Good question.
Can I bring myself to sit on a blue seat, do I sit on a blue seat so its coverd and no one can see it or am I just going to stand?

| Quote ="Red Tide"OK, so we have arrived at a conclusion to the original question, if you want to stand in the official Reds end you stand in the North. Hallelujah.
p.s. unless of course you want to avoid the prevailing wind/rain or perhaps a bit of banter with the away support.

I was told in the club shop today the North is the Away end, so South for Salford fans only

| My £50 season ticket states i can go anywhere, stand or sit, but at the Willows the North stand was allocated as away end and the Club end (south stand ) was where we stood behind the sticks, so the Karma will still be with us.

| Think there's going to be typical Salford mayhem about the stands.
After seeing everyone's replys here I called the club today to ask to change my choice to the North stand rather than the South and they say that they have changed things and the South stand is where everyone from the shed is going, they say the club wants the standing home fans and they are giving that advice to anyone asking about standing.

| I like the way people are concerned about the fact if we all don't stand together there'll be no atmosphere generated at matches. Everyone stood together in The Shed for years and still didn't generate any atmosphere so what difference will it make?

| The south stand is now the home end as the sun and wind will not be in our faces, the original design has apparently rotated a little and this is the reason for the change. Don't know what design they have been going off the past few months........

To have the freedom to stand without upsetting anyone? when i start taking my son to watch salford ill probably sit on the side with him and i will not be happy if our view is obstructed by people stood up, you want to stand go behind the goal if watching from the side is more important that standing sit on the side....its as simple as that in my book
Can you sit for a full 80 watching salford without leaping out of your chair when somthing happens? a question you yourself can only answer
i also think being positioned behind the goal will help the players think of all the classic away day atmospheres (warrington away 2002,2006, Castleford away 2004, Grandfinal widnes 2003 of the top of my head) we are all situated behind the goal i feel you get that extra 1% out of the players when they are attacking / defending a wall of noise.
How many tries did we conceed in the dying seconds infrount of the north stand where there were 1000+ visiting supporters going potty, it happened most weeks if we are being honest.
The shed was loud inside at times but from the north stand it on an average day you wouldnt hear it (unless it was a simple enough song for everyone to join in) so it was a factor in the usual collapse before half time / full time in my opinion

You cannot have expected the shed to rock everyweek, its a two way street the crowd lift the team and the team somtimes lift the crowd, personally i feel the atmosphere wise the last season at the willows was a success was far better than the previous 2 season for a start, we made some good noise in certain games but quiet in others but id proably give it a 7.5/10
It will take a few games to get the atmosphere going again in the new ground, everythings going to be new but its an exciting challenge that lays head both on and off the field.

When something happens Bobby, I and everyone else who are in seats will sit rigid, just like in every seated stadium in the land!

depends on what that "something" is? a big hit? a try? a miss tackle? a tackle burst? a offload? making 10 yards?, a bomb to the corner?, a song? a half break?, a full break? a penality?, a bad referee deciton?, a knock on?, A 40/20?,a foward pass?
Id be up on my feet for all of the above no danger, person behind me might not be very happy with me bobbing up and down obstructing his and his childs view every 30 seconds as well as me sitting on frame of the chair rather than the seat so i dont have to jump up as far would probably damage the chair in the end.
Its a whole new world out there in barton and it will be interesting how many salford fans put watching the game SEATED on the side because visually its what they are use to and have their barings already because of the location of the old shed at the willows above STANDING at a rugby ground.

| You would think the people who make these decisions would take a trip down to the HJ on a match day and see the atmosphere generated by the layout at Warrington , it really isn't rocket surgery

| We haven't yet renewed our season tickets, which is unusual for us.
I'm not happy about standing behind the sticks until I know what the view is like.
We are thinking of selecting a seat as it costs the same but not using it if the South Stand offers what we want.
Can I do this and which seated area is best anyone know?

| I emailed the club about it. Apparently everyone who's specified North Stand when buying will be contacted to see if they want to move into the South Stand or stay in the away section. Seems it's one of those things that only came to light when in the stand itself.
At least it's sorted in advance rather than leaving us all to suffer once the season has started. People would only have moaned then an'all.
