| The guy was a dick and you're better off without.
It was a running joke within RL circles that somehow this bloke had secured himself a SL head coaches position, it was almost as if Simms had mistaken some bloke in a bar for the guy he actually meant to meet and offered him the job.
While moving into a new stadium and on the brink of a new era the last thing you wanted was that fella in charge, chance to put someone deserving in the job now.

Be interesting to see if he manages to secure himself another position then?
Always the coach, never the employers. No one takes responsibility and the process starts again.
Any one else bored?

| Most people would have thought, Peter Gentle was the right man and worth waiting for. I'm guessing, most people would, currently, choose Darryl Powell, given the improvement England have made since he came on board. So we can rule Powell out.

Gentle wasn't able to get here until November and we didn't want to be coachless at the start of pre-season... oh, wait.

| Shaun Edwards is out of weekly work. Big jim mills tweeted a couple, including John stankevitz who is doing a good job at Rochdale. One from left field maybe?

| This is no time for a 'left field' choice.
We need experience and a proven track record

Tricky though, because that's exactly what Mcrae had.

| I'd be very surprised if Noble would take it, too much to lose and too little to gain (reputation wise). Probably the same with Kear but depends on what other options he has. I'd take Noble as a stop gap option for a year, he could probably do with our squad what he did with Crusaders
Darryl Powel would be a very good choice but he will probably head a lot of lists for the next coaching vacancy to come up. There've been a few clubs just appoint a coach so there may not be a vacancy for a while. So I guess it depends on if he's prepared to wait, he seems relatively content at Fev, he might want to stick it out and see if they can have Salford's place on SL sooner rather than later!
I agree with most and wonder who would take it. Look up "poisoned chalice" in a dictionary and it likely says Salford coaching job as the definition. I think we'll probably end up with Vievers as a default. Nothing against Phil cause I like what I've seen but it feels a bit worst of all worlds - Board didn't have the faith in him 6 months ago and all parties will know that

Let's have a bit of perspective here.....
1: The man who has just walked out on his contact SAYS he was lied to to, I rather suspect there are two sides to that
2: LOOSING ASSISTANT State of Origin coach, so let's not get too carried away
Overall I think that we might say of Mr Parrish "he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy"
That said I agree the Salford Board and management need to take a very long hard look as to why they get this wrong again and again, could it just be they're not very good at it? Just a thought !!

To get it so wrong time and time and time again is inexcusable a change is needed in the management structure at our club so any coach has a chance to succeed here
