| Chase appeared to be revelling in the banter with the Salford fans, with his constant childish gesticulating towards the away fans when behind the sticks.

| Quote ="Red Preacher"Your assertion, correct me if I am wrong, is that the amount of tax one pays, in percentage terms, determines how English one is? Thus, you are suggesting that Rangi Chase is more English than the queen, for example? That's an interesting and perhaps bizarre perspective on what constitutes Englishness.'"
The Queen is an interesting choice, what with the royal family being of German descent
I believe anyone who contributes to the country and not only lives here but intends to become a citizen should be classed as British. I'd rather have 100,000 Rangi Chase's in the country over 100,000 people on the dole who can't be bothered even looking for work.

I am of Irish Descent but consider myself English as I was born here.
I could play for Ireland or England at RL if I was good enough
This is due to the fact my Father was Irish and my Mother English.
Rangi Chase played for NZ Maoris and also the youth set up in his early days, he has not one bit of English blood in him.
Just because he has played over here for a number of years and wants to become a British Citizen does not make him British or English.
I use the same rule for cricketers, athletes or any other sportsperson who decides to suddenly become English.
If they are not good enough for their own country of birth then they are not good enough for us.
As for the dole comment.
I have lots of friends who have suddenly found them selves out of work and having to claim dole.
These are not freeloaders but people who due to the economic situation have found themselves out of work with little hope at present of getting back into employment.
Get back to reading the Daily Mail and be thankful you are one of the lucky ones with a job

I know there's a lot of people who are on the dole actively looking for work, but there's also a lot who don't bother looking for the work because they think being on the dole is easy money.
As for the Daily Mail, who wastes money on that rag? Or any paper for that matter.

| I'd say the bigger issues re Chase are firstly that he played [iagainst[/i England in the Exiles game last year, so did't seem all that set on being English 12 months ago; and secondly, looked like a rabbit caught in headlights against the Aussies in the 4-nations.

| Quote ="castigersdave"nice friendly fans Salford...NOT!!!! Did anyone else see what Ben Parker put on twitter (guy at Cas): Grown men and women throwing punches (and landing them) on one single cas fan stood with his wife and daughter, reminded me of 80's football.
Good friendly fans'"
What about the Castleford fans who punched and spat at a Salford from behind? What about the Castleford fan who ran over, threw beer everywhere, shouted a load of foul mouthed abuse at Salford fans and then ran off into a larger group of people to hide? In fact, said bloke ran into the arms of a woman after he'd legged it, so maybe he got caught up with after all.
But let's not facts get in the way of things.

| Let's not forget the Salford woman hit by a drunken Cas fan (male). The aforementioned "man" was hauled off by stewards. Let's not forget also, the 7 year old who was subjected to a tyrade of foul mouthed abuse by a Cas teenager at the end of the match on the way out of the ground because he happened to be wearing a red shirt and not a jaundice yellow one. Before anyone shouts me down the 7 year old was my nephew so I know 100% what happened.
It is funny how the only other trouble of this nature that I have jeard of this season also involved Castleford.....but of course that was all Wakefield fans fault wasn't it!!!! It's never their fault is it.
Oh! and I suppose there is full employment in Castleford is there???

What a petty post (and to be honest a petty thread).

He didn't know he could play for England until he was informed. Once he knew that [and was told by someone that wasn't Steve Mc) he immediately made the decision to play for England and asked himself to play for England. He very much considers himself English and sees this as home, getting away from his past in New Zealand.

If you don't like what you read on here lovie I politely suggest you stay on your own forum, rather than wondering across here just because you have managed a rare win this year. Had you lost I doubt you would have made an appearance, just like our lot yesterday.

| Just putting the cat amongst the pigeons, watched the SL show last night, Chase was stood behind all the cas team when he put the high ball up, thus meaning when it was caught by a Cas player they were offside, and the they even shown the Ashurst disallowed try, nowt wrong with it. Still we play crap and got what we deserved.

| Watching Superleague Full Time on Sunday, I have to say that I thought that the Ashurst pass did look forward. In some respects, I'm glad it got spotted as there's way too many of them in the game anyway but it was marginal and I've seen tries scored from passes like that given more often than not. I do agree though that from the angle shown, Huby looked to be well off side - perhaps that's what Patten was complaining to the Ref about just before the conversion was taken?
Finally, totally agree about being crap, deserved what we got after being 8 points up with 6 mins to go, if we play like that against Saints it'll be a cricket score.

| Talking about the try at the hooter in the first half, after the catch we were already heading to the dressing rooms and forgot to tackle to stop the play.

Nope, I thought that Patten was also being talked to just before Cas converted their final try - might have been mistaken though!

yep he was but on the SL show you couldn't tell the offside, but he must have been very quick to be where he was to catch the ball. Patten was practising catching the ball under the sticks before the kick off, perhaps a better practise would be somebody running in at him has he goes for the ball.
Photo 101 clearly shows Patten being impeded and obstructed from getting to the ball
