 was quoted by someone earlier in this thread as the attendance for the match on Friday and The Guardian also printed that attendance. Like yourself I would also like to know where these dual attendances for both matches are coming from. I have emailed the club and am awaiting a response.
My comment about the 1,700 extra on the attendance is based purely on knowledge of the recent history of Salford RLFC and our consistent struggle to attract decent crowds and applying some basic logic to that. If these extra people did turn up, which I sincerely hope they did, then I hope this increase is replicated for all the remaining home games this season because we will be in for some superb crowds. I can assure you I would get nothing but pleasure from a successful Salford side and I don't get a kick out of things going wrong, on the contrary I am infuriated by it. I always find the comment on this forum that people's 'attitude' is holding the club back as laughable. Ever thought that the club themselves are holding us back?
The difference between the two reported attendances on Friday is 1,088. If the corporate was at full capacity of 750 that still leaves 338 additional attendees. Early Bath you are sensible poster who appears in the know with the internal workings of the club - can you shed any light on this?

| I was very pleased with the turn out on Friday, regaurdless of which figure is correct think we'd all agree that both were more than we expected and significantly up on previous seasons. You can't even throw the it's the curious traveling fans into the equasion as there were not more than 200 London fans tops on Friday so that hardly matters. No think the old adage about watching a team playing decent rugby and winning games stands true in this case, can you imagine when the really big teams come and we hopefully can give them a run for thier money what the crowds will be like then??
