I couldnt believe the lack of noise from the Shed tonight - the only noise you lot made was to abuse the Ref !!

even at the beginning of the game there was nothing apart from general bleating for offside and moaning to the Ref.

It was quiet fromt the start.

Then came Wilshere's blunder, the non-existent defending for Moore's try and then the knocked on offload which lead to Hodgson's try, all in a matter of minutes - from then on people only really made noise to get on the referee's back, some of which was probably justified.

but if they had enough energy to get at the Ref why didnt they put it into cheering for their team instead ? maybe , just maybe your players may have responded to the fans getting behind them

Easier said than done, especially given the performance on the field that we witnessed tonight.

Anyway, I seem to recall a chorus of boos towards your players when we beat you guys at your place earlier in the season so maybe you should take your own advice



That's the nature of fans in most sports - people will always find it difficult to get an atmosphere going when there's nothing exciting happening on the field.

The players of both sides need to give us something to shout about. The game was flat. Your men weren't playing particularly great rugby (although it could be argued that they didn't have to as we were so bad). Quite frankly I was bored. I don't stand in the shed as I have little ones but where we were stood the atmosphere was awful. We can't shoulder all the responsibilty for the way they play, their wages and pride in the shirt (not necessarily in that order) should be enough. My brother used to play for the academy and we have both grown up at the willows and he wouldn't need noise from the shed to pull his tripe out for salford. Maybe that's the problem - not enough like him.

Well I'm happy to say that i'll be making my 1st appearance in the shed this year v Saints. Aus has been amazing but my word, how i've missed my Friday nights of singing, shouting and screaming in that old place.
Now, I hear it's pretty miserable over there at the moment but rest assured, I've got half a seasons worth of the above to make up for,

i didnt go 2 the game last nite but ive bin goin for 10 years and i bet theres alot of people like me who havent had much work lately and wont pay £17 2 watch that shower of sh**e, its just getin so borin! i know were not the best team but the rugby we play is very poor same 1 up rugby every week, the pack is the worst in sl and the backs all play out of position and very rarly get the ball and when they do its cr*p ball. i cant beleive mcrae persists wiv these tatics why not 4 1 game just try and play a bit of rugby u never know it might work and we might get a bit of confidence and get away from all the negativity that grips our play. oh well it cant get any worse can it!! bin sayin that for years now

we never get big attendances so i cant see it improving with the new stadium we just have to get prepared for national league where the gate will go down to 1000 if we are lucky

He played for the academy years ago when kevin Tamati was in charge and in actual fact, injury coupled with the fact that this club don't seem to want Salford lads that will put everything they've got into playing for the jersey and the fans. Maybe I am biased but he still has more skills in his little finger than were on show last night. Hey he can keep hold of the ball which some of ours seem incapable of doing.

That's a bit rich considering the distinct lack of any atmosphere at the Galpharm. And don't even think about mentioning that drum banging nonsense as any real atmosphere, either.

As for the attendance... Small, unsuccessful club with large, successful sporting neighbours in small crowds shocker. We're crap, we're staring down the barrel of no real future and people wonder why we only attract 3,000+ to games? Funny how everyone forgets the shocking attendances other clubs used to get until they got new stadia, improved success on the field, etc. But no, let's continue to pick on pathetic little Salford.

By the way, those saying they can't wait for Widnes to come in instead of us... Have you seen their attendances recently? Terrible. What makes anyone think that the lure of rattling around the bottom of the Super League table will make their attendances better than ours?

Maybe we should sell a load of £50 season tickets like Hudds, and then count them on the attendance every week whether they are at the game or not.

but to be fair if you look at our crowds, and take away the away support the average is about 5500-6000 home supporters, we sold over 5500 ST'S so i think its safe to say they are at the game



dont you wish your club and other clubs could do something like the giants have done? our crowds have been fairly poor as we all know over the SL era,but rather than sit on our backsides like some other clubs i wont mention we have tried to act on it
