Just hope and pay that the club take this the right way. From what they said about Parrish when he came in they knew the type of character he was. Hopefully he will get the backing he needs to build this team.

Think we all know the squad isnt strong enough didnt need matt parish to tell us that! The way i see it is if you are appointed the manager of wolverhampton wanderers you wont be signing Ronaldo will you? Think matt should bring in a few of his own faces and when we at the new stadium see if a sugar daddy comes out of the woodwork. until that happens i seem to remember matt saying he could coach young players to get better so please get on with it!!

Really admire him for speaking his mind but he's also a bit of an unknown quantity as Head Coach.

The Directors,for all their apparent failings,have used their own money to keep us in Super League and used their best endeavours to buy decent players within the budget they were prepared to commit.
I hope he sticks it out and proves himself.
The Board have nothing to prove to anyone,they've kept the place going.
When he arrived,and for no good reason that I could work out,I had a feeling he would not stay the course.
I really hope I'm wrong.
Any suggestion that he's showing the Board who's the boss is misplaced.They own and run the Club !

I have taken the same approach as MP on here since I first joined RLFANS, the truth is better than the lies! Shame I and a few others haven't had the same positive replies when giving a very informative opinion! Too many rose tinted glasses on here especially one who never ever finds a problem with the club! Where are you now Salf Uni? Has it taken MP to convince most there is a problem? I say most because it would be a complete failure if I read some of you actually took on board MP's or anyone else's factual stance? Well I can't say I didn't expect it! Will people please stop defending the club as though its one of your long lost relatives!. Well done MP.

I read a post on here the other day stating that most people dissapear if they don't have anything to moan about, I find myself dissapearing because not many posters on here can take critisism in any form against the club, they seem to be be oblivious or turn a blind eye! I now wonder if they'd like MP to dissapear too? Some of us have an honest well informed opinion.

This is probably only one of a few boards on RLFANS who actively seek to encourage opinion (well done mods). Lets just hope what MP has stated doesn't fall on deaf ears or on the deaf ears of those individuals who have let Salford become a source of comfort or an escapism! This is the reality now - here's to the future, hopefully a positive, agreeable and honest one with MP and maybe the odd bit of success along the way.

Breath of fresh air I say, I know this is an high strategy move by Matt Parish but at least the lid is off, no more kidding; we either have the aspiration to do a Warrington or we are about to sink, well done Mr Parish for taking the gamble & pulling the crap away.
We have sold him a concept but he has peeled the layer away only to discover very little depth!
We have not seen him coach much but I have heard more honesty from him in one month than we have heard from a lot of the Salford personnel over the last few years.
This is not an attack on Mr Wilkinson has I believe he as done a good job on a dying brand to keep us where we are but now we are at the cross road with a fantastic opportunity but we have someone who is going to tell it like it is, either we are for steaming ahead or the slippery slide to nowhere, but don't kid us anymore.

All that MP has been quoted today is what a lot of us have known for years, Im not just talking about a few hardcore i mean those that have worked behind the scenes and now find themselves back on the terrace. The clearout should begin with the Chief Exec , Sorry Dave Times up you have had it cushy for nigh on 18 years now, Coaches have been and gone and look who has remained! Makes sense to me that your buisness plan is not what it should be. The backroom staff need to take a long hard look at themselves and either shape up or ship out and allow enthusiastic , refreshing and energised people take the baton. The problem is for too long we have employed "Friends" of "Friends" in positions that they frankly dont deserve to be in, and those that show a passion and thirst for the club get shoved out the back door . John Wilky is a Gent but if i was him i would be furious with how his club has come to this point. Next year is a new start, It will either be the re-birth of our once great club or it will be the death..Wilky and Board its now up to you to decide which one you want ! If its the latter then carry on with what your doing .. I know what i want and thats MP Advice be taken on board and sanctioned ASAP! (Excuse my spelling)

I think its more than Matt just wanting more money, he wants an organization that is run properly and one that allows him to do his job.

You seem to be happy with what the club have been doing years, on every thread you post on you do nothing, but stick up for the club. Its now time to take youe rose tinted specs off and wake up. The club is in a dire state, the fans have said it for years (apart from a select few). And now someone on the inside has come oit and said it, yet you still can't see the problems.

He has never been to the UK so arriving here and actually seeing how things are must have been a shock.
The whole work ethic at the club, the unprofessional set up the dwindling fan base I bet he never expected that.

I am surprised this has come as news to anyone. Harrison said this on taking up post in 2002. He wanted to change everything at the club from the retail and backroom onwards.

Parish has to realise that RL is a minority sport in england and even more so in Salford. The changes he wants are a long term project and we can't honestly expect John and Howard to fund this club to the degree Parish wants. We need a real money man like Moran for that.

I wish Matt the best as he could be the cataylist we need to push on. We need to encourage young players that Salford is a club they can trust their future to, and maybe airing all this in the public domain isn't the best way.

And there lies the problem - almost 10 years later the same problems, issues and deficiencies are still around. Look, I'm fully aware we don't have the cash, but too many people are happy for things to carry on year after year the same way.

Surely with the money we do have we should be able to put better structures in place for the club to grow. If were not in a position to make wholesale changes then lets make small ones! New ideas are needed at the top, we have the same people running the club in the same way year on year - it needs refreshing and an injection of new ideas.

I agree we need to make the changes, lets look where the money will have the greatest impact. Somethings won't cost anymore.

Lets get some decent marketing staff, that don't alienate the hard core fans.

AS MP says in the press today the fact that we have a new stadium doesn't rectify all the issues surrounding the club, sure it will be a nice envirmonment to watch the games but without change it might as well be called the White Elephant stadium.

Disagree I think what MP has said is like a breath of fresh air, way better than accepting a 4 1/2 year deal and putting your feet up whilst the club (and it's fans) go backwards.

The one constant in Salford's failures and has been mentioned on this thread is the Tarry tenure.
