Off the field that in my eyes is worse,yeah we are moving to a new stadium, but thats it,its not ours,they cannot even tell us simply how much its going to cost us for a season ticket. I now will not buy a season ticket and just go to the games i want to,just cannot be doing with this bullcrap.

by the sound of it he has moved the club forward in the short time he has been here.
MP is a god send, i just hope the club and the players under him give him what he needs to make his role coaching salford city reds a success.

He hasn't taken the club forwards yet . He's just pulled the curtains back and the light has shone in on how weak the club really is with its onfield activities. for that and that alone some fans have taken to him , for being honest.
His decision is an easy one , quit now and he'll never get another chance of a top level coaching position in S.L. , or continue and with limited resources he may not take the club forward , get sacked and never get another chance of a top level coaching position ..

Lets cut the crap! I really like MP and think he is the man who can take us forward. But lets not forget, he walked into a job blind by all account, we are talking about a man who has never been out of Aus, i know for a fact he has put pressure on AH to produce more youngsters, don't think he understands the lure of football in this country. They don't grow on trees like they do in Aus! there is a lot of work to be done and i truly believe he is the man. KH was our last great coach and i think MP can really push us forward. He has to understand tho that we are a poor club! we have no money and he only has scraps to work off. but it will show the true mettle of the man! KH did it so it can be done!!I think the season ticket fiasco shows the bs that goes on behind the scenes!!

I'm not entirely convinced that MP is the man to get the job done, but he deserves the chance and he seems determined to make the club better. KMT is correct, MP clearly didn't fully understand the British game, but I'm sure he's got the idea by now.

In MPs favour: we've got a coach who, at least, knows the level of fitness required to play modern day Rugby League, he's got the full team back for the start of pre-season and Anderson started to play better. Unlike his predecessor, Parish at least gives the impression that he cares

Let's just be grateful McRae has gone and Alker has been replaced by a more creative mind!

A strong disciplinarian with vision , an assistant who poaching was not just off the pitch (i.e. a real half-back), and a very experienced assistant with excellent man management skills.

Sounds good, to me, to blind-side other coaches.

Back to my original point, the rumour that MP has decided not to return grow stronger.

Training starts this coming Monday, and my man in the "know" informs me that Matt has still not returned from OZ...

I won't pretend to be alarmed as I simply don't know if this is the norm, but judging from my mates reaction it isn't



His predcessors (i'm informed) were present much earlier to organise whats what ( as you would expect )

I feel this is the last thing we Salford fans need or deserve after the last 5-6 year's of turmoil, and I think I speak for the majority when I say Matt is the most decent and possibly capable coach we've had to push the team in the right direction.

His predcessor lived over here and may have turned up early but he did not appear to have organised anything in the past four years, MP may have put the wheels in motion before he left on his holidays, I am on half term at present and I thought I would do some planning for the next 6 weeks, only to find I had already done the stuff I needed during the summer, just forgot, it's called planning ahead, a lot of people do this.

Anyway MP's new "best friend" has said he will be here by the weekend.

I think after last years splash out we have decided to coach the ones we have got, which will be a change after Mcrae just buying and not coaching.

I presume we will see some more of the academy lads which is good, hopefully more of the lads who graduated from u18's. Think owen and sneyd will be the main graduates although not sure if owen needs another year to bulk up, but as no hooker signed I presumed he will be pushed!
lets be positive this is a young team with a lot of potential!!and the right coach who knows!!!!

he has took a boat to Hong Kong and will fly from there, sort of Michael Palin like after all they share the same initials.

I heard from his "best mate" he has been watching bruce Willis in the Die hard series 24 hours a day since he returned to OZ and now that he has been trapped in Oz due to this strike he has stolen a car, drove to a local airport, smashed a few people, jumped into a chopper flew to the Main Airport jumped out of the Chopper onto the tarmac, up the steps of a Qantas threw the driver out, out ran the chasing police and is currently in the air and will land at Barton airport in the early hours

So if he doent come back we all know why and we wont listen to any "matt was homesick / matt was lied to and took the job under false pretence" the truth will be he was shot down over france...

Think if what I've read is true he arrives Thursday this week, can anyone say if all the Aussies/Kiwis are back for pre season training yet too?, can maybe see if Moon isn't with his injury but hope every other member of the squad is back already.

I'm aware via Twitter that Patten is back and I think Holdsworth may be back, McPherson arrives early December and Moon arrives around the 20th but I'm not certain which month?
