Had quite a long conversation with someone at the club in the past week about some sponsorship for the Foundation for next year. Was told that what is happening is now a given and is a case of fine tuning the dots on I's and crosses on T's.

Personally can't wait to see what the club can achieve with a professional back room staff from top to bottom rather than making do with under qualified staff in various positions. My personal hope is they bring in someone to run the whole thing with no ties to current staff who can run the club as a business rather than an amature sports team with a professional name,

I have been informed by someone inside the club that Simms will be gone and that the club is not being taken over but there is investment from three parties.My guess is that all the debts that have been accrued over time will have to be sorted before any announcements and we can start afresh.these investors will want to make sure their money is being spent wisely and not going to pay off debts

I suggest if we have new investors they better get a move on? No players, no season tickets & if we are not careful very little support.

All this talk of investment, can you seriously see any third party putting money in without anything in return. The best you can hope for is your club folds in it's present form and reforms debt free. Yes there would be a points deduction but with the precident set by Bradford your place in Super douper league will be retained.
Then the new companies owners can possibly take your club forward. In it's present form it is a dead duck.

I can't see Salford ever getting the same treatment that Bradford got with their financial troubles. Bradford are, well, Bradford - the name says it all. Should anything happen with the likes of Salford or Castelford say, then I wouldn't bet against us being kicked out of SL.

Great to see all players Total Fitness membership passes haven't been renewed! Even better to see the players didn't have a clue until they tried to use them! Very professional!

The gym facilities at the stadium are great, all be it the lack of swimming pool and sauna, the problem is they expect not to pay for the players memberships, which at worst is £20.00 per month and I am sure they would get discount from that.

Think the players will be using the on site facilities which makes much better sense if you think about it. I'm a member and it's reasonably quiet during the day and apart from the swimming pool there are much better facilities.
You'd hope that next season the club don't waste money on using the pitch at Leigh to train on and full use of the pitches @ Barton.

Wasn't there some reason why we couldn't use Barton? I.e. groundstaff not wanting to over-use the main pitch and the training pitches either not fitting the need of the club or being kept free for people to book?

And the club didn't bother to inform the players of this because?

I know Huntey said that they are not free to use. If he wants to train the scholarship lads on the community pitches he has to hire the pitch. Maybe the hire charges at LSV are more reasonable than Barton.

After a 6 month sabatical, I was considering re-entering this forum, but after the last 2 posts by you two children, I've firmly decided not to bloody bother. I get a bit sick of it, you post a salient and well composed message and because your not part of the clique you get nothing but negative and childish replies and as the saying goes if you can't beat them.

I personally think it makes perfect sense to use the on site facilities and as I have had involvement with the owners of the gym as they kindly donated a years free membership to a charity day at work I organised for the Reds Foundation where we raised close to £1500 and from speaking with them they are naturally very eager to get the club involved and from what I gather they are offering free use of the facilities. I can see what will happen next Sale will use the gym too and then the club will get mocked for sharing that with Salle too.

I sometimes wonder if Salford can do anything that certain sections of the fans will not shoot down in flames without a seemingly valid reason.

Someone posted about the players not being able to get into Total Fitness and you replied with a post about how you thought the players would be using the gym at the stadium. I simply asked if the players are now using the gym at the stadium why haven't they been told their Total Fitness cards are no longer working? I only ever pick you up on your posts when I think they are nonsensical or irrelevant, nothing to do with a 'clique' that doesn't exist.

With reference to the training arrangements...When I was driving home from work last Thursday evening over the M60 at Barton ,,a team was on the pitch training /going through drills with the floodlights on...made me wonder do Sale have a different arrangement to Salford in their rental agreement with SCS ?. or would it have been Leicester using the pitch?

Think Sale use their own training facilities down in Carrington, you'd think it would be crazy to pay rental to use the stadium but then not have ancillary facilities included in that fee.

But if, as suggested by Iain, they're not free, then you'll only use them if you can't get cheaper facilities elsewhere. You'd think it crazy, but the stadium company and the gym itself are out to make money, so nothing would surprise me. Then again, maybe it will now be free, which is absolutely marvellous. But it brings us back to the point made by Walshy.

To ask the question as to why the players haven't been told about any possible change or the cards not working is a perfectly reasonable question. Not everything is a pop at you, deary.

I would think that the club and the gym would find mutual benefits from a corporate tie in, the club obviously use of the facilities and the gym promotion on match days and possible access to business contacts on match days. Even if they are paying the on site gym is a hell of a lot cheaper than the one in Walkden and has much better facilities.

Why has it got a pool,sauna and hydrotherapy pool. If so then yes they must be fantastic.

I agree with that. But the question is still there: why are players still turning up at Walkden to find their cards don't work? If it is just because they've not been informed of any switch then that's more reassuring, but you still have to wonder why no one's told them?



It's wonderful, although I hear the facilities at Agecroft better it...
