there should be one off the A57 both ways but there may be issues with Motorway signage
Quote
Trunk Road Type - Motorway
Minimum Number of Visitors per Year
(Motorways) within or adjacent to a large
conurbation, including the M25= 250,000'"
Needs Planning permission from the Highways Agency . and a projected Minimum number of visitors per annum , At present with 14 home games 250,000 / 14 = 17,857
There's already a plethora of Trafford Centre - Chill Factor Attraction signs already in place.
secondly there were planning limitations in place for the Stadium Parking , and with projected Park N Ride other than the actual stadium site a directional attraction sign may be counter productive ! absurd I know ..
Or there may already be a Graveyard of premade scrapped Stadium Signs - Salford Community Stadium , The Williams Group Stadium , or they 're waiting for Sale to tell them that they're now the ' North West ' Sharks ....

I fully appreciate that everyone is entitled to their opinion and I accept that some will view things differently than others. If I didn't want to read others views on this forum I wouldn't be here. What I do find so difficult to grasp though is why you so persistently criticise yet still attend games and bother to post so frequently on here?
Where does somebody so negative get the enthusiasm from? It's like criticising McDonald's as a profiteering junk food chain that serve up rubbish and employ staff that don't give a damn, and then choosing to have a drive through every day and telling the world and his wife how rubbish it is.
Surely being at the game yesterday you must have taken some positive from somewhere? 40 unanswered points? That blockbusting drive by Feka? Holdsworth's kicking at goal? Matty Smiths try? etc . . . but I've never seen a single positive comment from you ever, why? Your behaviour just makes me question you intentions when posting on here. I think everyone on this forum criticises the club/team at times but with most forumites it does work both ways. Is it because you think you'll be ridiculed now if you did?
I'm not writing this post to get a back slap from others I just can't figure you out and where you have appeared from that's all.

| Redshed we played Halifax for god sake. If you read my post on the Halifax game thread, you'll see i posted that feka, anderson and smith had good games is that no positive My observations regarding the other players were very very average. Feka, anderson and smith were the difference put them 3 in the Halifax team and Halifax would of won. I go to watch rugby league not just blinkered Salford.

| Back on topic,it was my 2nd visit, and to be honest it still has`nt got that home feel yet, maybe with a good crowd in and something to shout about and finding a spot that i`m happy with,my feelings will change.I did notice that they had put some covers over the toilet areas.

| Think the advertising hoardings going in will help as it will kind of frame things, they should surely be in before the Wigan game to make sure everything works OK.

Speaking from experience, it won't really feel like home until you have a few happy memories from the place. The LSV didn't start to feel like home until last season, after we started playing some good rugby and really beating teams (3 years after moving in!).

| Just had a thought about something that was mentioned to me when chatting with someone at the club.
Talked to the club about a BBQ again and trying to get sponsorship and was told that because of the licenses for the retailers on the stadium premises that they would struggle to do this again, would those same licenses prevent say a Harvester or Weatherspoons opening up on the retail part?, you'd have to think that the large area of land between the two access roads would be prime real estate for that with it being very visable from the main road and right next to the stadium.

| the only thing that would prevent a licensed premises being built would be the Police and local people putting in objections, I think the club's issue is within the stadium and not surrounding area, but nothing to stop a BBQ outside and then going inside to buy drinks, and then meet players etc, everybody a winner

The guys with the catering contract (I forget their name) might have some complaints if half their customers suddenly went outside to buy their stuff from BBQs. Surely the solution is for [uthem[/u to run alternative "summer" facilities (BBQ, beer tents etc) outside of the main building to make the most of the space.

It's January I'm Freezing my ...Monkey's off dressed like Scott of the Antarctic at the Halifax game and you lot are talking about summer BBQ's !
BTW it's Azure UK , they're struggling to get roller shutters up at the Kiosks & serve beer a more than a snails pace . I wouldn't let them play with fire , we've only just had the place built

| For the first time in a few seasons I won't have attended any of the pre-season friendlies due to so ............
Two of the games have coincided with Salford City FC games
The combined cost of entry/parking
I would much rather make my first visit to the new ground as a season ticket holder for a competitive game, ie Castleford, which hopefully will attract a decent crowd and generate a lively atmosphere as well.
Following the Cas game I will of course be able to post my first impressions of our new ground.

| First mpressions........
They have strongbow on draft!
Pitch is superb.
Traffic is/will be chaos.
I can't smell sewage
There are twice as many pie fans in here than Salford fans.
I've not got the goosebumps yet that The Willows game me.
The TC park & ride needs tweaking... took me ages to find!
Feka looks trim!
More to follow after game.....

| I hope you do well this year. I have been to the game tonight (Wigan fan) and was quite impressed with everything, apart from the traffic going to and from the stadium. I thought you defended well on the whole tonight but your attack needs tweaking for you to make the top 8. If some of the final balls were spot on you could/should of had a few more tries tonight. Yes Wigan didn't play very well but it was a near full strength team you were up against tonight. Patten/Holdsworth/Smith is a vital combination that needs to stay fit. I certainly will be attending a few of your games this season.

Me too, I'm a Leyther. I sat in the West stand and it's very nice. Didn't like the North stand though when I came for our game but tonight has made my mind up that I will be a casual Reds fan. But Leigh first and foremost.

| My first attendance at the new stadium
Impressions? Tremendous view, fabulous pitch, crap beer!!
Big worry must be pedestrians crossing the A57 after the game get back to their cars at Barton Airport or up in the layby - that road is lethal, I fear something dreadful will happen before long unless some control is put in

| Barton, I am a little confused by your comment about the road. There is a controlled traffic light system right by the exit with an island in the middle.
If people choose to talk up the road and take their life in their hands that's up to them.

What concerned me was that a lot of folk walked left down the road to the other exit onto the A57, where some buses and coaches were parked, towards Barton Airport, then crossed the dual carriageway there - I agree if you choose to do it it's your own lookout and yes there is a controlled crossing - but the traffic coming from the Irlam direction is often doing quite a lick by the time it passes the airport road and there have been fatalities and other accidents there over the years.
