| Quote ="Michigan red"I think the Doc is guilty of wearing is heart on his sleeve and becoming a fan, for what he's done he is deserving of unending gratitude.
I do feel from the get go he has been incredibly ill informed by the people surrounding him, there doesn't seem at any point to have been a grand plan more grandiose ideas. We should have aimed slow sustainable progression rather than the boom or bust mentality everything seems to have been subjected to.
I am deeply concerned that there seems to be serious issues behind the scene, I hope that the arrival of Sheens heralds a new way of doing things and I hope it isn't all too late.
As for the likes of HH and Chase wanting out let them go, players will always come and go, I suspect that some of the players are on inflated wages used too tempt them all in the first place.'"
Absolutely, he obviously feels a huge burden of responsibility and will share the pain and frustration of the fans. I'm sure the current situation is hurting MK more than anybody but it could be a blessing in disguise. Had we sneaked in the top 8 under Harris it could have perhaps masked deeper issues and we may have been no better off or worse off next year.
As difficult as things are right now it could be an ideal opportunity for the Doc to take a backseat approach and start afresh by allowing Sheen's to build a much stronger team for the future on more solid foundations. This newly marketed club for me lacks spirit and you have to ask why? This is one of the very first things that needs addressing urgently.

| Something that has always interested me since the Doc bought the club is the level of involvement the RFL have had.
It's well documented that Koucash knew nothing about RL before a chance meeting on a flight to Dubai and Nigel Wood badgering him to become involved in the sport.
You would have thought that when it became apparent that the Doc might buy Salford that the RFL would have stayed involved offering sound (well as sound as the RFL can provide on anything) advise on all matters RL and the running of the club.
It might be that the Doc rejected any such help or advise, I just find it odd that we seem too have a new white Knight who is getting closer and closer to the same scenario the old regime left us in.

| It's simple, Koukash needs to sit back and let Sheens run the show. All Marwan should concern himself with is making sure the players wages are paid correctly and on-time along with any other bills due. This alone would solve 90% of the troubles we're currently experiencing.

If I was guessing from what I've seen and heard,he's a guy who won't listen.
Always knows best.
Noble and Harris are solid RL men; Sheens even more so and across 2 continents.
No, he seems to fall out with everybody.
Worse still,he's very high profile so all our problems become big news.
He's doesn't seem to learn so can't see it happening now.
Depressing.

You only have to do the maths. It takes deep pockets to run a club like Salford in SL at maximum cap or near to cap with our small fanbase. We were basement dwellers but financially sound for years weren't we at the Willows, when the club was only spending about 1.2 - 1.4 million against cap. Recent history shows speculate and fail with Salford unfortunately.

I agree.
We need to be careful labeling another Messiah, especially one that's only here for another nine weeks.
I'm not sure what Sheens can actually do in such a short time. His ability lies in man-management, coaching, and training. Asking him to take on the role of Club 'go-to-man' for every problem area might be a step too far and asking him to work miracles in an area he will have limited experience in himself. Hopefully, he'll be getting stuck into the footy side of things.

| If Sheens makes one recruitment it must be a manager with a big pair of balls, from all accounts the Doc gets involved in the playing side of things so a no nonsense manager is needed who will basically ask to be left alone to do his job.
Someone like a Sheens himself in fact.

I can’t believe anyone who endured the 2008 season could believe that, even with those cup finals. The stench of death lingers below Super League – if you’re not in there, you are nowhere.
Not having a go mate but the stench of death that appears to surround Salford & Wakefield at the moment far out weighs that of the championship

| Are people seriously saying the Doc doesn't have enough money to run the club or pay the players?
I'd be very surprise given the very succinct way the Doc said every player has been paid on time or early since he took charge.

Docs says every player paid on time, yet Hock's left, Puletua left, Locke left, Walton left, Tasi leaving, Theo leaving, Chase leaving, Paterson leaving and Hansen unhappy. Hmmm.... Coincidental, I think not!

Think if that were to be the case he'd have been sussed by now, I think it's more likely to be that he does what most businesses do and pay things as late as possible allowing money to be kept earning interest for the longest possible time.

What businesses are these? I assume not very successful ones. If he is as rich as he makes out, then why would he need to earn the added interest on players wages.
I know if my company paid me incorrectly or continued to pay me incorrectly I wouldn't stick around.
Also, why do you think Gareth Hock and Kevin Locke both left for FREE despite Koukash paying considerable transfer fees for both? If you’re unsure of the term, look up ‘repudiation’. Any breach of a contract (ie not paying on time or in accordance with contract) allows players to terminate ‘at will’ and walk away from their contract. Not great business sense from our multi-millionaire businessman owner, eh? Same could happen with Rangi, Hansen and Theo.

The larger the business the later (or extended payment terms) they pay, this is based on my experience working for a very large multi national company. Big companies find the most spurious issues with invoices which is nothing but a credit management ploy.
What you find with people with more money than you or I will ever have in the bank is that it's never enough, they will find ways to make what money they have earn them as much as possible.
Odd I thought Hock was let go because let's be honest he's a bit of a bell end and a huge liability on the field and I'm pretty sure that Locke walking away is subject to ongoing legal proceedings.

| It would be nice if the club especially the Dr came out and actually gave a constructive press conference addressing the issues instead of just swearing and shouting and threatening legal advice at anyone and everyone.
The more concerning issue is, his antics on the playing side of things some fantastic players want out of the club and in Rugby League circles this is very damaging as what player in his right mind will sign for Koukash after hearing what others have gone through, I wish there was a plan b but we are lumbered with this lunatic for the foreseeable future. A lot of hardcore fans will be ground down to the point of no return.

| I don't understand how payment issues could have occured and if they have then you speak to your boss sort it out and crack on surely, not rocket science?!! However it makes me wonder if there other reasons re the club i.e. our league position and player rosta, (decisons not being made when loads of players were out etc and seeking quality loan replacements biggest mistake of the season we could have been comfortable now imo) etc...

No,he's not a Sandford type character.
He has a shed load of racehorses and the upkeep of those requires frequent and substantial payment.
I think it suits his purpose to be described as a billionaire, and he never denies it, and I can understand why he wants the club to stand on its own feet financially but it never has and never will.
This is partly about money, but mainly about the character and personality of the owner.
Things will not change.

If Dr K were not a billionaire (or damn near) then the horses could be funded by a third party or third parties. This is not an uncommon practice.
His enormous training conglomerate - and no doubt the substantial staff it requires - are based overseas. He can run a billion dollar business based in the Middle east from the UK but struggles with a very small business in Salford.

| I'd think it's more a case of the training business and horses are run by someone else but he seems incredibly hands on at Salford.
Does make you wonder what Vickers does with the Doc getting so involved.
We'd be better employing a proper CEO and the Doc becoming more of a figurehead than the current role he has seemingly doing a bit of everything.
