| Today shows me the players are not good enough! We might get the odd result along the way. Although it is easy to blame the coach, the coach did not keep dropping the ball & missing the tackles.
I decided not to go as I thought this would happen, I went to Cas last week & my worst fears have happened.
Although I have never been a fan of the coach, without any money it is not possible for any coach to improve the results & the team.
It would be easier to name the players who could play in other teams at super league level than those who cannot or should not as I think many NL1 sides would have given a better account of themselves today.

| Absolute GARBAGE, im just fed up of feelin let down now , we've been puttin up with this for years now and i cant spend my hard earned money for much longer, they want us to pay £18 every home game then pay for fuel to watch them away with performances like today . im sorry but i cant do it any more, more important things in my life if you get my drift.

| If you assume those on here are the loons who go week in week out and we're as fed upas we are then how the he'll are we supposed to are we to attract new people !!!
Record defeat at a "magic" game another record for the club, well done lads.
Something has to give and as ever the easiest and only thing to do mid term is replace the coach. At least the new man would have 2 weeks to work with the team.

| Ok guys, I am not here to gloat about the result just some thoughts from an outsider.
I can undestand your frustrations about the result today and other recent results. As many wire fans have sufferred in the same way for many years. As an other Wire fan pointed out your performances remind me of how we played aroud 2002. We could pull off the one off big shock results but didn't have the consistency to maintain good form. The Wire hit a low at one point when we were thrashed at home by the Bulls by 80 points We weren't operating at the full cap, similar to yourselves, our coach at the time was poor (Steve Anderson) and the club was going through financial transition. Only for a change in coach when Paul Cullen joined us we probably would have been relegated.
I have never really commented on Mr Mcrea and Simms but their body language today appeared to me they couldn't care less about how you were playing, maybe they do not show emotion
Until you move into your new stadium I think it is more of the same for you guys. Once in the stadium your support should increase, more revenue, more spend on salary cap equals better players and so on. Oh and better coach
A new stadium is not a guarantee of success but look at the impact it had on Hull and also the Wire. It should only improve Salford as a club
Stick with it

| Salford coach Shaun McRae had called for his side to respond in a positive manner after their humiliating 68-16 loss to Warrington.
The Wolves ran in 12 tries to ease to victory at Murrayfield and move to the top of Super League, though Wigan could overtake them on Sunday.
Stefan Ratchford scored a try in each half while Matty Smith also touched down on an otherwise miserable afternoon for the Reds at Magic Weekend.
McRae was not helped by the absence of five key players, though he admitted he had not seen the lop-sided result coming during the build-up.
Flat
"I never saw that coming," he said. "I was delighted with the preparation this week and the trip was excellent.
"Too many players were off colour and we were passive defensively from the outset, which is not like us, and we never really recovered.
"We are a club that can't afford to have too many guys out and the five missing would make the 17, but it wasn't players coming into the team who didn't perform.
"We looked a little flat, even from the first set. We just have to put it down to one of those days.
"It hasn't happened to me too often and it feels a bit humiliating in many respects. All you can do is respond. We have a week off next week and a chance maybe to get some of those players back."

| i think wilko's the problem.
i dont think we have enough money behind us, i think we need a new owner, who is willing to stump up a wad of cash upfront for some decent players. but we can all dream!
talau must be taking a fair cut and i dont think his hearts in it,.

I think I'm being insulted somewhere in your post but (because you write like a drunk, dyslexic, eight year old retard) I can't be sure so shan't respond.
As for the game: expected a thrashing, got a thrashing. It was all over by half time and we lost the first half by making too many simple errors and giving away too many penalties.
Is that down to the game plan? Certainly not.
Is that down to poor coaching? Probably not.
Is it down to poor motivation of the players? Quite possibly.

| Salfords pack just didnt compete, very light weight and didnt put it in. Lost every collision and didnt look up for it. When it went to the backs you looked dangerous.

| 1 word - embarresment. Yes I expected a defeat, a heavy defeat at that. But not that pathetic show. Puts it in to perspetive when you see how well Crusaders and Quins played, I know we played a very good team but I think a similar result would have happened against anyone today. Something must change.

| The players arent good enough and the same applies with McCrae!!!!!!!
Yesterday was a disgraceful performance the players just didnt seem up for it with the exception of Ratchford who i feel might not be here next season!!!!!
The players in our squad are just not SL standard and no where good enough for this league Sibbit,Littler,M.Smith,Boyle,Gibson,Tyrer,Alker,Sidlow too name a few. NL they would do well but the signings McCrae has made are well below par with the exception and Holdsworth and maybe Broughton. I would rather of seen him give the youngsters from the 21's a chance than bring in players who couldnt get in there previous team.
Why oh why did Littler start in 2nd row? Why did Ratchford play in centre when he's our most creative player and his natural postion is in the halves aswell as being alot better than M.Smith.
Since Harrison left we've gone downhill badly from reaching the playoffs to being back at the bottom of the league being the whipping boys yet again.
Its time for Mcrae to walk away now. I believe now is the time especially with the new stadium around the corner for a fresh start with a new coach with new ideas. Season after season I get my hopes up but the team never delivers.
Im sick of hearing the same excuses week after week the fact is McCrae has no answers because i think the players have lost faith in the coach.

| But what good coach would come to Salford at present? The playing staff is mostly second-rate but that is due to lack of funds, and that won't change until you move stadium - and even then only gradually. Rachford looks a class act and Matty Smith kept trying: probably neither of them will be at the club next season. I'd think of getting Karl Harrison back: at least he might want to prove why he never should have been sacked in the first place.

| I cannot accept this arguement that we should just take this result on the chin and it isn't the coach's fault.
These players are full time professionals appearing on a big stage. If they were coached properly and had pride in the shirt you would never concede 68 points. NO MATTER WHO YOU WERE PLAYING.
John Kear and Wakefield
Mcrae and Salford
Spot the difference
On the way back from Castleford I said things couldn't any worse. I was wrong.

| I think Salford will struggle to attract a top line coach whilst Simms is around. Any coach coming in will want a onr-to-one elationship with the Board and Chief Exec. Simms muddies the waters somehat for mine.
Also, what is the deal with playing Ratchford out wide? The guy is all class and has the ability to control a game. but he certainly isn't going to do that if he isn't in the middle.

| We were on the back foot from the word go due to the number of cheap penalties given away. Warrington took full advantage without having to get out of 2nd gear. McRae needs to do something about Ste Tyrer. Either take him out of the team or give him some help defensively. At the moment he is a glaring weak link in the defence and his confidence has gone. He is missing too many one on ones. The problem was there for all to see in the Wigan game and nothing has changed.
Some of the defence I saw yesterday is the worse i've seen in watching nearly 40 years of Salford. For a centre to walk past a prop, 2nd rower, hooker and half back and plonk the ball down under the sticks (and i'm talking about Chris Bridge here not Mal Meninga) is not acceptable. The same goes for Vinnie Andersons try, the defensive line just gave up.
On a positive note we looked fairly decent with ball in hand and I know its pointless but the try we had disallowed looked on-side to me however the ref didn't bother going to the screen.
Fair play to Richie Myler as well. After the stick he got at the HJ it would have been very easy to rub our noses in it but his lack of celebration when he scored at least showed us some respect.
