Mason apparently threw the first punch?

Are you asking me or telling me? If you're asking me, then I don't know, but it seems likely since it appears Mason was substituted immediately after.
Perhaps things aren't all smiley and happy at the Jungle. I'm sure someone from Castleford will soon be along to tell us all about it, because they seem to like being on here.

A few defeats at the start of this season and you were only scraping 3000. Nothing really to shout about.

| There is a poster on the Casforum who suggests Cas haven't accepted a deal for Chase, They are connected to the club - The offer is there though.
I spoke to Daryl Powell yesterday, And while I was talking to him, Someone asked about Chase leaving his response was, "Look, I honestly don't know whats gonna happen" - Its up to Chase.
What I will say, Is Rangi Chase as like every other game since Daryl took over, Showed no signs of wanting to leave the club yesterday, Reacted everytime the fans shouted his name and tried to encourage them as well. He loves it at Cas.... but money talks, We know his agent is trying to pursuade him to take the money on offer.
As for the bust up, It was more a case of Handbags, Embarassing to see, Mason seemed to have a go at Chase for not feeding him (He gave it to Tansey who threw an intercept ball) - And Chase wasn't happy that he didn't run the right line for it. Powell played it down to me, Saying he hadn't really spoke to Mason, But he did drag him straight off the field, And he didn't come back on.
We have no game for 2 weeks, I would guess if no deal is announced by then. Rangi will be staying at Cas, but the talk with our fans, Is they expect him to leave this week.

| No disrespect intended, but you have made it clear that you havent got a clue what's going on but then state you do know his agent is trying to persuade him (like he needs persuading). How?
It's well known that Chase will probably become one of, if not the highest paid player in Super League should he join Salford, a salary that would compliment his status as probably the second best player in the competition behind Sam Tomkins. In comparison to Castelford, we are also highly ambitious due to our wealthy owner and I think that in addition to the salary increase that is what appeals to Rangi. A player of his ability should be taking part in the play-offs year on year and reaching semi finals and finals of major competitions on an annual basis, there is much more chance of that happening with Salford over the next 4/5 years than at Castleford.

He is already in the top 3 earners in the league, Its not like he is on a pittence, He is on about 180k a year, Thats plenty.
A stumbling block is his wife, She doesn't want to move, And it was said she has told him he has to commute if he wants to move - Not sure if this is accurate. It could be a ploy to eek a bit more money out of Cas. All I know is what I see, Anyone who saw Rangi over the last about 10 weeks (When we went to Leeds away, And he was supposedly signing for St George all week - My mate a Rhino's fan said "He certainly doesn't act like he wants to leave Cas, He seems to love you lot"icon_wink.gif - Thats still the impression we get.
And, I wouldn't kid yourselves about reaching finals, You are a long way off that yet.
As I say, We will see what happens, We think the deal will go through, But what has been said is Cas haven't agreed the terms, More likely we have allowed you to speak to him/ His agent. And then we will leave the decision up to you, He won't be leaving on the cheap. Thats for sure.

Seems to me there are far too many 'experts' knowing far too much about peoples private lives.
[iChase is on £180,000 a year at the Tigers, plus £1,000 a match appearance money.[/i

Wot I wanna know is - What does he think of coaches Hay and Donlan and do I blame them for the increase in forward passes - Those given by Alibert and those screamed for by the cloned Bradford fans yesterday ?

On top of all that - he doesn't drive. So unless he either moves to the Manchester area (highly unlikely) he will be getting a lift. His cousin Weller might play chauffeur maybe ?

And? Castleford is only 45/50 mins away Salford can give him a driver who'll pick him up and drop him off.

| "We thought having a local boy would be a good bonus for us and he adds a little bit of size. Ryan had to travel three hours a day to get to and from training because he doesn't have a car, so we believe that he can do more work and improve his game now that he's closer." so i dunno how chase would get to barton.

Far from it, But it does question the paper reports which were basically talking as though it was a done deal.
Just good to see our Board are at least trying to put up a fight (Albeit we have no idea what the figure offered was)

Could we not throw McGoldrick in to sweeten the deal?
Be interesting to know what St George offered earlier this year and what Salford offered.

Bet we offered £200,000 or £250,000 if they took McGoldrick !!

| It’s all quite simple. If Rangi Chase did not want to leave Castleford, he or his representatives would issue a statement confirming as much. If Castleford Tigers did not want Rangi Chase to leave, they too would issue a statement confirming he is not for sale. The facts are Rangi Chase hasn’t issued any such statement and Castleford have confirmed Salford’s offer (circa £60k) has not met their valuation, which suggests they have a price in mind and therefore a negotiation will in ensue until both parties are happy.

If we really did offer £60k we deserved to have it chucked back in our faces.

What he said...
Cas reject offer and keep face with their fans until a we couldn't refuse offer appears/we don't want to stand in the players way. We know we've been there.

| As I have mentioned earlier, some people are living in a dream world with some of the figures quoted with regards to a transfer fee. I would be surprised if the final fee was any more than £150k.
It obviously helps when the player wants the move to happen too.

I agree I would have thought at least £100k even in todays oppressive market.
What surprises me is Hull KR recently made a statement saying they refused a substantial offer from Salford for Dobson, with this in mind I can't imagine Salford making a diresory offer for Chase.
