| Thought you were the better side and have to admit that we got some fairly dubious decisions.
Like to take this opportunity to thank all the Salford fans for their hospitality and look forward to coming back to the Willows next year.

Do you really think that the ones who slag and abuse are the same ones that are going to bother to hang around 15 minutes after the end of a defeat in the hope of thanking players for their efforts?
Quote ="Original Salford City Red"It is nothing to do with the players being criticized it is the abuse that their families(including wives and children)have received from people in certain areas and I have seen it and heard it over the years and it makes me embarrassed at times.'"
I'm not sure where this has happened but I don't think that the wives and children stand in the Shed.
It's unfortunate that after a really entertaining game that we're talking about the lap of honour (that I freudianly called a [ilack[/i of honour last night), but it's kind of apt given the number of PR balls ups that the club has managed this season.

| There third try i think it was, was it not in touch? It looked it from where i was stood and in that same set of 6 a couple of tackles before that it looked as though they was in touch and the game carried on.

Thanks mate.
We just lack that killer instinct when we get in the final 20.
The speed we play is another issue and something I hope will be addressed in the close season.
As for the ref.... please, please, please, go back to France
At least we have given the Champions a run for their money and forced you to earn the shield

| Great match but some dodgy decs again, we most have done something really bad in a past life,
but I must say since Mrs Doyle left the club couldn't organise a p155 up in a brewery.
Nowt in the club before or after the game either no music and nothing to say why, it appeared that the club were just happy to get to the end of the season and couldn't give a toss about the lifeblood of the club.

After a great game the ending did leave me worried and a little perplexed.
What is going on ?
The events of last night seemed like the same when we got relegated it was that bad.
The club needs to come out and say something positive about the stadium, players future plans.

| I didn't hang around after the match last night so didn't see the players leave the field.
However, as a fan and former Shed-inhabitant, it concerns me that our players apparently don't want to walk infront of/clap/thank the Shed.
As much as several of our more illiterate posters on here can criticise the players for not doing so, and that some of of more sensible Shed-dwellers will've been upset for the lack of gratitude, I am actually quite glad the players have taken this decision.
I have, on several occasions, been embarrassed by the Shed this season - either for poor behaviour (beer throwing, booing, etc) or for a total lack of vocal support.
Whilst it is normal and hence expected for sportsmen to thank their fans, there are only so many times you can kick a dog before it stops coming towards you.
Maybe this also explains why we're losing so many players at the end of this season?
Fans who want recognition at the end of the season need to think about the they, as a whole, behave duing the season.

I have never once booed the players this season despite some abject
performances. If I don't like what I've seen then I just keep quiet and I don't applaud. As far as I'm concerned no player goes out to play poorly
deliberately and if they do it is either because they are either not good enough or that the tactics they've been asked to adopt are clearly not the right ones. As far as I'm concerned the few 'fans' who have berated the team with a torrent of abuse are in the minority and as such should not have even been a passing consideration to the players last night who should really should acknowledged the majority of true fans who have remained supportive of the team throughout the season.

Iain, I have witnessed these people abuse the players, their families, directors at various places IE From within the shed, at away matches,Perpignan during Karl Harrisons last season with us, in the variety centre, granted they are from a minority.
Many of the wives and children, friends and families now sit in the stands.

Absolutely spot-on. It's important that people realise that the behaviour of some feck-witted morons in the shed is a very small percentage of the whole stand. To tar everyone with the same brush is both lazy & pathetic.

Ain't it just. A few idiots spout off and suddenly, according to the holier-than-thou element on here, the entire Shed are a disgrace to the club. Unbelievable, but on the other hand I guess it's no surprise, really.
And by the way, a few of us don't stand in the Shed, nor at the Club End. I take it we're not worthy of a lap of honour, either, then?

