I get the impression that Ian Watson is hugely admired and trusted.
He has coached Phil Joseph and Gaz O'Brien at Swinton and Kopcsak has been in the Welsh squad at the same time.

I would guess Watson had more say in this signing, Joseph had two spells with swinton including 2011 when watson was player coach.

I feel the same about the signings. I'm quite happy that we seem to be signing players rather than 'personalities' that happen to be players.

not overly excited by the players signed tbh, guess that's because of 'the names' we've been used to. However quite a good balance. Would like to expect a smattering of a bit more quality as well to top it off and an interview with Tim about why certain players have been signed up.

The interview with Sheens says we're not spending the full cap in 2016 and implied that this was an RFL decision,unless I've misunderstood the point he was making.

Danny Kirkmond being released on Monday surely we'd be looking at him and so surprised we've not brought in a quality centre.

By the sound of it Monaghen is the centre and I would break the bank to get a decent Hooker. I think we can pick up a decent English2nd row (Kirmond) so would us the spot to try and get a worldy hookerto move the team forward

I just have massive reservations about Monaghan, if he was still good enough Warrington would not be letting him go, for me there is something in them letting him go.

Kirmond I'd take, very good player and possible captain material, hooker I think with Lee and Hood we are covered, maybe find a lower grade understudy to them and use when needed.

Having someone in the dressing room/sheds with big game experience will be vital now that Morley ain't there,though your signing Flannerz from Saints has that experience.

Slightly disagree, think your right about another 2nd row but with regards to Hooker, its a position we have neglected for years. Its not good enough to have a player who can do a job, we need an absolute top draw one. Its a key pivot position in the team and we haven't had a decent one for years who moves a team forward and scoots to put us on the front foot.
I think your comment about Monaghen is valid, however, if were moving him inside to centre I still think he has lots to offer. He is a points machine who doesn't have that bad an injury record. Usually I am against signing players over 30 but I think he could be worth it.

I'd shift Lee on as for me he is poor, he can occasionally have a good game but I am not convinced with him in any positition he has played. Hopefully the next couple of weeks will be interesting with recruitment and have to say, so far I'm happy. Sheens is the best singing the Dr has made since he bought the club! Happy fan this weekend

Does anybody know where this one came from and if there's any truth to it? Can be a good player on his day and has possibly gone a little stale at Wigan, like a certain Scott Taylor did. Would be more than happy to see him in our ranks.

Impact prop for me, think he will be in and out of the 17 as we have BMM, Griffin, Kopczak and 1 (if not both) of the Walnes who will do more minutes and therefore with the reduction in interchanges will be of more value.

RFL SL, won't allow us, as the club hasn't the income.
I.e. gate receipts, sponsorship, hospitality, to prove they can afford it.

Despite the wealthy owner, he isn't allowed just to bankroll us.

So next season, any additional money the club can generate, they can use to increase their spend, at present they cannot. ?

Not speculation, these were the reasons set by Sheens as to why they wont be operating to the full cap next year.

I can't believe that, ridiculous. This has really wound me up and can't be enforced surely, how are we supposed to compete/improve!!! We'll be in the same position as last year and what about other SL teams who have poor crowds and reliance on an owner ???!!!

Apart from the RFL,I suspect spending less suits MK.
He's been offloading the big earners with haste so the plan of 'flash the cash' and increased income will follow, has failed.
I'm quite comfortable with the new plan.
A well chosen squad,based on character not star quality,which is well coached will have more chance of success long term and a more sustainable financial model.
