| Can you appeal,if so I would.I don't condone dirty play but I think 7 games is way over the top. The way we are going we will be playing Rugby Tig next.If he had been at Leeds he would have got two weeks in Spain.

| A real shame because he is a top top player. Love seeing him destroy teams (except Cas) and he has been in form comparable to his mos year. There was just no need at all for it.

| He was cited three times this weekend for lower limb dangerous tackles- only charged for one- that suggests to me that he has a certain technique he is using that is potentially dangerous. The RFL review panel seem to think similar. Add to that, that in this particular incident he actually made the time to go around the ruck to deliberately target a leg that happened to be the standing leg of a player who had surrendered the tackle. Did he intend to go out to injure? Only he knows,- but he DID intend on making a tackle to that particular leg in that instance. As far as I'm aware he hasn't publically apologised to ferres for the injury- in fact according to Harris before the hearing it was "unfortunate". Remember this is a player who laughed after breaking the jaw of another player.......

| It is bad news that Rangi cant play now for 7 games but i still think we have good cover for him. My main concern is Cory Paterson & Tommy Lee.

| It's hard to comment when you know a twitter/RLFans storm is brewing. We will miss Chase and the team will suffer from his absence. Whether he meant it or not, I do not know: players rarely CONSCIOUSLY plan any move but react in a way that is based on training, experience and skill. What Chase did is [uin reflection[/u wrong but I refuse to be drawn on what he intended to do. That is why we have laws and referees: to contain the reactions.
I know that the initial response of the crowd is for punitive revenge. Please enjoy it.
But why post it on here unless you are trying to force Salford fans into reactions theyhave not thought through? Sorry, you are all trolls. Please use VT where your comments are better situated.

interesting point. has chase been trained to target the lower leg - he has had three separate incidences reviewed following the Easter weekend - perhaps he has been asked to go lower than he usually does (cough cough). Coaches have been complaining about these types of tackles for a while. It appears to me that joint injuries like ankle and knee injuries are more prevelant than they used to be - it used to be muscle injuries like hamstring and bicep injuries which were the norm.

| I thought it was bang out of order Paul Anderson, head coach of Huddersfield, making the statement he did prior to the hearing and suggesting the RFL throw the book at him.( Yet when Dr K wishes Ferres well,he is castigated on Twatter.)
The selective amnesia brigade may need reminding of the even more dangerous 'tackle' by Ferres where there was a far more professional, family game reaction by St Helens - who reacted in just the same way following the Flower incident.

The question was: name an instance where a Leeds player committed a similar act to that of Chase at the weekend?
If you want cheap shot merchants then Hock is the worst, that's right he played for you! And what about his alleged social media comments?
Morley is no angel either.
Please respond to the original question if you can? If not then we can regard the comments re Leeds as baseless whining.

A somewhat ironic comment in a thread solely dedicated to people who want a whine.
It amuses me that opposition fans can come on here, create a thread while frothing at the mouth, and have the gall to take the moral high ground when every team has had incidents of varying degrees of seriousness take place. Chase did a bad thing, now he pays the price. At least in this incident correct justice has been provided where a lot of the time it can be very inconsistent. If you think that Leeds have been Angels for the past ten years and have never had a player err then you have ground to start pointing fingers. But we both know that that is not the case. Your nit-picking over a specific type of incident is to fail to see the point others were making. I personally think this is deliberate to keep the ball firmly in others courts rather than to admit that Leeds have had plenty of thugs, current and past do equally deplorable things. Now I'm not pointing the finger here and saying which incidents rank higher than others on a RL outrage scale. I'm just pointing out that you can't ignore the bigger picture in favour of cherry-picking the bits that make your point. That would be intellectually dishonest.
Every team has had plenty of players commit foul play. It's okay to make comment, but you risk making yourself look like a tool for taking the moral high ground where there isn't any. This goes for Salford fans too.

| Deary me, the outrage from certain opposition fans on this is embarrassing. Yes it was a bad tackle, but it certainly wasn't malicious. The manner in which Junior Sa'u forced the player the other way assisted with causing the injury it did. He has been banned for what I consider an excessive amount of games, leave it and move on.
From a personal point of view it's a real shame for Rangi, he's been in scintillating form this season and was surely an early contender for the MOS.

