Also and maybe more importantly - Players are NOT assets. Never have been and accountants do not include them as assets in the Balance Sheet. Looking at your Balance Sheet the club is insolvent cash wise and to pay all liabilities the ground will have to be sold. True - there would be a surplus when that is done but surely you would prefer to stand on your own two feet without having to sell the ground.

I think Cas fans think they have a more valuable asset than they actually have. I think he will end up going for about 150k, I don't see how he can be valued at anywhere from 250k to 350k,we are not talking about Benji Marshall.Granted he can be exceptional in games,he can also pass to the linesman in games as well,not to mention his tendency for the odd shoulder into opposing players head.

Perhaps you should do your own research and realise that we do not owe money to outside companies. HMRC payments are up to date. The money that we owe is to our owner, Jack Fulton, who has loaned us money.

We pay our bills when they come. We don't spend it on things like players we can't afford. We have no need to sell the ground.

Fully - So Mr Fulton is not a creditor then? Has he transferred his loan into a gift? If so then Cas are solvent. If not then Cas are insolvent. Mr Fulton is no longer a young man so I would be surprised if the club hasnt made provisions as his family may just not be so philanthropic.

Dont talk about paying their bills. They will come out in a rash . Maybe the doc should concentrate on paying Salfords debts before buying any mpre players. Cue the " its a new company" scoundrels mantra

If the transfer happens I think Cas fans will owe the good doctor a huge debt of gratitude. Had Chase gone to St George a few months ago they would have received pittance for him and not had him for the remainder of this year. It's a win win for them.

If you read my post above it clearly states:

"The money that we *owe* is to our owner, Jack Fulton, who has loaned us money".

However, Jack Fulton is a Cas fan, Shareholder, Chairman. He is unlikely to call in his own loan as he knows that whilst he'd lose his money, Cas would lose everything.

Comparing previous transfer fees is pointless. Each situation is totally different. When Wigan signed Fielden they were desperate, they were on course for relegation and had no choice. Bradford also didnt need to sell and held out. You cannot use that as an example.

The difference here is we're not desperate, whereas Cas are. They need the money and they need Chase off the wage bill (regardless of the smoke screen comments about wanting him to sell).

That's a new one, got to be honest can see some fans giving him a terrible time if he comes back as he seemed to take his eye off the ball badly before he left. To be fair he's a very good player who showed loyalty when he signed his first contract extention, but there are better options than him.

As of about mid December 2012 there was another set of fans who were consoling themselves that their club's debt was to its directors. One that had been labelled as "well run" for years and didn't splash the cash on transfers and salaries, and paid its way whilst other clubs went into admin leaving a trail of unpaid debt...
