sounds like on hearding the news Wigan will be 1st visitors the stadium has sealed a deal for 13million pounds of pooles pies..




Andy Orr I think is the Old Trafford Centre manager , also appointed Manager of ' Event City ' Peel Groups exhibition space where we had our museum , this guy got alot of jobs ..

26 Grand a week for the match catering and rental of the rooms , that's going to take a hell of a lot of pulling back , a massive gamble if there isn't any get out clauses

It would suggest that the Sale RU tenancy must be a certainty , plus some high profile RL matches as well , you'll be getting the Championship GF days and Challenge Cup semi's

not if you're a member , paying monthly, besides whatever the going rate for beer in the new stadium , it will be an improvement over warm cans of Carlsberg @ 2.50

On the contrary , it's a belting deal if true , it would take care of the running costs in one foul swoop , a decent naming rights deal and you could perhaps see some income from the place , depending on the set up , but as I said for this deal to work for the catering co it needs 30 odd decently attended games a year at least

So I'd suggest Sale are a done deal , or at least written into this contract , and you'll have been promised CC semi's , Internationals and the lower league finals

Just guessing on some of these points so dont quote me , but

1 it is a community stadium ? yes

2 it will be run by a council controled Stadium Management co ? yes

3 You will be what is known as an ' Anchor tenant ' , ie it has been built primarily for your use , no SCR agreeing to play there , no Barton Stadium ? yes

The Stadium Management co will run the whole complex with ultimatly the intention to make a profit , if it makes a profit , yourselves as part of the reason it was built might possibly be entitled to a share of those profits , or at least a reduction in the cost of playing there

This is in very simple terms , and in all honesty will probably never happen , but that is how most of these type of projects are ' sold ' ie LSV , Keepmoat ,KC stadium

Not so much ' brokered ' through the club , just that when the SMC are selling the catering franchise , it helps if they can state with some conviction that the facility will get some of these events , also the RFL will want the stadium to be a success for SCR , and if they can help then they will , its location is perfect , its just a pity it isn't the ' iconic ' original , as that could really have been good for RL in general and yourselves as a potential future ' Super ' club

I expect Starbug has signed up for a Premium + membership with all his concern for SCR and the stadium he must be a reds fan.

bet he'll be at the front on the walk to the new stadium on 28th Dec so he'll be first to set foot in the ground - a definite closet Red - although after a few years watching Leigh in the lower leagues you'd need a fix of some decent rugby eh?
