Very inconsistant. Can be great for patches in a game and then is awful. If he was more consistant he would be a great SL player. He tries hard but struggles with following a game plan or structure as looks to try and pull off something thats near impossible. Personally Gleeson is better than Penky as he is calm and is a better passer of the ball. However I wish Penky well and hope he can get more consistancy in his game at Salford.

Penky needs to be played at hooker and not Halfback. He's very quick around the ruck thats his strength. But if he plays halfback he tries to do to much. Play him at hooker and allow him to occasionaly move to halfback in the game to add that bit of variety to the attack, thats when he plays his best.

Not SL standard his passing can be terrible and has several off field issues

Might he have less off field issues at a club where the coach doesn't take his players out on regular benders?

if this rumour does come in then penky will be a very good interchange hooker, his speed and creativity around the ruck will give us that extra half yard which we have lacked.

Well if that turns out to be true i for one will be delighted. Penky has been in for far too much stick in recent times and i think he deserves a bit of credit for what he has done at Fax in the past. Here`s to his future whether at Halifax or elsewhere!

As Martin Offiah said he can see why Salford fail to attract top players.

Sounds like he was offered more money at fax, which is why we didnt get him.

he agreed new deal with fax a few months ago, more like salford did not want to pay compensation.

So a club which went bust a couple of years ago and scrounged around obtaining cash from bucket collections offers more money than the Reds?

Is it any wonder that we have stayed solvent for nigh on 100 years whilst these comeday goday merchants scrape up more borrowed money?

If we borrowed more than we could afford to service then we would get the finest players in the world. Mind you we would be up the creek without a paddle in a matter of months if the club ever went that route. So lets keep things as they are please.

what Swifty says is probably right actually, with us being a championship club Salford probably tried to pay as little compensation as they could and as is our right as the club that Penky has a contract to then we have every right to reject you if the compensation you are offering is below what we expect for a player of Penky;s standard especially at championship level.

i hope we keep him, penky will be devestating next season playing behind a pack that is going to win oh so many battles for feild position next year.

but IMO Penky playing with better players in his best position Penky is Super League quality.

Just to correct you, Fax did not go bust. They had an unforeseen cashflow problem which, with the help of much appreciated donations from RL fans and a donation/loan from the previous chairman, they managed to overcome.

This was a major wakeup call for the club which resulted in a full financial reorganisation. Subsequently, according to a statement by the current club chairman only last week, the club is now trading at a profit. How many RL clubs can say that?
