I expect nothing but a massive spanking in this one. I got my hopes up last year for a few minutes before that awful 2nd half performance. I'd be very surprised if they didn't put 50+ on us. As much as I hate to say it as I really don't like (to put it mildly) W*re I think they may go all the way to the GF this year.

I have to go because my lad is playing for his school in the curtain raiser, otherwise I may be tempted to miss my first Salford-Wire match for years. I get enough jip ( Salford fan living, working & coaching in Warrington) as it is without them putting a cricket score on us

Is it worth buying your tickets in advance for this game?

Usually roll up 10 mins before kick off after a few pints in the town but are Warrington expecting a big turn out from their fans? I know we will only take the usual 500 or so.

Hes on my Planet for a start Bonita. I havent joined your anti Ratchford campaign either as I view the squad over performances over 18 months rather than 18 minutes.

I fear Jaymcs comments on another thread re SMcs dislike of the lad may well be true judging by his current treatment.

I am saddened by the fact we cannot accommodate all players with talent especially in a side which is not setting the world alight just yet.

For me Stef is worth at least a place on the bench as he is a matchwinner as was shown late on again in the U20s match on Saturday.

Hopefully we shall continue with the expansive approach especially as we have some very good backs this season and maybe that change of emphasis will continue on Friday. Reg Holdsworth is my type of player with his flat passes, links and lovely cut out passes and our threequarters will only benefit this seaspn from his promptings.

Parker is out indefinitely and Luke is a doubt but Jezza is available again and who knows we might see our big U20s second rower given a chance soon. Certainly has the build.

lets hope we actully play good in both halfs in this game.hope we bring a few fans again.i just dont wanna lose the game after 20 minutes like we did against hull kr crusaders and wakefield.Wonder if myler will get booed by most off our fans

You shouldn't have any problems walking up. Our average attendances have been higher this year by all means, but the West stand still usually has plenty of room in it.

I am certainly NOT anti Ratchford at all.

He is a class player as I have stressed all along.
Class is permanent.

However it was clear from pretty much the start of the season that Holdsworth was far the better link man and we fannied around trying to accomodate both by,for example,moving Swain into the second row.
Prestwich Red is at it again by moving three or four positions around to accomodate him.
That is daft.

Good idea to have him on the bench but coach seems to want impact hooker/acting half back and maybe he doesn't fancy him in that role.

'' The coach doesn't like him'' is a cop out unless there is an attitude issue ,and I've no idea whether thats the case.

Parker is injured so a ideal move would be Alker to second row.
IMHO Matty Smith would be a better hooker as his distribution at the PTB is very good.
Ratchford to SO and Holdsworth at SH.
You then have J Smith on the bench as a interchange.
That looks a exciting 3/4 line to me.

thats what i got told on sat night that mcrae doesn't like ratchford. Didn't give me a reason. We were both in agreement that ratchford is a quality player. Too good for 20's level anyway.
