I really doubt this article would have made print if it was another Salford player. It started with speculation in the MEN (Manchester Evening News) about Locke's potential move to Scottish RU that lead to Locke having a social media spat with reporter Neil Barker. I interpret this story as a mischievous form of revenge.

If a local journalist was writing disruptive articles about one of your star players, you wouldn’t back them would you? Common sense would suggest you would either ban said journalist from the stadium/club or publically show support for the player. Koukash’ tweet last week regarding the Scottish RU story was to say “Neil Barker has reported this story 100% correct” or something to that tune.
I have no doubts Barker speaks with Koukash and Vickers on a weekly basis, they seem to have a good relationship and no doubt use each other for mutual benefits. This latest story has 100% been given to Barker to make a song and dance (excuse the pun) about.
I will be eternally grateful to Marwan for saving the club, but deary me some of the stuff coming out of the place at the moment is a joke. It doesn’t help him having his puppet and lap dog (Martin Vickers) by his side either, whom has zero sports administration experience. If were to ever become successful, MK needs an experienced CEO and/or Director of Football alongside him to advise him on how to operate a successful RL club. |

Jesus Christ. Never mind the content, the writing style there is just horrific. Is he genuinely employed to write? Paid actual money to produce utter rubbish like that? You wouldn't be surprised if he hands in his articles written in crayon with some of the letters backwards. |

I wrote a post about the MEN Sports desk's abilities not so long ago. Disheartening, yet not surprising, to see their abilities living up to what I've said previously.
Lazy bullet points and a tendency for the irrelevant. Coupled with low grade journalism it's very frustrating to see how one guy can cause so much angst to fans and players.

I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes but what I do know is Locke will need a run of games to find his best form and get his match fitness back. He's had one full game this year because of injury and he did OK at Catalan. The criticism Locke is getting in the MEN newspaper I feel is a little premature. Surely Locke's contribution needs judging after a few back to back games, or does Mr Barker know something we don't? If there is a problem and he does know, could it suggest a lack of professionalism within the club? A snake in the grass perhaps or simply marwanism?

I think the fans should turn this pathetic negative into a BIG positive.
Whenever Kevin scores he should do his version of the Haka or the Loka in his case in front of the fans. Bit like a footie demonstration when they use the corner flag to celebrate etc - get Sky to film.

The 25-year-old, who has been dogged by injury since joining the Red Devils from New Zealand Warriors last summer, took to social media to defend himself after being criticised for joining in a street protest as the team prepared to return from their Super League match against Catalans Dragons last weekend, tweeting "nothing wrong, just having fun".
Koukash was able to seen the funny side and said: "The video showed he has some fat around the belly that he needs to lose. Other than that, I have no issue with it.
"What concerned me was that I didn't want him to risk further injury to his groin but it demonstrated that there is nothing wrong with him. Mentally and physically, he looks in a good place.
"He now needs to knuckle down and show what he can do. We invested a large amount of money in Kevin and we still have faith in him to reproduce his NRL form.
"If he does that, he is one of the best players in the competition. It is all down to him now.
"I promised the fans a world-class player and I need him to start delivering."
