| Well I got what I wanted but even I did not expect a performance as woeful as that.
If Mr Wilkinson does not get rid now then he seriously needs his head examining.
A new coach in and we might just might win at Wakefield, the extra optimism will bring in the fans against Leeds and hopefully things then move on from there.
Keep it as it is then it will be defeat next week and around 2k Salford fans who are still mad enough will turn up against Leeds.
That number slowly dropping as the season goes on.
As a business man Wilky must see how much the performances on the pitch are damaging his club.
If we finish bottom then that is it we would be out.
No improvement in 3 years, decreasing fan base 2 huge points in the franchise criteria.
A shiny new stadium wont save us either.
Please Mr Wilkinson for the sake of the club we all love do something now.

Even good players drop down to our level when they come to Salford. I'm sure he will improve, but I suspect Luke Patten has never played that badly in his life.'"
Agreed, Ratchford has a good game for me along with a few other players (Nero, Wild, Spencer & Jewitt) but as a team it was a complete sham! I really don't understand what's going wrong! The two worst players by a country mile tonight were Holdsworth and Patten, our so-called star men. Lets hope training is intense this week and we see a different performance at Wakefield otherwise it's the end even so early on in the season.

| Utterly dejected again, I'm not saying we should be beating Saints or anything but the performance served up tonight was miserable. As much as SM has to come in for A LOT of stick, it seems that very few players are playing with any desire or hunger out there at the minute and I think it's probably a bit lazy to assume that if McRae is indeed sacked then everything will be rosy.
We have the makings of a decent side for sure, and we are a lot better than what we're showing right now but I still think if someone new comes in he's got a hell of a job to sort out this side's deficiencies.

| A few points i noticed about Salford’s team this year after 5 games.
1. we’re not fit enough we had players that were pulling up with cramp and not tracking back to tackle, were totally out of shape.
2. were not tough enough, how can you play a game and expect to win when we have players being almost bullied out of the match.
3. we don't defend as a unit, again an old school boy error we have players coming out of the line to early leave huge gaps in the middle of the field and this is what Saints exploited.
4. We don't play tight enough. in the majority of tonight’s game we had players bunching up totally out of position leaving others totally on their own, I remember the defensive game we played when Karl was coach we were spaced out evenly an every player playing for the opposition were covered by at least two Salford defenders, if we had a player that was player was being caught out on the overlap we had others sliding over covering, that totally went when McRea came.
5. to may individuals who can't properly tackle (the use of the shoulder and smothering the ball ect) its ok signing players who can attack but it seems like they can't defend, Matty Smith, Ashley Gibson, Rob Parker, Chris Nero, Feka, and Jack Spencer are the main one's who were missing the tackles tonight and cost us most of the try’s saints scored
.
6. were not sharp enough, Luke Patten’s header to the opposition says it all really, kick outs on the full not making touch with penalty’s, letting the ball bounce dead when we were due to receive it on the restart.
7. Bad discipline. Too many penalty’s given away again and too much back chat.
I could go on and on and on, we have nothing that will contribute to a victorious team at the moment.
This im afraid is down to the coach and only the coach he's in charge he's the boss the team resembles what he does on the training field, imo Shaun McRea is a coach from the class of 96. Sorry Shaun but the game has moved on and you are to stubborn and up your own backside to study learn and practice the new modern day strategy’s.
I was watching the SL launch press conference at the Trafford Centre and noticed something about every other SL coach that we haven’t got, their nearly all fresh faced, physically fit, ex successful players, and bring new ideas to the table, McRea is overweight by far nowhere near fresh never played the game and doesn't have anything new to bring and hasn't for years, as they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Sorry Shaun 4years is 4 years to long now mate if I were you I’d pack up and leave now, for the home fans to chant abuse like that is awful but imo it is deserved, I’ve never seen anything like that at the willows before it just shows that nobody wants you here anymore, Brian Noble or John Kear please John we need to get this mess sorted now before it’s too late.