A very small percentage they may be, ut a very obvious presence they are also.
Fron other parts of the ground the 'obvious' reaction of the Shed on a large number of occasions this season has not been good, nor acceptable.
I stand by my original point that it's no wonder the team don't want to parade in front of a stand where they have often seen the 'very small percentage' as the face of the Shed. There have been plenty of comments from players recently about how good the fans acn be, or how they feel when they have to face abuse.
I am in no way suggesting that all of the shed are guilty of anything, but that the very vocal minority are costing the rest of the fans.

Apologies if I'm asking you to put facts before a whiney, self-indulgent rant while you've so obviously not got your dummy in, but just occasionally it's nice to debate an issue on here with grown-ups.

By suggesting that the players should not acknowledge the shed due to the minority of idiots, you are placing the entire stand in the same bracket.
And it's not a self-indulgent rant, nor is it dummy spitting. I don't stand in the shed so why would I be that bothered? I've seen the shed react badly a few times, but there's no way I'd label everyone in there the same. That should go for the players as well.

| In a recent post I believe R. Paul stated that younger players were put off bhe acions/comments of some fans presumably in the shed.
Now we have players leaving without waving goodbye.
Have we lost the players?
Before we get the comments on professionalism, we pay for xxxx, etc ... we do not accept it in our working lives.

| Stopped standing in the shed when i started bringing the young uns and now sit in the AT stand. Was delighted to see the 4 kids i take along shake EVERY players hand and had loads of photos taken. Sat in front of Willie T and his kids and saw him today at my kids game, he made a point about feeling very positive about Fri nights game - his comment was "more to come."
After the kids shook hands we walked round to the shed massive cheer for Ratchford and a few before him however not even a clap for Smith and you wonder why they didn't rush over. Notwithstanding i am one of Smiths biggest crtitics I can underatand why not ALL players want to run a live public vote on accolade or humilaition.
By the way when i got out of the taxi after paying my money this afternoon he did'nt clap me!!!!

To suggest that Smith walked off to silence is simply untrue. He was actually cheered off, albeit slightly less enthusiastically than the players either side of him, but to say he wasn't even clapped is way off the mark.

| It was a great team effort on Friday and the players out there really looked like they were in it together.
I do however feel as though our interchange players (asides from Paul) are considerably weaker than the starting 13. I dread them coming on. Hopefully this is addressed for next season with stronger "squad" players and obviously less injuries. 2 would-be main players and big name signings (Parker, Talau) have hardly had a chance this season unfortunately.
As for the clapping antics (or lack of), I stand in the shed and there are plenty of morons who I genuinely believe go to the match just to abuse. It's a shame and it makes you wonder why they bother coming, even more so when they are decked out in club colours.
There was a guy near me who lambasted Littler the whole game, really OTT abuse of a guy who's given us pretty much his whole career, a player who never shirks a tackle, never cries off and is always a willing carrier of the ball. He may not be the most talented or intelligent player out there, but the stuff being said was very harsh. When he scored a couple of fans actually got close to this guy and gave a very vocal "Littler for England" chant, much to my amusement.
I think the point I’m trying to make is whilst I was a bit disappointed that the players didn’t clap the Shed, I can fully understand why, given the small idiot element which populates it. It’s just a shame that they didn’t acknowledge the proper fans who stand there, and there a plenty of us.

| I think someone at the club need to manage the last match lap of honour a little better. I know it was hard with Leeds picking up the hub cap but this happens most season ends. The players wander off to talk to family and friends and then it is difficult to organise them to do a proper farewell.
I was at the club end with my 2 year old son and 4 year old nephew and the fact that players like Stapo, Littler, Fitzy and Mark Henry came right over and shook hands with them was a real thrill for them. Mark Henry inparticular was very enthusiastic and appreciative of our support. He seems to have really taken the club to heart!!!
Perhaps it was the fact that they stood for so long before anything got going was a factor in them going straight off in front of the shed. As a player I know that after a hard game you just want to get in the shower and start having your aches and pains sorted.
It might have been better if someone at the club gathered the team in the corner by the club and the shop and started the lads off round the field heading towards Kennedy Rd. That would have given Leeds the chance to get their gong and stopped players making straight for family. It would also mean doing the last bit in front of the shed before leaving the pitch.
