I think he thinks that the RFL has sold us down the river as quick as possible so not to allow much thought from CEO's. He also sees it as a backward step to the cap being raised as it locks all the SL Clubs into a certain amount of money for the next eight years. For the Sport to attract more money it should have held out or only signed a couple of years to be reviewed, allowing increase in money coming in incrementally instead of it being fixed for such a long time.

I wasn't there but from the press so far both.
He seems to echo Lenagans complaint that they were given too little time ( 24hrs ) and info before being asked to vote it through ,
and not enough time to look at the detail.
Quote Koukash"The latest TV deal will shape the future of the sport, yet none of the Super League chairmen understood it."'"
Love Rugby League seem to be first out with his gripes

| Much as I appreciate how quickly he has realized the 'institutional incompetence' of the RFL and that they are 'not fit for purpose' I think he may need to be a little more circumspect when it seems they are easily offended.
( I am not sure if the fine was for 'not attending' or the comments about the gimmickry )
[url=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/warrington-wolves-boss-tony-smith-3099986#.UvEII5DFKP8Story[/url
If he wants to bang his head against the wall relating to the RFL there is a fella on the VT with username beginning with Smokey...
Fantastic that he recognizes the importance and input of the players being far and away more important than administrators.
He ain't a bad orator,is he?

| Everyone copped it!
Couple of points of note:
Re. the tv deal, he basically said he was no expert in body language but he didn't need to be, to work out that a head of one of the SL clubs knew more about the finer points of the Sky deal than any of the others. I won't name him, but the Doctor did.
He asked what sort of message does it send out that the coach who led us to third in the World Cup, in what was basically a three horse race, has been kept on and is assistant coach at an NRL club?
He said the deal with First Utility meant that as a club we would get about £30k, and of course we wouldn't be allowed to spend it on the squad due to the cap. Ditto the £300k we will get from Sky.
He turned to the players and stated that his highest earning player was on a "fraction of what some of those (I won't use the exact phrase, it's a family board) were on at the RFL".
And perhaps strangest of all, he addressed the players and stated that the thought of seeing them play on February 16th is more exciting to him than the first time he had sex
He certainly knows how to garner press. Not sure this was the appropriate place to raise some of the issues, and I think he realised as such when, after his opening salvos against the game in general, he then turned all positive about the side's chances this year . And whilst I admire his enthusiasm and all he is trying to do, I may be a little prudish, but there was some choice language in there, which I'm not sure did him any favours...

| Would for instance Salford as an entity be allowed to block a move to tie us too the SKY deal? Surely if the chairmen of certain clubs thought the deal wasn't right they could threaten to withdraw from SL?
Would you'd think force the powers that be to listen rather than just play lip service too the clubs.
Santander and Talk Talk! Christ we really are starting to get some big hitter taking an interest, bet at some point the Doc brings up the naming rights to the stadium and him being able to better the current AJ Bell deal.
God do I love the Doc, bet there are people at the RFL who are cacking themselves about his outbursts.

I’ll give you a Marwan Koukash criptic style clue. The club he runs begins with ‘L’ and ends in ‘S’
What a guy. He knows how to address a room of people and grab their full attention, after only 12 months involvement with RL I have more faith in him than anyone employed at the RFL HQ.

No.
Yet more press for the club can't be a bad thing. I'm not sure if I entirely agree with him re the tv deal but his direction of travel in respect of the RFL is clear and is definitely what the sport needs.

I suspect Salford ( the Good Dr ) could well be spending their portion of the First Utility Deal on paying RFL fines.
Pre Dr , we eould have been lucky to get a line in the local press or anyone to turn up to a Club media event. now some are worried if they don't they'll miss a good story
He's outspoken and has been since day 1

| There certainly seems to be a pattern of pushing important decisions through extremely quickly by the RFL. It makes you really question their motives and agenda's whilst creating doubts about what they may be masking or hiding.

| Since yesterday's "media launch" there have been reports in The Guardian, Telegraph, Mirror, Daily Mail, Daily Star, MEN and Sky Sports. When have we ever had such an amount of publicity? The man is a PR machine.

| From what the Doc was saying they were only informed of the meeting 24hrs beforehand and asked to vote on it immediately.it sounds like the RfL pushed the vote though not giving clubs time to think!!!