You musty of been watching a different Jack Spencer then matey? He was totally out of his depth tonight and it showed with Saints targeting him and making a lot of breaks through him, cost us a lot of field position too. not good enough for Super League stick him back in the academy.

| To be fair they had to target someone after Patten left the field. They had targetted him for most of the game so just moved on to JS.

| I really do feel sorry for you supporters, despite being a Swinton lions fan I have a lot of mates who watch our number 1 super league side and quite honestly i am fed up of seeing them have their weekends spoilt by constant promises of a team purporting to be a top eight side.
Now you may not like this but perhaps not only do you need to get rid of messrs Simms and Mcrae but I would also suggest John Wilkinson should join them as well, since his tenure the team has only really had sucess when playing as a championship one club, after such a long period in charge surely he must see he has taken the club as far as he can.
Still light at the end of the tunnel, get yourselves down to the home of the Lions on Sunday and watch them put Oldham to the sword. You will get in for a fiver.

An eccles bum? I don't play for eccles? Played there over 14 years ago as a lad, i played for Folly more recently 2003, and i admit Folly are the better club no doubt about it. so its not a biased view its an honest and imo truthful view of a player? I think i know the difference between a good player and an average joe, and Jack Spencer is average and in all honesty he wouldn't even be at salford if his farther wasn't one of the main academy coaches their.
It seems that its you who has the biased view, yes he's a salford lad but for a young lad to play first grade rugby they have to have something special in their game e.g Sam Burgess (strong runner breaks tackles and big hits), Kyle Eastmond (speed handling skills and kicking game) or Joe Westerman (strong defensive game and attacking game who can win games by himself for his team), Jack just doesn't have anywhere near the attributes of those young lads, and if i'm being perfectly honest why should we play young lads for the sake of it?
If there not up to the job its just going to weaken our squad and reduce our chances of success on the field. Thanks but no thanks Jack Spencer just isn't good enough he might try hard but i think even Paul Southern tried hard and look what success he brought us.

WONT WORK

| Hadn't got the heart to submit any comments last night. Even worse than I feared. I feel absolutely gutted over the situation facing our club in what should be a season of celebration.
I shall be looking eagerly each morning this week to see the headline we all deperately want MACRAE SACKED.

He was very unhappy to be taken off in the second half and replaced with Paleassina - he was right in front of us at the time, and you've got to give him credit for wanting to stay on the pitch at that point. Hope things improve for you soon, felt sorry for supporters and some of the players last night. Matty Smith looked gutted.

I'm afraid it is. As the head coach, he may have delegated the task but not the responsibility, that remains his.

Of course it is McRea's fault why their unfit. We were the last team back in pre-season training for starters, its his job to communicate with the assistants to lets them know what areas he wants the team to focus on fitness wise i.e weights, cardio, yoga.
Another absalutely stupid thing he does with the team is trains the forwards seperate from the backs? In what way will that benifit us no other SL clubs do that? All that i can see it doing is making the team gel alot less quickly. And one more thing? Does McRea know what dumbells are? Or maybe a bench press or a squad bar? Last night we looked like little school boys compares to saints and it showed in our defence.
We really need to bulk upalot more otherwise we'll continue having players making 3 yards max then getting tackled with ease like a load of rag dolls, again another thing that happened last night quite alot. Im sure i remember chris nero being huge at Huddersfield and Bradford? what has he been put on a low carb slimming diet here or something?
Sorry when a team of that quality is playing that bad its got to be the coach who gets the blame and ultimately gets the boot!

What bothers me is, most of the players don't actually looked bothered and look as if they have no motivation at all. It can't possibly get any worse than this.

| Disorganised boys against organised men. Only one outcome!!
I thought the effort was there from several individuals, particularly Ratchford and Cashmere. Wild never stopped trying and Sidlow looked effective running wider up the right centre channel.
But without any signs of structure, organisation and tactics and without defensive organisation we were on a hiding to nothing. Why do we appear static on defence so the opposition have ten metres to play in? Why do we stand still on attack so that we have no forward momentum? Why do we defend our own line by standing a yard and a half from the line so that any attacker with forward momentum can score quite easily? Why do we wait until the twenty minute mark before bringing on our 'Impact' Prop when we needed him on after ten minutes before the game was lost for good? (even though he didn't make an impact!!) Why are the younger players with real potential not being developed as they should?
I could go on, but we all know the answer.
The players we have deserve better.
Perhaps the only questions left are 'Will he resign or will he be sacked?' and 'When?'
