| TAKEN FROM THE SPORTINGLIFE.COM.
The 52-year-old former Bradford, Wigan and Great Britain coach was presented on Tuesday as the Reds' successor to Phil Veivers at a press conference at the Salford City Stadium.
Noble, who has been without a club since leaving Crusaders at the end of the 2010 season, said: "It's very exciting. There is an urge to get back in."
Noble said he plans to bring in an assistant but confirmed current assistant coach Sean Long will remain part of the club's backroom staff, along with caretaker coach Alan Hunte, who will stay in charge for Sunday's Challenge Cup tie against the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham before handing over control of the team.
Salford chairman Marwan Koukash said: "I am absolutely delighted and honoured to have Brian as our head coach."He knows the potential of the club and believes in my vision."

| I must admit to being one of those who was initially a little underwhelmed at the pospect of Noble coming in as the new Head Coach. Have to say, I already believe it's going to be a great appointment. Any Salford fan who questions anything positive the club is attempting to do, needs to think back 5 short months to last December.
All the jealous sniping about how far he can/ cannot take us is futile. The man will clearly not stand for any time wasters, or as he put it, 'mercenaries'. I love the way he has already said the club won't have 'their pants taken down' (so long Mr Morley) - he's probably viewed it going on at Salford from afar for years. I believe he is what the club has been crying out for for decades: the epitome of professionalism.
He won't let us down.

I haven't seen the conference but read the quote on a twitter account and I took it to mean any player who signed for Salford would not have their pants taken down ie they would be paid, unlike at other clubs ie Crusaders.( But I could be completely wrong !)
Quote ="Michigan red"
With the Castleford game being targeted as a bit of a brand relaunch you'd hope that new merchandise, playing shirts going on general sale and possibly some sprucing up of the concourses might be on the cards.'"
As the Castleford game on the 27th is a Ladies Day it may be a suitable time for a 3 game ticket for the price of 2.
Next 3 home games all against Yorkshire opposition - Cas,Bradford and Wakefield;last one on Sky tv.The Bradford game could easily have a strapline,as that is where Noble won things.
As hopefully we are still in the Challenge Cup after Sunday then a half-season ticket could be sold for the remainder of the campaign as this should give season ticket holders priority for the CC game ticket allocation.
Having checked the record of Noble he has 3 Grand Finals,3 World club Championships yet only 1 CC Win.
Emphasis should perhaps be made on the CC as success in the tournament will certainly raise the profile of the club.

| He said the club won't have it's pants pulled down salary wise & ANY player signed must want to play for us, not just be in it for the money. May not be any new signings in for the rest of this season due touch of available quality.

The Dr did say when he first took over was to get our " boys " back....... does Scott Naylor count?? Cant see it myself.
Exciting times do seem ahead now. The backroom staff seems to be taking shape nicely. Hopefully our fan base will improve too ( im sure a few decent wins will help!!).

| Why would either Robbie Paul or Scott Naylor be anything other than a help to the cause?
To clarify, and to quote Nobby:
"First and foremost you have to want to play here, it ain't no good pulling in a load of mercenaries, it just doesn't work, trust me"
"...you've got to want to come and do something for this club...nobody's going to have their pants pulled down round here, it's not gonna be throwing moneybags at the problem".
BTW I've read he's being linked with the poisoned chalice at Cas, but would love to have Rhino back as an assistant. Defensive coach?

| Just seen the interview on the Comics website and I have to admit that Noble comes across as being passionate and well versed on what is needed for the club. Think there are some home truth's already being spoken about the Marquee signing being Australian with the vast gulf in salary caps so think we can forget about signing the Ozzy back line anytime soon, do think players with 'baggage' like Duggan are your only bet for really high quality imports but guess that's a decision the powers that be at the club need to take about the risk of doing that.
I am really pleased with the noises being made about not being taken for a ride on salaries as was really worried that someone Morley might be brought in on a stupidly high salary.

I actually think it will be a benefit that Noble hasn't coached for a couple of years. He will be fresh and hungry to put his mark on the club.

Pressed all the right buttons,I thought.

Considering the good doctor has a management consultancy, I'm sure he & Noble are more than capable of assessing the level of risk Duggan poses. There are very few players of his quality available, and if he wants to get back on the straight and narrow we may have to take that risk. If Morley wants to come for salary that reflects the amount of minutes he's capable of playing, the pride of playing for the team he supported as boy could work in our favour and bring in some extra local support.
I still believe we need to beat Warrington to the punch and get Darryl Clark. Other than that Frank Pritchard is out of contract, who would be immense in SL, and Graham might be a possibility, considering the bad press he got towards he end of last season.

1. One benefit of having a Coach of Nobles Past experience & knowledge of the game is he will be able to control the urge to splash out on ' ill judged ' signings , and one pleasing comment - small steps or big steps , but the right steps , the other good response to the questions raised at the press do was - he would only bring players in this season if they were the right players .
2. Re so called Marquee signings , Any Current NRL stars are basically a non starter , for the financial reasons explained in the conference , Jamie Soward , mentioned by Ed Farish earlier in the season as a ' player we were talking to' has just signed a 4 year deal with Penrith [url=http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/dragons-star-jamie-soward-to-join-penrith-panthers-in-2014/story-e6frexqi-1226622772010Dragons star Jamie Soward to join Penrith Panthers in 2014[/url.
The only player from NRL would be those with talent who have erred so much no other NRL club will touch them , or those who want to escape the intense scrutiny of NRL attention - aka Joel Monaghan at Warrington - Jamie lyons at St Helens went he went AWOL . their risk factor would be assessed against their impact if they get their act together.
So we still may have to risk 150-250K + for a bonefide but troubled ' Star ' and he may turn out to be a doughnut .

Noble is mearly playing it down I think to keep everyone's guard down, otherwise why would he stay over in australia for so long? (Package holiday perhaps)

This gulf in pay between Superleague and the NRL/Rugby Union is very concerning.
The 'powers that be' are more concerned about the disparity of pay in our own competition than they are about the actual competition.
If this is allowed to continue the quality of rugby will suffer and the british game could return to the low attendance levels witnessed in the 1970's before Hull and Wigan lit the blue touch paper in the early 80's with big investment.

Granted, he did create that bad publicity for himself.
If the Aussie press makes life difficult for him, he could return to the UK. I seem to remember Morley had a hard time the disciplinary committee out there, some of his shots were high, but there were/are worse tackles that go unpunished.
