| Apart from.the advertiser highlighting the new stadium. What have the club actually done to market season tickets and the new ground? Not living in salford, have they done any advertising at all? Billboards people on the precinct handing out info leaflets, leaflets through letterboxes...etc..... also are we still with rock radio? Has there been any radio advertising? or have they as I suspect done nothing?

The club did have an opportunity to hand out a basic ' in plain English ' season ticket deal to 10,146 Salford fans in one afternoon , but that was beyond them.

| I'm surprised we've sold 90.
I'm not listing the reasons why, as I've done so several times on this forum and I'm beginning to sound like a broken record.
However, I've been following the Reds since 1997 and I've decided I am not following the Team to Barton.
I wish the Club all the best .......and for all those fans who've decided to carry on, God bless you all!

| Im sure a lot of people have felt the same rooted red, but the club NEED us now. I know they have messed up, got things wrong and generally been pretty amateruish, BUT, if us fans stick together and get the 8000 average we need to break even.....things COULD change beyond recognition and we might finally get the club we deserve. Things have been bad, but I cant walk away now without giving them a chance to turn it round at the staidum. Spread the word people lets get barton full!!

| Red1 I admire your optimism, yes I am probably one of the 1000 or so who as already renewed my season ticket, out of loyalty not out desire but I do wonder how long my loyalty will remain. I so hope I am proven wrong & things go right on the pitch & we achieve 8000 plus at each home game. I would dearly love you to tell me who said we could achieve 8000 average per home game to break-even, would it be Tarry or Simms by any chance? Next they will be telling us pigs can fly!

I am sorry to say I am with Dantes thought process on this one, I am so disappointed by the lack of marketing, we had a once in a life time opportunity from the final game to now & we have decided to do nothing!
A friend of mine went into the shop at the Willows two weeks ago to buy a Christmas present, ended up spending £50 elsewhere because the club had no stock, the shop did not know when they were to get some stock, did not know when they were moving, utter shambles!
No shop!
No radio advertisements!
No bill boards
should have signs when you enter Salford, welcome to the home of Salford City reds
No selling the concept, get people interested, open days, open the shop at Barton would have been a start, get people visiting the new stadium buying merchandise, get people interested.
I am sorry I should not let this get to me but is does, what a waste of a golden opportunity, BBC, MEDIA CITY, TRAFFORD CENTRE, PEEL HOLDINGS we have really messed this up for very little capital.

Similar to wakey for seasons past. We have sorted the above and more with shop openings, presentations, players in communities.
Hopefully you Salford fans sometime soon can see an improvement like we have and won't have to wait.
I am astounded given the new stadium that the salford bosses haven't developed and acted on a robust marketing strategy before now.

| Now I think marketing could be better at the club but I have just read this on clubs facebook page (its in response to someone asking if theres any leaflets he can give out)
[i'Adam, this is happening in January on a big scale. We do not have an unlimited budget and the simple fact is enough people do not go from 'not going at all' to 'spending £200 on a season ticket' simply because they receive a leaflet to make the return on investment even close to justifiable, new stadium or not. We would spend many times more than we could expect to bring in as revenue and the club does not have money to risk. We would love to have a significant marketing budget but we don't at the moment. Every penny has to count. Pretty much any and all money that the club has is spent on the team, and any marketing spend has to be almost guaranteed to work to be approved. The goal now is to get people to the stadium to watch a game and then grow their interest from there - to retain the kind of people who came to The Willows once and were turned off. Something which, in theory, will be made easier by operating out of a better facility. Season ticket marketing spend has been targetted (and gone well) on the people who we know have at least a passing interest in the club already - to be blunt, the club cannot afford the random, scattergun approach you are calling for, and to be frank, knows that it will cost more than it brings in. Simple as that. Appreciate the passion rallying cry though. Good stuff.'[/i
I actually agree with the club on this...having worked in marketing a couple of years...radnom leaflet drops wont make people buy a season ticket....we need to get them to come to one game and then gbuild from there. In which case, if thats our strategy, january is the perfect time to promote games as if they did it now people would forget between now and feb when we play cas. sounds like more marketing will happen in Jan which should be good and lets not forget, our marketing team got 10,000 to the willows for last game......I say judge them after the first couple of games.......lets see what they can do.
