| I do like the fact that, since day 1, Salford fans and staff (Koukash included when he came on board) have complained about the stadium and various aspects of it. Then as soon as Sale complain about it, to the point of thinking of leaving, social media is full of Salford fans laughing and telling them "if you don't like it, f**k off." Short memories, some people.

| I've often wondered if Kennedy and the Doc might consider a joint bit to buy the stadium?
Not got a clue how it would work but sure two businessmen would be able to thrash out a deal and ensure it was mutually beneficial to both clubs.

That incident sounds like the last straw for many Sale fans. Common sense is not very common with this stadium company. Sale RU are quite rightly livid as Im sure they have had a lot of complaints from fans.
As for the comic. Its sad that this paper is now no better than the gutter press. I could give so many examples of sensationalist headlines from local incidents where they dont let the truth get in the way of how they want to report it.

I fully expect the SMC to ban all vehicular traffic at the site on the 16th Feb and also to charge people to walk on the approaches.
The daft thing is with the traffic lights they did some rudimentary work just before Christmas to allow them to be removed for 2 weeks and then do what they did in the article, I've seen this week that there seems to be a large amount of work being done on the stretches leading to the A57 so obviously someone has had a monnumental bollocking over this.

| thing is they didn`t move into the stadium blind , they had a season to watch us and how things worked , they knew the problems with the infrastructure were there and were going to be there for the foreseeable future .

This is true although it may have been a fair presumption from Sale that the stadium company would learn from their mistakes and no doubt there have would have been assurances made that they have not kept.
I understand Sales predicament but have zero sympathy. We fought so long for a stadium to see them come in and take advantage and at times act like vultures such as taking over the club shop and naming rights. Thank the lord for the good Dr that Sales future does not impact on us as severe as it would have done 12 months ago.

| From what I hear the SMC and not very accommodating to Salford or Sale. They seem to be on a power trip and don't view the clubs as the customer. I've heard of lost sponsorship opportunities like a big security firm for instance because Peel have all their favourite suppliers in place. I've even heard that the clubs can't even choose their own menu for hospitality on match days. What both clubs have lost is associate sponsorship opportunities which is a big loss.
The best thing they could do is bulldoze it to the ground and give each club 10m compensation and write it off as a bad job. It seems to me that the SMC are doing everything they can to make it more difficult for people to attend a game.
The only way this will work is with:
1. An independent SMC with no links to Peel.
2. Improved transport links fast.
3. Free parking.
4. Allow people to pay at the turnstiles.
5. Cheaper food and drink.

| I agree Wirecutter, ideal world we would also put west one out of its misery and have our stadium on that site rather than more than likley will be another supermarket.
All 5 points make sense but peel are used to doing things on their terms, and the council let them.

| Peel probably want the stadium to fail so they can build something else in it's place.

| Why don't we do the same? Why not frighten them into action? With both clubs looking for new stadiums surely they would have to assess all the issues that do our t*ts in and quick!

In his own way the Doc did start his own stance by dropping into his chat about the proposed new Swinton ground that we could end up playing there. Don't think he was as vociferous but non the less he has made it clear he is not happy.
To be fair the SMC can do very little about the transport links it is what it is until the relief road is completed, I wonder what difference the lights on the motorway roundabout will make on match days, said from the get go there needs to be old fashioned Police directing traffic to allow the best flow, you'd not get the selfish s who use the wrong lane coming off the motorway to avoid the queue that way.
I was told that when the old regime were in charge that a local cleaning company undercut the ones that won the contract yet still didn't get the gig, they were prepared too give back to Salford whatever they got for the contract in a sponsorship deal too.
Think Salford and Sale need to try and coordinate the way this is handled as together united they would create a much bigger headache for the SMC.
Were we not told that the concourses would be brightened up for the start of the season and one area in particular turned into a more dedicated Salford area? I haven't seen any evidence of this, we were also told that a new larger scoreboard was being investigated and to the best of my knowledge we still have the converted I-pad in the east stand.
As for Azure the SMC should look to whoever runs the operation at Manchester City's ground as every time I've been there it seems to run seamlessly, just for God sake don't allow that fat tongued tw@ Jamie Oilver anywhere near Barton.

| So they want to move to either Bolton or Leigh? I'm sure that will do wonders for their attendances!!!
It would take someone from their neck of the woods longer than it currently does to get to the Reebok and playing in an empty stadium wouldnt be much fun!
Leave them to it! Most stupid thing I have read for a while!

| Firstly, if they don't like the operations at Barton; join the club.
Secondly, mind the door doesn't hit your backside on the way out parasites.

Had a feeling Sale Sharks tenure at the Salford City Stadium would end in tears…Location wise ...if the majority of the fan base are travelling up the M60 from Stockport/Sale its not a great location …in winter there is always accidents on the Barton Bridge..compound that further with the volume of Traffic visiting the Trafford Centre over an extended Xmas period and it soon adds up to become a bit of a nightmare….
Im surprised that Sale never anticipated any of this before leaving Edgeley Park …
TBH only my opinion ...but I don't think that Peel Holdings are the slightest bit interested in Rugby or the match day experience from any Code
They could have bought Salford last year when we were in the mire for tea bag money compared to the numbers they must work with
The SCS looks like it was done on the cheap anyway…having visited Leigh last week..our Stadium looks a bit naff…the West stands Okay but the other 3 look like Subuteo stands
Peels partnership in the Stadium with the Council was merely a foothold to bigger things . .eg Port of Salford etc,,,,they have fingers in a lot of pies …own all the land where the fracking is being explored and taking Peat out of Barton Moss…So are they interested in a few moaning Union fans??….No chance

| Surely if the Docs going to use the threat of a move to the Swinton stadia as leverage for improvement or possible buy out at SCS, then surely as the council are joint ventured in the SCS they just wouldn't grant planning permission in Swinton?