Suggest you read Red Eyes and Michigan's posts before posting again. Red Eyes made a comment that Leeds players would have not been treated in the same way as Chase had they made the same tackle. Plionrrhino purely asked for an instance where this had happened. The responses have been to list Hardaker, Ablett and Bailey as thugs. I purely pointed out that we can both go down that route and the question stil stands when have Leeds been treated differently in a similar situation? No moral high ground, no indignation as to Chases offence, just asking Red Eyes to back up his post.
If you are implying that The Disciplinary Committee is lenient on Leeds as opposed to other clubs, again give examples.
If you come out with a statement then back it up with facts, if not then you look the tool!

| I think people will find that I said Chase deserves his punishment, for me it was deliberate.
I do think that RL should look at imposing a system where if you injure someone with a dangerous act the person committing the foul remains sidelined as long as the injured player is out.

If you read my post I was making the point that it's pointless to try and compare specific incidents because even similar incidents can be judged differently. The only fair way would be to judge foul play as a whole, and even then no one set of fans can take the moral high ground. Something that quite a few have by starting a thread on our forum and venting forth their spleens like their Club's turds don't stink. Leeds players would have been treated differently. As would Cas, Wigan, Catalans, Dewsbury, and Swinton. Each incident is supposed to be judged on its merit at the time. Therefore it's a valid statement to say they'd be treated different. Some may infer bias to certain Clubs. I don't hold any evidence that says that's so, so I wont make comment. The trouble is, it goes both ways. I don't have evidence to show bias, and I'd hope that it would never happen. But equally, you don't have evidence to say that they aren't. So your point is void.

No one has forgotten the ferres tackle - least of all ferres. It was a particularly nasty tackle and could indeed have caused serious injury. There were a few differences - He immediately apologised on the field, he then apologised again later privately and publically. The tackle was not malicious or targeted but a freak outcome. He did spear the player but it was an unusual and unfortunate situation, Lomax wasn't tackled low and flipped -he made the tackle by grasping ABOVE the waist - certainly not how you'd expect a spear tackle to be made. He pleaded guilty rather than pretending he'd done nothing wrong.
The flower incident - flower and the club apologised publically and privately, flower admitted guilt as did the club.
you are comparing the reaction of saints to the reaction of Hudds but yet haven't compared the reaction of Salford to that of Hudds or Wigan. I think you will find that those admissions and apologies go a long way to the way St Helens reacted in both cases.

| Jools it seems you wont let this drop AFTER the sentence.
In some ways the length of the sentence could well have been increased by your Coach`s comments `Throw the Book at him` & Crabtree`s `Shouldnt happen in our game` - & this before the Hearing. Dreadful behaviour.
The punishment does not fit the crime in my opinion but like the Doctor - I Have accepted the position and am now moving on. I suggest you do too but........................beware the next indiscretion by a Huddfersfield player. `

| People on here need to get over themselves, RL is a hard sport played by hard men, fouls happen, injuries happen, but to suggest that a player is out for as long as the injury is stupid, what if a trip ended someones career? He got banned end of!
A fairer way would be that if a player got a 4 game ban for instance, that ban should be served against the team who lost the player ie the Giants, even if it took 4 years, and if the player leaves they take the ban with them, that way other teams wouldn't profit at the expense of an injured player of another club, and any team taking them on would be baggage and all

If you watch the footage you will see that the evil Mr Chase also apologised on the field after the incident on Friday (before being bundled out of the way by 'outraged' Hudds players). A strange reaction for someone who was apparently out to do in his opponent.
I note that sky have now picked the return Salford vs Hudds fixture as a TV game. They are obviously expecting it to be a tasty affair.
