| Quote ="GT"But things are now a lot different to the Willows where you could just have the odd token yellow jacket knocking about and nobody ever questioned it. It's a privately owned stadium with stringent safety regs that cannot be breached - whilst those running it will, quite rightly as it's run on a profit basis, will not want to risk the extra charges incurred via G4S for opening extra stands if it's not a viable option.
And 12 notes is hardly breaking the bank.'"
I accept that the Health and Safety brigade have a lot to answer for and your correct about procedure.
I also agree that £12 isn't a bank breaker for some but if you have an adult bringing two kids it isn't then just £12 I think I am right in saying that if they are over 5 then that would cost you £22 and that may be the differance in attending or not.
Go for economies of scale and pitch the price at £10 and £2....£14 for a family of three leaving decent change out of £20.
Surely as far as Salford are concerned Sunday is about trying to show that the club can get bums on seats not if it can raise a few extra quid, if that does happen then all well and good.

| I know this is prob out of Salford's hands but only having the west stand open is crazy, you are all trying to rally everyone around who went to last game at willows but if they all turned up less than half if them would be able to get in !!!!! How were the pre sales for that last game at willows, I'd have a guess at not many with a massive walk up on the day. It could very well happen again on Sunday with a disastrous outcome.

"Health and Safety brigade"? How to lose any credibility in an argument. You'll be talking about the PC brigade next. It's nothing to do with this perceived "Health and Safety" brigade - H&S regulations have always existed in sport, it's just that when you own your own ground and using your own stewards, some paid some voluntary, it's easier to flout said laws than stick to them. G4S and the SMC won't flout any laws as they, quite rightly, don't want to get screwed over.
I agree that it's a bit sh*t, but this is the world we live in. The other question is, is it really a gamble worth taking? Are we really going to have 5-6 thousand people turn up on spec on the day itself?

5-16 year olds is £3. So, buying your tickets from the ground, that's 1 £12 ticket and 2 £3 tickets costing £18. Cheaper than an adult ticket for a normal Super League fixture.

Ideally, yes. Realistically, I think deep down we both know what the reality is going to be. Although I do hope I'm wrong and will quite happily come on here and hold my hands up if I am.

| Incidentally having purchased my tickets yesterday i was charged £22 for one adult, one child and a student aged 17. Not properley reading the values I simply assumed a student under 18 would be granted entry at child rates.

| GT is absolutely right. H&S is a necessary fact of life these days and cannot be avoided (Hillsborough anyone?).
I do agree with Marshy though that at least part of Sunday's objective should be to make a statement to potential backers and the local public. I'd actually go further and suggest that out of adversity lies a bit of an opportunity to drag in people who don't usually attend, in a similar way as we did with the last (botched) game at The Willows.
Unfortunately, I'm yet again left feeling let down and frustrated by the lack of action from the club (is it any shock we're in this mess?).
Where have the rallying calls been? How have we reached out to the local public and the rugby league community? Where has the passion, imagination and innovation been? Why haven't the club at least been firing out press releases and emails encouraging people to rally behind them?
I know from my contacts in the game/media that people are willing to help but they're increasingly frustrated by our club's inability/unwillingness to help itself.
All we get is the same tired excuses (no budget etc). But how much does it cost to hit send on an email?
We're heading towards the abyss yet once again we're sleepwalking towards the cliff top!
What's worse is that the Stirling efforts of volunteers like Forever Reds and Louise Woodward have put the club's lack of industry/initiative to shame.
I've got the same sense of frustration as I did over the debacle of the last ever game at The Willows only this time our entire future is on the line! Shame on you, Salford!

There was no argument I merely said that "they had a lot to answer for"...the fact I added brigade seems to have caused the problem.

If that situation arises it will be ironic since Swinton's last ever game at Station Rd was v Salford.
However it certainly won't be the last game for Salford as i am sure a new company will be formed and you will continue to play Rugby league. At the end of the day it is only a company that will be dissolved, the history can never be removed.

The only "argument" in my post appeared because I hate it when people use "the Health and Safety brigade" as a derisory term. I can't see an argument in the rest of my post?
By the way - students are always classed as concessions, never children. I don't know where you got that idea from?

Not even a mention of the fundraising or the importance of attending the game on Sunday on the official club website sums it all up.
I hope the coaching staff take to the field for the deserved applause for their professionalism throughout this
whole farrago.Wonder what Shannan McPherson thinks of rugby league in England after arriving at Wrexham and then here at Salford ?

See my earlier post it was obvious Swinton with their Salford connection in the coaching staff would help out.Sorry but dont understand you only opening one side seems a crazy idea.Standing area should have been open also.

there is 4,500 fully covered seating in the main West Stand.
From SCS this morning -" We can only justify opening the west stand at the minute with the current sales so may sell out if people arrive on the day "
Last years friendly on the 7th Jan against Leigh was the 1st competitive fixture for Salford at the New ground but only pulled in 2,800
TBH if we sell out the west stand on Sunday I will be surprised.

If Sale go down, I can't wait for the quote from both clubs saying: We can only justify paying £50,000 service charge next year. Take it or leave it.

| I can't make the game today as lying in bed witha virus and struggling to physically stand up, nevermind get to the ground As I was going to pay on the gate I'll instead donate my ticket money to the FR fund. For those that are going can you please make sure you do the following..........
1) Show your appreciation to Swinton for their generous offer to share the gate receipts
2) Show PV, the players and the coaching staff that we are 100% behind them.
3) No negativity - if there are any investors out there we want them to see what a great bunch of fans we are.
4) Have a bloody good sing! If this does turn out to be our last match in our present guise make sure it's something to remember.
Bring on the Salford!
