The interview was solely to confirm that it is Mrs Koukash behind the bid and to ask about the 'conflict of interst' issue raised on the social media. The format for the interview would have been sorted before the camera rolled.

Did the interview convince you it was her behind the bid?

| Let's be honest if the Doc did increase his influence within RL circles would that be a bad thing for the game? The RFL aren't exactly covering themselves in glory with the way they are running things so maybe someone shaking things up at HQ is what is needed for the betterment of the sport in the UK.
You'd also think that on some level the Doc's increased (OK the Koukash family) interest/involvement in RL would draw in other investors, pretty sure when he bought the club he said he knew of others (possibly in the horse racing fraternity) who would be interested in investing.
I say good luck to him, it's his money if he wants to spend it I say we are fortunate he wants to do so in the game we all love.

I'd very much welcome his increased influence.
He's great news for our sport.
One family owning 2 teams in a 12 team competition is wrong at every level.

| Just wait until his daughter wants a club. She seems to be enjoying herself at Salford and also appears to have caught the bug. It cant be too long off her 18th now, beats a new car doesn’t it!

It is a simple plan. The Doc will transfer a lot of players from Salford to Bradford for minute transfer fees, and then dump Salford in the close season after Salford have been relegated.

| There seems to be an incredible amount of RL savvy being thrown about by some opposition fans. They seem to know the future, stating an idle fantasy as some form of truth. We've heard it all before...
A GP from St Helens, a fraud, a short-term Larry. You name it.
Amazingly, even with this Nostradamus type prophetic RL insight, not one of them have got it right yet.
It's mildly amusing, especially as it pops-up in every other thread.

| Does anyone know what Mrs Koukash did as a career before becoming Mrs Koukash? My initial thought is that she is a front for Marwan, bet perhaps this is doing her a dis-service.
From a selfish point of view, I would have preferred to see some success at Salford before the family branched out, and became distracted with other concerns.
My worry is that they have realised than the crowds at Salford will never be 20k, and Bradford would become the star project.

| Quote ="stouffer"You'd better get used to it. Also some vague nonsense about 'doing it the right way'.'"
I’d love for someone to tell me the last time a club won an honour off the back of its own community’s income alone.
Quote ="Dita's Slot Meter"Do we all stop beating around the bush and accept this Bulls's proposal for what it seems to be, and that is Mr Koukash simply strengthening up for more future battles with those at the top of the RFL?'"
Quote ="bewareshadows"It does give him a better strategic position. He now gets 2 votes on all matters SL.'"
Quote ="Wirecutter"If it's to just win another vote on the marquee signing rule it seems an expensive manoeuvre.'"
I think, if Koukash is going to buy two more clubs for proxy votes to sway the marquee rule in his favour, some clubs that voted for the motion previously could very well change their mind. Thus making this manoeuvre pointless.
Quote ="Walshovski"If it transpires that Marwan is funding this takeover and his wife is just a front (and let's be honest this is the most plausible explanation) then the RFL should block the move.'"
Quote ="Michigan red"Let's be honest if the Doc did increase his influence within RL circles would that be a bad thing for the game? There is that, but there are other ways and means of influencing change. Brian Snape decided to do this by being active on RFL committees and sub-commitees and bringing people round to his way of thinking. The only issue with this way is that it took him and other Chairmen with the same views around 3–4 years to push through a shake up at the top. However, when in the meat of this process, Snape threatened to resign from all of his RFL appointments, a lot of the media was on his side. You get the impression Koukash wants its done yesterday and I’m not sure this Veruca Salt attitude will win him many allies.
Quote ="SRLFC JK"My worry is that they have realised than the crowds at Salford will never be 20k, and Bradford would become the star project.'"
Quote ="TheDoc"If this takeover happens then I would get ready for the good doctor to jump ship with Mr Noble. Bradford has a bigger fan base and more potential in the good doctors eyes. Unless Salford can start attracting 10000 crowds regularly, then Bradford will be his new home in the not too distant future.
For Salford's sake. let's hope they are unsuccessful in their bid.'"
Well there is a comparison to be made with the Glazer families holdings with Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Manchester United. Buccaneers fans and commentators have criticised the Glazers for concentrating on United while allowing their team to dwell in the doldrums of the NFL. However, I think this is different in that it would be far more brazen to do when both clubs are playing the same sport, in the same league.
Quote ="Dita's Slot Meter"Can he 'advise' more 'family members' to save more cash strapped clubs and possibly even set up his own breakaway league?? - I'm sure the likes of Simon Moran and Ian Lenegan would be interested in jumping ship if the chance arose.'"
Possibly. Breakaways of this sort have reared their head before. Taking 1895 and 1995 as read, in 1986, for example, ten ‘leading’ clubs — Bradford, Halifax, Hull, Hull KR, Leeds, St Helens, Salford, Warrington, Widnes and Wigan — threatened a breakaway to form their own ‘Super League’ in an attempt to change the RFL position on voting power. In 1998, Wigan’s chairman Mike Nolan believed Super League was on the verge on going it alone, in the best commercial interests of those clubs.
If Koukash has the amount of money and clout that has been suggested by a couple of press outlets, then perhaps it could happen. I think he needs more allies though.

Granted. But it took 3/4 years for us to be proved right about The Crusaders. Time will tell I'm sure, theres more to this than RL

Sadly, my wife's bid to buy the Bulls will not be the winning one. As she understand, it was not the highest bid
Can't say I'm unhappy with that. Have to focus on our own problems before we worry about the 'greater good' of the sport as a whole...

| You should enjoy the attention.
It's far better to be in people's interest than, everyone just expecting you to be bottom of the league and not worth discussing at all, apart from the match day who should we rest thread.

That's all well and good, but as a 'Small numbers' forum we proportionally attract a high number of mentally challenged, and I'm not excluding our own 'fans' here. It's not the debate that I want to go, just the reams of drivel that can only be described as the equivalent of stuffing all your keyboards letters up your ass, and explosively firing it onto your monitor.

Thanks Butcher I don't quite know whether that's a compliment, but, I've had worse ha ha
Regarding the matter at hand, old news now I know but was Mrs K a real proposition for Bradford either in her own right or as front for her husband? I haven't read any detailed news transcripts on the subject but seeing them both on the balcony at Odsall waving just looked a bit daft IMO like the GF airplane banner episode. The fact that they appear to have dealt themselves out early and publicly seems to reinforce this?
I can see a logic with Swinton to some degree, same city, different leagues, collaboration and development potential and a smaller project without sounding completely misogynistic for the little woman, whereas Bradford is a difficult nut for anyone to crack on a first go.
I don't think I'd be too happy for Moran or his 'missus' to be stood waving at Bradford or anywhere else for that matter unless we were playing

| They are certainly saying nice things about 'Special K' over at Bradford and have even started a petition to get her to takeover at Bradford Bulls as their saga continues.
Best be careful - the last female from that part of the world,Sarah Bennison, disappeared as quickly as she arrived on the scene.

| Personally if I was a Salford fan I wouldn't be too keen on mrs koukash taking over at Bradford. Bigger club bigger fan base. I am not sure what your crowds are like but I have a vague memory of mr koukash being less than impressed with attendances, and he appears to have very lofty expectations for the first season finish. If these are not met I could see more resources being put into Bradford than Salford.
I actually like mr koukash being involved in RL. Outspoken gets the game into the press and pushes the status quo. But not sure the RFL would be too pleased with him having the power in two clubs regardless of what they say in public
