There is another Salford connection in the World Cup. Ex-conditioner Alex Corvo is the Aussie Squad's head conditioner. After the state of our relegated team in 2002 I was amazed to hear that news, and then even more amazed to find that since he left Salford he's been Melbourne Storm's conditioner. Maybe he's had better resources and team culture than he had at Salofrd in 2002.'"
Was he not 'aussieland'?

Ah yes, I'd forgotten that. So not just a Salford link, a former user on the Turkey. Can anyone remember his patter on here? Was is generally talking about the players lack of application?

Was mainly about Bobby Goulding doing lots of showy stuff to make the fans think he cared whereas in fact he was just ruining the team plan from what I remember. Never knew it was Corvo though

| Well after today's result I guess we're fairly happy that they're not labelled as Salford players

| S'au looked a bit of a handful but possibly not as fit as he could be.
The try right at the end showed what we have to look forward too, think his power and small size close to the line will make him nearly impossible to stop.
Thought Hock tried hard and for me you could tell he knew he was fighting for his place.

Terrific lung capacity when he led the Samoan Haka.
If he ain't selected and elects to stand amongst the fans we will certainly be the most vociferous.

I remember Aussieland's postings as being extremely details analyses of recent matches. Real eye openers in some cases. I particularly remember one criticism of Bobbie Goulding, where he pointed out that there were entire sets of six where Goulding just walked along behind the play and didn't touch the ball at all, which was obviously not what was required of your main creative half-back. Fascinating stuff.

It was Matterson who signed him for the 2006 campaign at Castleford - where he signed a further extension.
He left there when the contract expired and Millward was in charge.
He seemed quite proud of representing the USA.
I hope the personal reasons are not too serious.

Salford's teenage half-back Theo Fages will make his full international debut tonight infront of a sell-out home crowd after impressing coach Richard Agar following the France PNG game.
At half back partnering Thomas Bosc

| Excellent news, he can show everybody what we've seen from him this season. Unbelievable how he wasn't even nominated for young player of the year, hands down winner for me (bias aside!).

| Brilliant news.
My hope is that Theo makes it harder and harder for Noble with his half back pairings next season, though I thought when he came on at hooker last week there was enough there to utilise him there also.
Bet Shirley feels like a million dollars too.

His 1st ever SL start was against Wigan and he picked up the Man of the match award .
He follows in the family tradition in the halves with George Fages 1959 and Pascal Fages 1991.
It's in the blood

Massively proud of him!!! To play in the World Cup for your country is right up there.
Shows if you work hard & want it enough, it can happen.
Will be cheering at the TV like a woman possessed tonight.

| For a first full debut I thought Theo had a very good game defensively tonight especially for a young man who's only 19. I really think Theo will be pushing Rangi & Tim Smith next year if he gets the chance for a few games.
I thought Richard Agar decided to play a very structured safe offensive game tonight which nullified Theo's attacking skills.
Anyway well done Theo to add to a very good year.

Samoa were allowed to include Puletua as they have lost 3 players from their 24 man squad. See below )
Aus have only lost 1 ( Lewis ).
Lets hope Ireland nobble Inglis & Slater to even up the score
Quote Samoa have been able to add former Penrith back-rower Tony Puletua to the squad after three players were ruled out of the tournament, reducing their squad to 21 players.
Reni Maitua (groin) Harrison Hansen (leg) and Frank Winterstein (pectoral) are all injured.'"
