No they couldn't as the Salary Cap will stop this happening, but the old rule where you had to have certain attendance figures and profits to spend the cap has gone. as long as the director/directors can write off the bill then any team can spend right up to the 1.8 million cap.

I'd suggest that if you're going to go on forums commenting on a club's ability to comply with a salary cap then it would be worth finding out what you're talking about before you do so.

Don't forget it's easier to bust the salary cap legally than it is illegally.

I've been surprised at how many Wigan fans have got all mardy with this one.
